  1. I went up to 100 for Convention center, Rittenhouse, and University area. Not for city line (like you pointed out) because City line is 10 mins away and airport is 15 mins away, so I figured that if I was going to have to book a hotel near city line I might as well go cheaper in the airport area.
  2. Thanks for the help. I went up to 100 and still could not get anything accepted in the city center. In the end I gave up and just got a hotel in the PHL airport area since it's only 15 mins away from downtown. Sheraton Suites Philadelphia Airport at $70 a night.
  3. without actually booking (the only way HOTWIRE will reveal the specific hotel), it states Our 3.5-star hotels include: Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts Sheraton Hotels & Resorts Embassy Suites Hotels DoubleTree by Hilton Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Crowne Plaza and Hilton city ave are the ones listed in the priceline hotel list.
  4. I've tried bidding and rebidding a 3.5 stars hotel for the following area (11/9-11/11): Convention center -- up to 86 Rittenhouse -- up to 86 University area -- up to 88 historic district -- up to 86 city line -- up to 86 Will try again in 24 hours... hotwire indicates that there's 3.5 stars hotel for 94/night, so I'm not sure why priceline is not budging
  5. Tried bidding at 3.5 with $80 at no dice. Tried bidding at 3.0 with $80 with pike place, center and bellevue and got the Red Lion Hotel. Excited about the trip!
  6. Started bidding at 42 using the PRICELINE link. Tried for two days and finally got one on the third day for 62.
  7. Thanks for this information. I have been trying to get a hotel in Fresno for 3/23-24, started at 41 yesterday and up to 59 today to no avail. I will try again tomorrow.
  8. So I finally got a bid from 14-17th... had to go up to 170 per night (I got desperate and started increasing by 10 in the end). I got the cosmopolitan hotel in west hong kong island. More than double the price but I needed a place to stay.
  9. I did not win the bids for 14-17. I've tried just getting 16-17 along and no luck there either. I've bid as high as 140 so far for 4* and no luck. Some travel agent told me that there's some electronic convention taking place from 13-16th and maybe that's why it's so hard to get hotel (and also airfare) for that period of time.
  10. For 10/17-10/19 i won the Courtyard in this priceline win I have tried up to 124, selecting all zone except for tsuen wan. Still no success.
  11. I got the Courtyard in west hong kong at $82 from 17-19. working on Oct 14-17 by bidding on priceline and I have bumped up to $120 now and still no success
  12. Ok. I tried splitting it up into 10/14-17 and 10/17-19..... got the 17-19 at 82 but still trying the 14-17... up to 90 now thanks for the advise! I'll update once I finish the first leg.
  13. Tried again this time up to 82 and included east HK island... still nothing. this is frustrating :)
  14. I have tried up to 75 hoping to get the Courtyard that others have gotten but failed so far. Started with west HK island and added Tsim Sha Tsui, central kowloon and lastly silvermine bay (lack 4*) but stopped there. Not sure if I should also try east island (avoiding tsuen wan as others indicated). timeline is 10/14-10/19 Any advice would be appreciated. I will try again tomorrow. Thanks!
  15. I was trying to get the westin in princeville but got rejected at 135. tried 136 and selected poipu (since it doesn't have 3.5 star) again... but got the resort sheraton in poipo instead. I'm a newb.. didn't know that PRICELINE ranks resort higher than 3.5 and so I was not expecting to get this bid. Well. I suppose 136 for the sheraton resort ain't bad :) Didn't know about the direct PRICELINE link here until now... will use it for the oahu part of my trip (still researching on the board).
