Thanks drizz. We won't be driving, so parking won't be a problem. Do you know if the shuttle will take you downtown, or to the stadium on game day? Their website says anywhere in a 3 mile radius, but maybe they will stretch it??
My buddy got us 3 rooms at the Courtyard Marriott Shadyside with a bid of $70 per night. It's about 4 miles from downtown, so not too bad. And, yes, I believe he used the PRICELINE link from this site.
We didn't really start out with a budget, but I think we were hoping for under $100. That being said, we might try going a bit higher and then consider looking at a couple of areas close to downtown. Do you think trying for 3 rooms is affecting our chances? Thanks.
My friends and I are trying to get 3 rooms in downtown Pittsburgh for Nov. 19th - Nov. 22nd. We've tried bidding for 3.5* and 4* up to $100 and 3* up to $85, but still have had no luck. I realize these are not overly high bids given the area, but i had seen lower bids being accepted on here in the past. Is trying to get 3 rooms at once hurting our chances? Would we be better off going for two then one?? Thanks for you help!
I've noticed that The Hilton Downtown Pittsburgh is no longer a Hilton property and is now called the Grand. Does anyone know if it's still used by priceline and if it's still at the 3* level? Thanks.
Landed the Fairfield Inn Grand Forks for a bid of $35... $45.99 with fees and taxes. Very pleased. I believe it's $95 normally and they recently renovated the rooms. Sorry, forgot to mention it is for this weekend - July 17th.
Lets say the city I want to stay in has 8 hotels that priceline draws from, all at the same star level, and 2 of the 8 would be considered cheaper and maybe less desireable than the other 6... Does a low bid mean your likely going to get one of the 'lower' hotels? If I bid $40 am I likely getting the $86 hotel? And if I bid $50 do I have a better chance of getting $100? Or is that not how it works? Does this make any sense?? :) Thanks!!
