  1. Thank you for your response. I just hate surprises. Some hotels charge $27/night resort fee, plus parking. That's quite excessive, in my opinion.
  2. Hi, I'm looking to stay in Downtown Disney area. If I 'name my own price' on 4* hotels in that area, will I end up getting a resort hotel that charges resort fees on top of hotel rate? How do I avoid such hotels. The Hilton Lake Buena Vista, for example, charges $27/night. Thanks.
  3. Couldn't get a good deal for May 19 to 21, so changed to May 20 to 22. Got it on the first attempt at $90/night. Maybe should haven't started from $80? :) Anyway, $90 is about right for this hotel. Look forward to celebrating Victoria Day with my family in the capital city.
  4. Bid 3.5* at $80, rejected Bid 3* at $75, accepted Not enough historical data on Ottawa hotels. Maybe I should have started from $60 for 3*. But anyway, it's the right location and a very reasonable price during the annual Tulip Festival weekend. Looking forward to this short trip to the capital.
  5. :) Got it on first try. Didn't take it too seriously when I entered $10. I guess because it was a Saturday. See if I get lucky at the counter and get a free upgrade. It's only for one day tough. Subtotal: $10.00 Taxes and Fees: $13.49 Total Charges: $23.49
  6. Wanted to get Westin instead, but can't complain about $62 deal. I have been bidding for 3.5* and 4* in the LAX area for few days. Today went all the way to $58 and still had no luck with 3.5*. Swiched gear and attacked 4*. First bid $55 received a counter offer of $70. Of course, I immediately declined and slowly increased my bid $2 or $3 at a time. Based on my observation, the accepted price tend to be somewhere in the middle. Bingo, $62 was accepted at the end. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $62.00 Subtotal: $62.00 Taxes & Fees: $16.20 Total Charges*: $78.20
  7. Well, I have to say, I'm very surprised about winning Hyatt. I was aiming for Hilton all the way. Started from $65, in $5 increments. Never received a counter offer. $89 was going to be my final bid for the night. Priceline God can certainly read my mind. $75 for Hilton would be ideal, but $89 for Hyatt isn't too bad. In my past experience, Hyatt tend to be better than Hilton, although Regency is a on the lower end. There's a huge auto dealer convention this weekend, so $89 isn't bad at all. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I'm bidding for 7 rooms. Thanks betterbidding.com!
  8. Yes, any 4* is okay. I have added many zones in the city. No luck. Is it because I'm trying to book 7 rooms? What options do I have if I want to stay in the city? 3.5* is okay. But I'm not sure what kind of deal is out there. I am willing to go to $80. One more question, what if I break up my bidding? Say I bid 3 or 4 rooms at a time. Will I end up getting different hotels?
  9. Hi, I want the same hotel for the same dates. But I can't seem to get it even when I offer $105. Did you bid all the way to $95 when you received a counter offer? I didn't even get a counter offer at $105 :) The PRICELINE God does not like me, it seems.
  10. I'm actually facing a bigger issue here. I need to find a great deal for a group of friends. We need 9 rooms in downtown San Fransico from Feb 3 to 5. Should I bid for 9 rooms at once? Will it help me to get a better rate? How can I ensure the hotel I get provide free breakfast? When should I start bidding? I can't afford to put it until last minute. Thanks.
  11. Yes, my bad. The booking is for Aug 20 to 22. Pretty good weekend rates.
