I actually called Hotwire to complain. Told them I wasn't satisfied with the bed situation and the fact that the hotel wanted to charge me for a sofa sleeper. After reading some reviews on this place, I figured the sofa sleeper wasn't a very good idea. I also told them that I felt cheated on the star status of this establishment. They verified that it was rated as a 2* on tripadvisor.com (3* on hotwire) and then offered to either give me a credit for $25/night or give me a full refund for the purchase price. I gladly took the refund and rebooked another hotel (see new post).

3* $54/night Candlewood Suites 895 Tabor Street Golden, Colorado 80401 Lakewood North - Golden Area This Hotel features the following amenities: Fitness Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Kitchenette Booked 3/28-3/30/2008 Unfortunately this room only comes with one queen bed, so be careful when booking....called the hotel to request 2 beds - said the best they could do was upgrade to another room with a sleeper sofa for $20 more. Also checked the ratings on tripadvisor.com and this place is only rated as a 2*! Lame!

Offer price was $79, paid a total of $94.83.

I bagged the idea of doing a hotwire purchase. For this trip it looks like we will be staying downtown @ 4 Queens (supposedly renovated). I booked through their website & got $99, $99, $51 for the above weekend.

We will be there to hang out with a group of friends/drink/gamble/etc. Just wanted something cheap for the weekend but would be willing to spend around $100/night

Circus Circus was my first thought after I posted...the only thing that threw me for a loop was the star rating. A friend of mine who used HOTWIRE and got stuck w/CC said it was rated as a 2* hotel....I'm definitely NOT going to take the chance. :)
