  3. Saw a review from another post so started bidding at $54. Got it right off the bat. Used the PRICELINE link.
  4. Used the HOTWIRE link to get this deal. Good price for a five-star but not lower than what booking.com had for the hotel. Haven't had good experiences with Hotwire for hotels in Europe. Hotwire did not list any amenities.
  5. Played around with PRICELINE for a bit and couldn't really pull anything - plus the Priceline bids were all by the airport. Saw this deal drop from $151 to $126 so I pounced on it. Hotel also had the green thumb - recommended by 95% of users. Amenities: Free Internet Smoke Free Rooms Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access
  6. Saw lowest bid in Betterbidding and then used PRICELINE link to bid $60. Accepted. Good hotel, good location.
  7. Started bidding at $65, got a counter offer for $79. Bid $70 and got it. Hotel looks good! Used the PRICELINE link.
  8. I saw that someone won a hotel for the same area and more-or-less the same dates for $84 so I started my bidding there. I got a counteroffer for $105 so I went up to $88, then $90, and then won it at $92. I used the PRICELINE link.
  9. I originally was using Priceline and was bidding in $5 increment starting at $150 for the 5* category. (I normally go for 4* but from what I've read here and experienced booking a 4* in Rome thru Hotwire, it's just not worth it.) I got to $220 before I decided to hold off and wait until the travel date got closer (I was booking more than a month out and Hotwire was offering $240). I looked at Hotwire this morning and saw the $196 so I tried Priceline at $180 and $190 and didn't get it. Booked thru Hotwire and got the Montebello Splendid - which looks like a great hotel! There is a dark side to the story though, you can book thru the hotel website and pay only ~$5 more per night + ForEx fees. So... what looked like a great deal, is in the end only so-so. Again, Italy is a sketchy place to do Priceline or Hotwire. Cheers.
  10. I bid for this in the Miami airport when I landed from my trip to Central America. It was in the middle of Spring Break so it was definitely high season. We got upgraded to the penthouse somehow which was sweet. Really nice hotel, very modern! Only complaint is that it's a $15 cab ride down to the hoppin' parts of Miami Beach.
  11. I don't know which hotel it is, but I would hop on that! I've been looking at May and the 5*'s are ~225. See if it's close to the city center because there are some 5*'s outside of the city that are probably a pain to get to.
  12. Amenities include: Free Internet, Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access Have to admit, not too excited about this considering the price they had marked out $210 and when you go to Expedia you can get the same room for only $10. As one BB user said it, Rome is too unpredictable to do priceline / hotwire as the rating are a little skewed and the savings are never too large. I'm going to try to get my money back.
  13. Won this hotel @ $160. Had a friend do it over the phone when I missed my connection in Dallas and had to be routed through Miami. Really nice. You do have to pay a $10 resort fee which entitles you to a lounger on the beach.
  14. Didn't have too much patience so I went with $40 and then added $5. Got it at $45. Used Priceline link
  15. Started at $70 and went up $5 each time. Got it at $80. Used Priceline
  16. Bid $15 for a compact not expecting anything and voila... Total Rental Days: 3 days(2 days and 7 1/2 hours) Subtotal: $45.00 Taxes and Fees: $18.89 Total Charges: $63.89 Lowest Published Price: $127.60 Total Savings:* $63.71 (You saved 50%) Used PRICELINE
  17. Started bidding at $35, didn't get anything. Landed the Courtyard Marriott for $46, $61 total. Marriott price with taxes $90. Used PRICELINE link
  18. I'm going for Durham (Raleigh, NC) Airport at 3 Stars. I saw two people got it at $37. I did 37 and 39 today. I saw other people had to go up to $49 because they weren't getting any bids accepted. I know its a low rate - but I'm going late February, its not like its peak season.
  19. Ive read the FAQ page, but wanted to post this to the larger group. Are you seeing lower prices accepted when booking closer to the travel date? I'm traveling in about 2.5 weeks and debating raising my bids now or waiting until the final week. I'm booking in the Raleigh, NC area so I'm not worried about running out of hotel rooms... Let's take festivals and conventions out of the equation.
  20. Needed this last minute so just looked at other people's bids and chose an average rate. Really nice hotel. There is also $27 per day resort charge when you check in.
  21. Started bidding at $81 and got a couple of counter offers on the way up. Landed the Marriott at $95, $109 after fees and taxes.
  22. Had to book this last minute so I just took the lowest bid I saw on BetterBidding, which was $120. After Taxes and Fees it was more like $150.
  23. Tried other bids at $75 and $80, both rejected.
