  1. Tried $60 starting at five stars for Galleria and Medical Center areas. Worked my way down to four stars, thinking there was no way and it hit. Very pleased. Nice property. Excellent win,
  2. Checked their website and it says a room for this night would be $140. Not a bad deal. Looks like a beautful property. Forgot to post the price...$110 was the bid. Total with taxes was $132.
  3. Started out with five star only doing strip hotels. Tried as high as $150. No luck. Worked my way down to three and a half stars, adding different zones with nothing noted above three stars. Finally hit this one at $96. Checked their website and the cheapest room is $136, taxes not included. Seems like a pretty fair deal, but they have a lot of negative reviews, so I am not 100% convinced this is actually a good deal.
  4. As luck would have it, headed back to Orlando in September. (work and play) Need one room for six nights. Can't decide whether to stay in the Disney area or Universal Studios. Also interested in possibly using Express Deals for the first time. So my questions: 1) What are the pros and cons of using Express Deals? 2) Can you take a guess what hotel is a four star in the SeaWorld/International Drive area? They are offering $67 a night for it. 3) I'll need a rental car, which I plan to get through Priceline. Anyone know how I can manage to get a free upgrade upon check-in? I would love to get an SUV to drive for the week. thanks in advance for your help! :D
  5. Started out at $40, 3.5 star with three areas selected. Declined, added another area and raised my bid to $45 ad it was accepted. I'm a bit disappointed in their $15 per night parking fee. I called the hotel and they don't have a resort fee, thankfully. ;)
  6. Started out at 4 star. Tried Convention Center, $100. Nothing. Added White House, $105, nothing. Added Dupont Circle, Woodley Park at $90, accepted. I checked their website for comparable rate: $369. I'm happy.
  7. First try, four star, tried Millenium Park only because we are staying at another hotel in Millenium Park the rest of the week. I can't believe they took it. I wish I would have tried $50 now, but OH WELL! I am still very happy. Thanks!
  8. A bit disappointed with this one. Hotel is an older property and you can tell it has been through "the wars." Checked their website and the rate is $119, which I find hard to believe. Not a three star...more like two and a half. Even more disappointed I couldn't get $35 rate like others here. Oh well!
  9. Great deal on favorite brand of mine. Checked their website and rate is $99. Happy with this booking!
  10. Not as good of a deal as I would have hoped, but happy with the Marriott brand. Checked their website and the rate is $89.
  11. John Ascuaga's Nugget $40 first try. online rate says $119 not impressed with the rooms i see on website...i guess we'll see...kind of disappointed ;(
  12. Perhaps I could have done better, but overall, I'm happy with my win. Lowest rate I could find going through their website was $109. (without tax)
  13. I was hoping for the Westin or JW Marriott, but oh well. We've stayed here before and I don't consider it quite nice enough to be a four star. Wireless internet is $10.95 and self parking is $16. A standard room goes for $209, so overall I know I got a good deal. :)
  14. Took first bid at 3.5 star level using three areas: Medical Center, Downtown and Galleria. I checked the hotel website and the lowest rate is $139. ;-)
  15. First tried Five Star Galleria, $60 -- Bid Rejected Second try, Four Star Galleria, $60 -- Bid Accepted Hilton Houston Post Oak We've stayed here before and it's not what I would consider a four star hotel. I'm pretty happy with the deal, but definitely would have preferred the Westin. Hilton website quotes the lowest rate as $129. Thanks, Rebecca
  16. Just won my bid for a 3 1/2 star hotel in Houston's Medical Center: the Crowne Plaza River Oaks. Bid was accepted my first try for Monday, March 28, check out on Tuesday, March 29. Winning bid was $50, with taxes total is $64. I checked the hotel's website and the lowest published rate is $142, so I am happy. :-)
  17. 2 1/2* Fairfield Inn & Suites $70 I checked their website and the cheapest online rate was $124, bringing the total to almost $150 with tax. So this sounds like a good deal.
  18. Omni Mansion del Rio 4 star one night, 8/11 $90 I've stayed at this hotel before and enjoyed it. Located on the Riverwalk. I checked their website and their best available rate online is $169, so I'm happy.
