  2. Thank you! I am very excited:) Also forgot to mention that prices were in Canadian $.
  3. Saw that a previous poster had got a win for this hotel earlier in October. I was hoping for the Helmsley as it is close to the subway and I will be in town to run the NYC marathon on Nov 4, so the less walking the better! Originally I had searched for a 5 night stay and was quoted $130 per night. I checked the rate for a 6 night stay and the price dropped by $20 per night, so I get to spend an extra night in NYC without spending any extra money! Amenities posted before the win were: Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access I am very, very happy with the result! This is a great deal for 6 nights in NYC over marathon weekend! Now I just have to train for the next 10 months or so to get ready for the marathon (I have been waiting to get in to the marathon for almost 4 years so very excited that I will get to finally live the dream!).
  4. Started bidding at $65. Was hoping for a 3.5 star that is in Gravenhurst, but ended up with the Deerhurst. Not my first choice since it is not pet friendly and I will have to board my dog... but better than camping in the cold and the rain in Algonquin park (which was plan A until we realized how bad the weather forecast was). Used the PRICELINE links from this site to start my bidding.
  5. $170 ... 12/02/11-12/06/11 I had initially started bidding at $140, and gradually increased up to $155 adding the 3 additional zones. At $160 I got a message that if I increased by bid to $185 that there was a good chance of a match, but I went back at $170 and success!! :o This is especially a great deal for me being Canadian. With the exhange rate right now the $790 (with taxes) rate will work out to about $755 CND! :) It is a great time for Canadians to visit the US!! (However for some reason my Maui travel book that I purchased this week was $4 more in Canada :) ) I did use the PRICELINE link from this site to make my purchase.
  6. I visited the Warwick the weekend of Oct 1-3 with my spouse. We had booked through Priceline. We arrived at the hotel at 10:00am and requested an early check-in. There was only one room available that they could offer us at that time, however we decided to pay an extra fee to upgrade to a newly remmovated Premier room that was also available for early check-in. I decided to treat my husband for his birthday and mentionned this to the concierge. We were given a room on the 17th floor with a view of 6th Ave. The room was large and beautiful with a flat screen tv, walk-in closet, and king sized bed. We left to explore the city for a few hours and when we returned we found a lovely surprise in our room! The hotel had left a large cheese and fruit platter and a bottle of wine for us! We were thrilled, it was such a nice touch. We enjoyed the cheeses so much we were too full for dinner and opted to go out for a light appetizer instead. The bed was beyond comfortable after a long day of walking! I had the best night sleep I have had in a long time both nights. I did not find the air conditioner noisy as others have mentionned. We had brunch at the buffet at the hotel restaurant, and found the selection to be good. The location is great! A very central location and easy access to several subway stations. We had brunch at Rue 57 the second day and it was fabulous! I highly recommend. The only downsides were the small elevators (although we did not find the wait to be very long). We requested a coffee maker on the second morning and it took about 30 minutes to be brought to us. There is no free wi-fi in the rooms, but we did use the free internet in the business centre and found this met our needs. Overall we had a fantastic stay at the Warwick!!!
  7. First time using Priceline. Used $10 off coupon to save $10 per night (paid $245 per night with coupon). Started bidding at $215 for 4* in MTE, CPS, and TS. Received counter offer to increase bid by $40 and I accepted. My offer was accepted for Warwick New York. I am overall happy with the deal as it is a great location, weekend booking and I understand NYC is very expensive in October. I saved over $100 per night based on advertised rates.
