1. Another great Vegas win! I got exactly what I wanted and bid for a 5* South Strip - $120 is not bad for a weekend/holiday rate at Vdara. There are new bid zones in Vegas so you have more opportunities for a smaller bid increment. You also have to watch out for the 5* in Summerlin now. I avoided North Strip & Summerlin because I specifically wanted South Strip Vdara/Aria/Cosmo. I've noticed that all the hotels in Vegas charge a pesky "resort fee" for $25-$38 so there's no way around it. At least it's free valet. I used the PRICELINE link on BetterBidding of course. Thanks for everything!
2. Had a great time in Vegas with this awesome win but was very disappointed that The Palazzo & Venetian blackjack tables only pay 6:5 for a blackjack. This is completely outrageous since it destroys your odds in this game. I'd rather play the video blackjack that actually pays 3:2 at this hotel. Previously, you could decline the resort fee but that's no longer the case either. Don't get me wrong, I love this hotel & all the amenities but wanted these two new developments are just too much! Hope someone finds this helpful.
3. Got another awesome win through the PRICELINE link on better bidding for only $120 at Palazzo. Started at $90 and bid up in $5 increments. We love this hotel and it's so cool that it's connected to Venetian. They also have free self parking!!! How cool is that! Thanks better bidding for giving us all the tools to win such great 5* hotels. We've stayed at every 5* in Vegas except for the elusive Bellagio. I think we're going to have to go through HOTWIRE if we ever want to get that but the newer hotels are all great experiences themselves. Thank you better bidding, now this is really going to be the trip where we win big.
4. I spent about 2 weeks bidding for a hotel in Vegas with hopes of getting Aria since we've never stayed there before. I bid almost every day using the PRICELINE link from BetterBidding and I always use the HOTWIRE link to compare pricing. I might have gotten a cheaper deal on Hotwire for $102 but I was hoping to get Aria through Priceline. My cap each day was between $115-$125 but tonight I got Vdara doe $121. We are happy with this hotel because it's usually clean and we've stayed here before. Walking distance to Cosmo and Aria so we'll be fine. My new goal is to stay in every 5* in Vegas using BetterBidding and Priceline! It's hard to get Aria or Cosmo in the South Strip zone because Vdara will usually come in lower but it's kind of a gamble - just like Vegas. Last time we surprisingly got Cosmo but the room was less than clean and there was a big wet spot at the entryway - gross. Remaining hotels on our bucket list: Aria, Wynn, Encore. We can do it! Hope this helps others with their bidding strategy! Wish me luck!
5. Hi, sorry for all the confusion! I always compare all three sites: Priceline, Priceline Express, and Hotwire and (yes) I just got lucky with the hotel I wanted. However, I do find that comparing the amenities sometimes gives you a better chance of making an educated guess of which hotel it is. That's what the betterbidding site is all about and I'm so grateful that it's such a great resource! I had a great time at the Cosmo and their Wicked Spoon buffet was delish. Good luck & have fun! Win some money!
6. Thanks for the well wishes, we need all the luck we can get! I ended up getting a better deal on the Name Your Own Price bid but here is a list of the amenities for the Express Deal when I was comparing the pricing for Cosmo: Free Internet, Pool, Free Parking, Business Center, Casino, Fitness Center, Bed Choice Available The bed choice was a dead giveaway because it listed: City Room, Terrace Room, City View, Fountain View (which is facing Bellagio's fountains). TIP: when booking Express Deals that have a bed choice, the bed options sometimes will reveal the hotel! i.e. Encore rooms will be called Encore Resort King or Queen Suite, Aria rooms will be called Deluxe, Deluxe Queen, Corner Suite, Aria Suite, etc. This is AWESOME because you KNOW which hotel you're booking, there's no question about it! Enjoy everyone!
7. I've been bidding on a 5 star in Vegas for three days and was comparing HOTWIRE and also the PRICELINE EXPRESS deals. I knew this hotel was Cosmo because the HOTWIRE room description and amenities gave it away. We are so excited! This is our first time staying at this hotel and the wicked spoon buffet is amazing! Thanks better bidding! You've given me a lot of great tools and I book everything on PRICELINE (using the price line link of course). Happy Holidays!
8. I love bidding for 5* in Las Vegas because of so many rebid zones! I avoided the Trump by excluding the Strip North Vicinity and was hoping to get Vdara or Wynn for Thanksgiving weekend. We ended up with the Venetian - which is still a really nice property! Here's a summary of my bidding history: Las Vegas Strip 5* South $80 Las Vegas Strip North $83 Boulder Strip $86 Fremont St. Vicinity $89 Henderson $92 Lake Las Vegas $95 Las Vegas Airport $98 Convention Center $101 NW Las Vegas $104 Near Strip East $107 Near Strip West $108 Nellis $111 Summerlin $115 +Tax $269.20 The Venetian! I think they have free parking so we're happy! Of course I used the PRICELINE link to start my bidding history, more users should support the site! I've saved a lot of money using better bidding.com! Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!
9. I decided to try my luck and get another hotel stopover for the drive back from Nor Cal. I was really targeting Pismo Beach but I ended up in Morro Bay. I suppose this is close enough but I think I overpaid a little bit. I discovered another trick of Priceline though! Here is my bidding history below: Pismo 3 1/2* $82 Atascadero $87 Morro Bay $92 San Luis Obispo $97 Cambria - San Simeon $102 Pismo 3 1/2* $107 Atascadero $112 Morro Bay $117 San Luis Obispo $122 Cambria - San Simeon $127 Pismo 3 1/2* $132 Atascadero $136 Morro Bay $140 Cambria - San Simeon $144 San Luis Obispo $149 Pismo 3* $125 Morro Bay $130 WIN! Ascot Suites Morro Bay I was really hoping for 3 1/2* and had to downgrade to 3*. I think I could have gotten it a couple bucks cheaper but hey, it's still a good deal with free parking and free breakfast. Yeah! Hope ya'll have a great holiday weekend! Thanks BetterBidding. Ps. Of course I started all my bidding and research using the HOTWIRE & PRICELINE links on BetterBidding! Everybody should use the links & post their wins to support the site, I know I've gotten a ton of usage out of all the great info on here.
10. Planned another last minute trip this holiday weekend and so I used the PRICELINE link on betterbidding to get started. I knew it could be pretty expensive for a last minute bid but I was delighted with the 7 re-bid zones for the 3 1/2 or 4* hotels in the area. My target was Walnut Creek and below is my bidding strategy: Walnut Creek - Concord - Lafayette 3 1/2* $40 Antioch - Oakley - Pittsburg $44 Hayward - Castro Valley $48 Livermore $52 Martinez $56 Airport OAK $60 Richmond $64 Union City $68 WIN! Walnut Creek Marriott This is exactly the area we needed and I'm pretty excited about the price. I read that this hotel only has valet parking so I called and asked if they had self parking. The front desk agent was REALLY professional and helpful - he said that there's a parking lot across the street for hotel guests & employees that it's free and the BART police patrol it. He also suggested pulling up to the valet area, checking in, and unloading our luggage so we don't have to bring it across the street. Awesome! Customer Service like that really makes me excited and I will definitely write a review for them after we get back. Thanks BetterBidding for giving me the tools to have a good bidding strategy!
11. Thanks again BetterBidding! We had a great time in Vegas and wanted to share a tip for Palazzo! We experienced the best customer service there and the room & hotel were so nice! You have the option to decline the resort fee of $28 at check-in if you don't plan on using the wifi, spa, etc. so it's worth saving some money for gambling! Hope everybody enjoys this hotel as much as we did!
12. I used the PRICELINE link on BetterBidding to book a last minute runaway trip to Vegas. I knew the cost would be high for just one night but I definitely wanted to stay in a 5* for Saturday only. I spent three days bidding and my limit was $250 but I started at $175 and worked my way up in $5 increments (I love the many rebid zones for Vegas). Here's a summary of my bidding: Las Vegas Strip 5* South $175 + Las Vegas Strip 5* North $185 + Boulder Strip $195 + Fremont Street $200 + Henderson $205 + Lake Las Vegas $210 + Las Vegas Airport $215 WIN! Palazzo!!! Not too shabby for a same week, one night visit! Now wish me luck to win BIG! Thanks for all the great info BetterBidding!
13. I used the price line link and spent five days bidding on a 3* hotel in Mammoth. I checked the "Express Deals" for $149 and found a 10% off coupon code (PLAYOFFS) on the bonus money link on better bidding. I knew that if my bidding neared $135 I would be better off going the "Express Deal" route with the coupon. Here's a summary below: Mammoth Lakes 3* $75 +Angels Camp 3* $85 +Buck Meadows 3* $95 +Oakhurst 3* $99 Mammoth Lakes 3* $100 +Angels Camp 3* $105 +Buck Meadows 3* $110 +Oakhurst 3* $115 Mammoth Lakes 3* $120 +Angels Camp 3* $125 +Buck Meadows 3* $130 +Oakhurst 3* $135 Mammoth Lakes 3* $125 - Priceline suggest free bid/higher offer of $160. +Angels Camp 3* $128 +Buck Meadows 3* $130 +Oakhurst 3* $133 Total was $320.46 and I saved -$29.80 Congratulations! 10% discount successfully applied! I was a little surprised because I was expecting this to be Juniper Springs based on the star rating. We were hoping to stay closer to the slopes but I found out this place is near a lot of great restaurants so I think we'll be ok. I suppose the hotel list can be updated now to include the Best Western Plus High Sierra. Amenities: Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Indoor/Outdoor Pool, Free Parking, Restaurant, Business Center, FItness Center. Thanks!
14. I used the PRICELINE link through BetterBidding and got the Westin Park Central Dallas for only $60/night! I heard there's a free parking lot across the street so this is a great deal! Here's my bidding: Downtown Dallas 4* $55 +Galleria Dallas North 4* $58 +Park Central 4* $60 WIN! Total $134.06 for two nights Not too shabby!
15. Thank you so much for the SM parking link! The parking structure across the street was only $5/day and we saved so much by parking here instead! The priceline rooms are not suites at this hotel but still plenty of space for 2. We did get two doubletree cookies though ~ delicious every time! Thanks again BB!
16. I used the PRICELINE link on betterbidding to find a 3.5* or 4* in Santa Monica. I was hoping to get it for under $100 but I'm happy with where I ended up on such short notice. Here's a summary of my bidding: Round 1 +Santa Monica 4* $73 +Culver City $82 +Inglewood $90 +Lawndale $98 +USC $105 Round 2 Santa Monica 3 1/2* $72 +Culver City $80 +Inglewood $88 +Lawndale $95 +USC $100 +Brentwood $105 +Beverly Hills $110 Round 3 Santa Monica 4* $85 +Santa Monica 3 1/2* $93 +Culver City $101 +Inglewood $109 WIN! I remember getting a cookie at another doubletree so I'm excited for check-in! I heard this hotel is valet only but we have two cars so it's going to get pricey. Does anybody know of a close self parking lot that's safe? Thanks for all the great help better bidding! This site is awesome!
17. I used the betterbidding PRICELINE link to bid on a room in Vegas for Thanksgiving weekend. We love Vdara and always try to stay here in Vegas! Here's a summary of my bidding: Las Vegas Strip 5* South $65 +Fremont Street $67 +Henderson $72 +Near Strip East $78 +Near Strip West $82 +Convention Center $87 +Las Vegas Airport $90 +Boulder Strip $92 +Lake Las Vegas $95 WIN! Total with tax is $331.68 and resort fee to be charged at checkout. So excited to run away for a fun weekend!
18. I posted a link to a Priceline $10 Deal in the Bonus Cash Forum and used the PRICELINE link from BetterBidding to start my bidding. I really wanted Vdara so here is my bidding history below: (All Bidding Includes $10 Bonus Cash) Las Vegas Strip 5* South $105 Las Vegas Strip 5* South + Fremont Street $110 Las Vegas Strip 5* South + Fremont Street + Henderson $115 Las Vegas Strip 5* South + Fremont Street + Henderson + Near Strip East $120 Las Vegas Strip 5* South + Fremont Street + Henderson + Near Strip East + Near Strip West $125 Las Vegas Strip 5* South + Fremont Street + Henderson + Near Strip East + Near Strip West + Convention Center $130 Las Vegas Strip 5* South + Fremont Street + Henderson + Near Strip East + Near Strip West + Convention Center + Las Vegas Airport $135 (WIN) My total cost is $125 + $10 Bonus Cash Per Night. Budget was under $300 so I'm ecstatic that my total with fees & taxes was Total $294.50 Not bad for a summer weekend in Vegas! Thanks BetterBidding for having all the great info. I knew that 5*'s didn't exist in the other zones I selected so it was really easy to complete this transaction in one session and I was excited to be able to use the Bonus Cash on top of that. Hurry the offer expires on 5/31/12 so I hope other people can utilize it! Yay!
19. I did both strip north and strip north condo and got the trump. I used the HOTWIRE link on this site and checked my dates to compare and the strip north condo area does not show up on hotwire anymore. I won the bid a few weeks ago so they may have changed this since then. Hope this helps.
20. I used the betterbidding PRICELINE link to bid on a 5* hotel in Vegas and I finally won the Trump International Hotel after 5 days of bidding. I knew that Saturday would bring up the cost although I didn't want to risk separating the bid because we didn't want to move hotels for just two nights. I low-balled the offer at $70 and went up a few dollars every day until it was accepted. My goal was to get it for less than $100 so I am happy. I heard this hotel charges a $20 resort fee, any other tips for Trump? Thanks!
21. I used the PRICELINE link on this webpage to bid on a one night stay for almost 10 days and finally got a pretty good deal! Here's my (long) bidding history: Priceline 8/1/10 11:00 PM Brisbane - City Center 5* $70 Brisbane - City Center 5* + 4* $75 Priceline 8/3/10 1:00 PM Brisbane - City Center 5* $80 Brisbane - City Center 5* + 4* $81 Priceline 8/4/10 9:00 PM Brisbane - City Center 5* $85 Brisbane - City Center 5* + 4* $86 Priceline 8/5/10 10:00 PM Brisbane - City Center 5* $90 Priceline 8/6/10 11:15 PM Brisbane - City Center 5* $95 Priceline 8/6/10 10:45 PM Brisbane - City Center 4* + 5* $91 Brisbane - City Center 5* $99 Priceline 8/9/10 6:00 PM Brisbane - City Center 5* $96 Brisbane - City Center 4* + 5* $99 Priceline 8/10/10 10:30 PM Brisbane - City Center 5* $100 Brisbane - City Center 4* + 5* $105 ACCEPTED! I could have probably got it for $100 but I was getting tired after 10 days. Any tips on this hotel? Parking? Thanks! :)
22. There it is!!! I'm still a newbie so I missed that section. :) Will not miss it next time! Thanks.
23. Congrats! Great price! I am so sad that I missed the $10 coupon! I used the betterbidding PRICELINE link but somehow missed the coupon that expired 7/27. It would be great to have a "NEW BOARD FEATURE" such as "COUPONS" so people don't miss out on extra savings.
24. Max Bid was $60 (since Hotwire was $69 for the area) and I didn't think I would get since it's the last summer weekend before Labor Day... Bid History Costa Mesa-Irvine $50 + Newport-Huntington $55 + Seal Beach-North Huntington-Fountain Valley $60 (WIN!!!) I knew that there wouldn't be any 4-stars for that cheap in the other regions so I took a shot. This is my first purchase on priceline! Add $31.26 for taxes/fees and the total 3 night stay was $211.26! Hilton.com shows total $321.09 for the fully pre-paid (room selected at check-in). Does anybody know if there's free parking in the area? The hotel charges $21 to self park!!! Any other tips for this hotel? Thanks!
