  1. 3 1/2* Renaissance Orlando Airport, 3/31/13, $72.00 90% Recommended Amenities: Fitness Center Pool Restaurant Business Center High-Speed Internet
  2. Agree, the Marriott isn't a likely outcome, but was the only prior won bid I could find for PRICELINE. Think I'll focus on HOTWIRE. Right now HOTWIRE shows three 4* hotels for my dates, priced between $74 and $108, all well within my price range. I'm unfamiliar with the city and need to do more research on HOTWIRE zones, then will post again. Thank you for the feedback.
  3. July 4, 2013 Zone - Priceline only shows one zone in Copenhagen. Budget - of course, would like to spend as little as possible, and as it's several months out, there is time. Thinking $100 - $200. Found some old posts on various sites such as cruise critic naming won bids for the Marriott at $100 - $125, but nothing from the past two years.
  4. Hello, will need a 4* hotel for one night pre-cruise in Copenhagen, July 2013. Thank you!
  5. Ended up booking the new Hampton Inn & Suites at Gateway Village using credit card points. No cost to us, free breakfast and shuttle. But I'll return & try Priceline for a 4* next time. Thanks.
  6. Thank you, think I'll try a few bids on PRICELINE instead.
  7. Dates: 3/26/13 and 3/31/13 No other amenities. Thank you!
  8. Can anyone help identify this hotel? Hoping it's the Hyatt.. hoping it's not the Renaissance Orlando Hotel Airport, can't seem to find any recent wins. Thank you. 4* Orlando Intl Airport MCO area hotel Amenities: Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Hi Speed Internet Access Recommended in 90 % of Hotwire customer reviews
  9. 2.5* Hampton Inn Orlando Airport $32 - 3/30/12 First bid, $27, rejected. Second bid, $32, accepted. We're happy with the price. Amenities include airport shuttle & free breakfast. On our last 3 trips to the Orlando area, we won bids at $50 on 3.5 & 4*s, twice got the Marriott airport and once the Crowne Plaza (both were OK, but not exceptional + neither included the free breakfast) . Thought we'd downscale and see how it works out. We just need a place to sleep after a late flight, so it should be fine. Started with the PRICELINE link on betterbidding.com. Thanks to all moderators & contributors, it's a great help.
  10. Bid $50, 3*, airport zone. Date: 12/23/11 Got an "upgrade" to 3.5* Marriott Orlando Airport. Total cost $63.99 Clicked through the PRICELINE link on this site. Thanks, betterbidding.com! Can't complain, it's a good deal. We got this same hotel last time we flew into Orlando.... but we generally like Marriott and found this our least favorite. Hoping for a better experience this time.
  11. First bid accepted at $50.00. Used the PRICELINE link on the board - thank you.
  12. We are traveling light, our dinner options need to be casual as we won't have the clothes for anything too upscale. We'll probably be up early each morning & pretty active all day, so most likely we'll be eating early, about 6:00 or so. By evening we'll want to stick close to the hotel - although for a "don't miss" recommendation we'd go a little further. So casual with good food, and a bonus would be unique to Chicago, would be great.
  13. AaronJB, we leave in the morning and thanks to you I'm feeling well informed. We've decided to take the train from O'Hare. A few more questions. Can you approximate travel time on the Red line from the Lake St. station to the Addison Station (which is where we get off for Wrigley, yes?). Also, do you have any suggestions for good local places for breakfast & dinner near the hotel? Ideally we'd like a casual atmosphere & reasonably healthy food - but we're a bit flexible when traveling if local specialties aren't all that healthy.
  14. AaronJB, many thanks for the info & link on biking. We will be checking out Bobby's Bike Hike for sure. About the transportation - Ai, yi, yi..... I was looking at the Hyatt Regency closer to O'Hare. The one at 151 Wacker doesn't offer complimentary shuttle, but does offer transfers at $18 per person (emailed the concierge), which seems OK to me. Sorry for the erroneous post.
  15. Please disregard my question above about the limo price. Just came across airport to hotel shuttle info I missed on the Hyatt website & it's complimentary so we'll go with that. But I am curious, this info says the price for a cab from O'Hare to the Hyatt is $10 - $12. That seems pretty low; can it be accurate? AaronJB, your suggestions all sound terrific. We'll do as many as we can fit it. Also interested in the Adler Planetarium.
  16. Does anyone know how the Groupon limo price compares to a cab? Also, we'd be interested in biking if we can find a place to rent & bike trails that are convenient. Any suggestions? Thank you.
  17. AaronJB, thank you for the link to the station. We like to walk, so a hike to the station is fine. Thanks also for your offer to answer ?s, I do have another. We're flying into O'Hare, arriving a little after 3:00 pm. What would be your recommendation for getting from the airport to the hotel? Low hassle factor more important than money in this case, we're both new to the city & anyway, we're saving on the hotel:). If there's a train with no transfers, we might go for that. But if a train means we have to navigate, maybe a car service or taxi? And if there are any sites or attractions within walking distance of our hotel that you'd care to recommend, that would be great.
  18. Just booked 4 nights at the Hyatt Regency for $76 per night. Thanks to the Calendar of Wins on this site, I had a pretty good idea what I was buying. Our first trip to Chicago, going to see the Cubs at Wrigley Field - can anyone tell me if we're close to the Red Line? My first time using HOTWIRE, although I've bid successfully on PRICELINE in the past. Liking it so far. Thank you all at betterbidding.com!!
  19. Did you add a nite to the beginning or end of your stay? We added the night at the end of our stay, but either was available at the same rate.
  20. Just got the Marriott Waterfront for $74 a night. Bid for 2 nights & was offered a third at the same price, which we accepted. Dates are August 16th - 18th. Thanks to Better Bidding & previous posters!
  21. Are there any special tips for bidding for a flight out of a regional airport (SWF, Stewart Airport in Orange Co., NY)? I've tried Priceline bids in the past but no luck. Delta and US Airways both fly regional jets out of Stewart with one connection to my destination - Tampa. My travel dates are flexible over the next 2 weeks. Any advice appreciated!
  22. 4* Toronto - Sheraton Centre July 7 & 8, 2010 First bid rejected, $95.00 each night for a 2 night stay. Priceline offered to resubmit at a minimum increase of $20. $115.00 per night, so we went for it. This is a first for me, past bids for airline tickets always rejected and never got a counter offer. We're fine with this price, the location is just what we wanted.
