  1. 2nd night for same price as first night three days earlier...close-to-airport stay. Full kitchen a wonderful bonus. Tried bidding lower, over several days but they accepted the exact price as my previous win. Extended Stay America provides a studio room with one queen size bed that can accommodate two adults and includes a well equipped kitchen and cable TV. $33 45.21 with taxes and fees. Really nice to go to the same exact hotel once our (delayed) flight arrived LATE at night. We knew where we were going and it was a fast turnaround...only able to stay 6 hours. Sure beats paying full price for such a short stay! :) Thanks for your site!
  2. Thanks for the info! Just doing a couple of one-night stays around a conference, so this won't help me this time around. It would be a good deal if circumstances were different though! Thanks again for helping this newbie :)
  3. I don't have an Entertainment Book currently, but they are being offered for many cities now for 9.99. What is the discount offered from the Entertainment Book? Is it city-specific? How is it best used? Would it pay to buy the book for a very short stay? Thanks in advance! -d
  4. My very first Priceline bid was accepted. Guess I should have bid lower! :) Extended Stay America provides a studio room with one queen size bed that can accommodate two adults and includes a well equipped kitchen and cable TV. $33 45.21 with taxes and fees. Anyone ever stay there? blessings, Debbie
  5. New to all this, so please forgive if this is common knowledge. Does the day of the week and time of day you are bidding matter? Last Friday before lunch, I was exploring a one night stay (for 8/11/10) at a 2.5* hotel near the Cleveland airport using the name your own price option. The average price shown was $69. Since I had never done this before, I decided to go home and go through the process with my hubby in tow. When I tried again, the average price had jumped to $94 for the same zone, same date... I was wondering if it had anything to do with time of day, and that we were now officially in "the weekend." This afternoon it is $76. Not as low as that early Friday average... but I'm still wondering how often these averages change that affect where I would start with my bidding. Thanks in advance for any insights you might be able to give! :)
