  4. Thanks for the suggestion. We’ve changed our plans and decided to just get one room. Suites not needed. is it possible to have a bid strategy for $100 max/night for 3* ? Stonybrook, Haupage and Airport areas are ok, as you suggested above. thanks. Noela
  5. Hello, I am travelling back to NY area (Long Island - Lake Grove) in about two weeks - for 2 nights: 8/24 - 8/26. Again, I would need a room with an attached living room/kitchenette in the Lake Grove area. Preferred star/rate: Minimum 3* / Maximum of 150/Night. If this type of configuration is not an option, then I can also consider two separate rooms: 3* / but $100 max/night. My preference however is the suite type of unit.... thanks - Best wishes of the night. from Noeal

  8. yes, checkout date is 13. and a regular room with pull out sofa would be good. Sorry about the errors. best wishes - nOela
  9. Thanks: I don't need a second room for a privacy etc. Just space available for a pull-out bed / air mattress. Something similar to the 1. Junior suite available at this DoubleTree: LINK or: one bedroom Queen suite at this Benjamin: LINK In both cases, the little living room can house two air mattresses. The $250 budget is exclusive of taxes... thanks again, Thereuare: /Noela
  10. UPDATE: also, I realized that hotels with "Suites" have separate sofar room facilities, hence, I would want to include those too. I am revising my maximum cost to about $250. thanks - Noela
  11. Hello, Need some bidding help. I am traveling to NYC next weekend for a business meeting. I am traveling with my family and need two rooms. I want to cut down cost and preferably get a room with an attached living room/kitchenette so the kids can use inflatable beds there. Just like some Residence Inns do. Rating: 3.5* and over Cost: $200 max/ night. Access to Wi-Fi is a must, free parking a plus but not essential. Proximity to Times Square area would be ideal. Thanks in advance for your tips and suggestions. Best, Noela
  12. Yes, I realized that last night and had to come back to this board for guidance - for some reason, I guessed there would be a post on it, and I did find your links.... thjanks - MN
  13. Perfect .... never thought of that ... Thanks, anyway ! Best wishes - Noela
  14. Thanks, Thereuare: I thought of bidding given that this hotel is probably the only 3.5 in that zone ... but you never know - I can be landed in a different place.... So I took your advice and booked through PRICELINE EXPRESS and got the Hotel Goveneur ...@ $85/night - almost 50% off the listed price of $159.00 Top Amenities Free WiFi Indoor Pool Fitness Center Pets Allowed Restaurant Cable/Satellite Tv Hair Dryer Room Service I did book through the PRICELINE link you sent ... Enjoy Happy Memorial Day. thanks - Noela
  15. Hello Thereuare et al: I am going to Montreal for a conference in mid-June. The conference will be held on the campus of University du Quebec a Montreal. Here is a link to a GOOGLE MAP showing the conference location versus accessible hotels. I want to be within 10-15 minutes walk to the conference site. The following hotels were suggested by the conference organizers, and all are within 15 minutes: Hyatt Regency Montreal Auberge le Pomerol Hotel Dauphin Montreal Downtown Hotel Labelle Hotel le Roberval M Montreal Résidences Universitaires UQAM (West Lodge) But I am not sure which zones they are located in. And even if I want to bid, I not of the right zones to use. Could you please send me some suggestions ? And a bidding strategy?. My maximum bid/per night should be about $100., for a 3* minimum rating. thanks - Ps
  16. Thanks very much Thereuare. I went for the Hotwire deal. It's the Courtyard in Tyson's Corner. I will later edit and add the amenities.
  17. Thereuare: Thanks very much for your responses. I do not have to stay in Arlington area. Anywhere within 3 to 5 stops of the Ballston-MU Station should be ok. I've stayed in the following properties in past, and like the distance and all properties (except the Extended Stay): Extended Stay America Washington D.C. - Tysons Corner Key Bridge Marriott, Arlington, VA Courtyard By Marriott Arlington Rosslyn So, any properties around these areas that meet my specifications should be ok. Is it possible to get a better deal than the 3* Tysons Corner Hotwire property you quoted? thanks - Noela
  18. Hello, I am making a trip to Arlington VA this coming weekend. I need help with my bids. I have already gone through all the following rebid zones for 3.5* (3.5* =. 2, 5, 7, 11, 20, 21, 22, 25), bidding from $50 - $80. I need some help in crafting a different strategy. I need to be within 15 minutes of Arlington VA (Ballston Metro). My desired specifications: Min star rating: 3.5* City & Zone: DC (Arlington, VA) Travel Dates: 4/2 - 4/4 Room Rate/Night: $80 (Max) Amenities: Free Wifi Thanks again, and looking forward to hearing from you all. best, Noela
  19. Hello Folks, Attending a conference in Arlington starting this weekend. Started bidding for a 4* in the Arlington area from $50 all through $110, using all the numerous rebid zones, but failed. So I dropped my rating to 3.5* and my first bid of $50 was accepted: Offer price:$50.00/night Number of rooms:1 room Number of nights:2 nights Room subtotal:$100.00 Taxes & fees:$22.74 Total charged today:$122.74 Total charged:$122.74 Savings:You saved 81%* I am familiar with this property - hopefully, my stay is as enjoyable. Of course, I used the BB's PRICELINE links. thanks - Noela
  20. Thereuare, thanks very much, I went through the bidding process and got the Fairmont, with a bid of $100. 2 Nights total for $200, and with taxes, paid $239.58. Thanks very much for your support. rgds, MN
  21. Thereuare, Thanks very much for the update. I think the 4* Fairmont is close to what I would want though it is about 30 mins away by bus or 15 by car, but still manageable. So, I will want to try my hand at a bid, and if that doesn't work, then will go for the Fairmont Newport. So, please give me an idea of a bidding strategy up to $110/night for a 4* p/s: it is interesting that the 3.5* PRICELINE EXPRESS property is more expensive than the 4*. rgds, Noela
  22. Certainly, a different 3.5* to 4* in the same zone, and hopefully closer to the conference site would be acceptable. So, Thereuare, would it be better to wait until the update is done before trying to bid ? And will you communicate to the list that the update has been completed ? thanks - Noela
  23. Hello, I will be attending a conference which will be held in Marriott Newport Beach Hotel and Spa, a 4* property in Newport Beach, CA. Ideally, I would love to stay in the hotel. I realized that it is the only 4* hotel available via Priceline's Hotel list available on the forum here (Zone 17). So, if i filter out all the other 4* hotels in the area, will I increase my chances of landing this hotel through the use of the many rebid zones (1,2,3,4, 6, 9, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 19, 20)? What bidding strategy will you suggest ... my specific needs are: Star rating: 4* City/Zone: Newport Beach-Zone 17 Date: April 6 - 9 Room Rate: About $100/night. Thanks - Noela
