  1. Looked again and the 4* @ $101 was gone. prices have been fluctuating every time I check. I also bid up to $130 on priceline for 4 and 4.5* with no luck. Anyway, I splurged and got the 4.5* on hotwire for $152. It ended up being the Hyatt Regency San Antonio Full amenities listed after purchase are as follows - Free Internet Pet friendly Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Golf nearby Tennis nearby Spa services Accessibility Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Accessible parking
  2. The 4.5* hotel is now @ $150 so I don't think I'll be going that route. A 4* in the riverwalk area is coming up at $101 now. I clicked the green "full amenities" button and this is what was listed - FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access
  3. I'm interested in 2 hotels on Hotwire in the San Antonio Riverwalk Area for 8/14-8/16 #1 - $128, 4.5*, 95% recommend Free Internet Business center  Fitness center  Golf nearby  Pet friendly  Pool(s)  Restaurant(s)  Tennis nearby #2 - $100, 4*, 75% recommend  Boutique hotel  Business center  Fitness center  Internet access  Pet friendly  Pool(s)  Restaurant(s)  Smoke-free rooms I used your Hotwire Link. Thanks
  4. Yeah, im putting 4 to ensure 2 beds And it's actually $224
  5. Amenities Pet Boutique Indoor pool Fitness center Restaurant Business center Free Internet $220
  6. Correct, there were more amenities listed but I was confused as the abbreviated list is whats seen on the "hotwire list of hotels" section of this site. Full amenities are: Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower I'm still getting used to using this site. Thanks for your patience.
  7. Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Laundry Facilities (self-service) Bid up to $115 for 4* on Priceline and denied. Also, didn't see anything attractive on hotwire so I waited a week, checked again, and this was offered.
  8. Tried again today and success! $88, 3.5*, Downtown Denver, Amenities: Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Laundry Facilities (self-service). Crowne Plaza Denver. I used the HOTWIRE link and I'll report this win to the board.
  9. I ended up bidding to up to $115 that day and still denied. I'm looking into other options including the grand hyatt. Thanks
  10. Yeah, but still didn't fix my problem. I'm at $105 now and still denied. What hotel do you think I'd most likely get bidding at the 3.5* level.
  11. Done and done. Took your advice and changed my dates to 9/23 - 9/25. I figured I'd book the Monday (9/23) and Tuesday (9/24) through priceline and pay for Saturday at the same hotel with AMEX points. Got to $100 and still denied. Weird thing is when I added "evergreen" as a zone, which shows no 4* properties, The median price dropped from $222 to $180? I opted not to select evergreen as I was confused. Whats up with that?
  12. Took your advice on the rebidding zones and ended up at $85. Still denied. Am I booking this too far in advance for priceline to be affective? Also, any strategy on lower star hotels?
  13. At ths point I'd like to spend a max of $85 on a 4*. People in the forum are reporting $72,$77, etc. Again, I would take a step down in star level if the location was right
  14. Just started bidding yesterday for a trip 9/22 - 9/25. $60, 4*, downtown Denver denied. Going to try $70 tonight. I wouldn't mind staying at a lesser star hotel but see that most of them are further from the central business district as compared to the 4*'s listed. I'd like to stay as close to the center of downtown as possible. Any suggestions on a strategy?
  15. Booked this the day of...1 Bid $50 4* Galleria Very swank hotel. They even gave us a complimentary ride to the bar district in their Escalade.
  16. Sorry I'm actually searching 2 rooms 8 people to assure the double beds
  17. Did not end up booking through hotwire or priceline...
  18. Looking for 2 rooms in New Orleans Aug 16-18. There are 6 people going so I'm booking through hotwire to assure we get rooms with 2 double beds. I've got my eye on 2 hotwire deals can you help confirm or deny my guesses? 4* Downtown New Orleans $66 Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Internet I'm guessing Intercontinental but I'd be happier if it were the Sheraton 3* French Quarter $55 Fitness Pool Restaurant Laundry Internet I'm guessing it's one of the Holiday Inns but not sure which one. Thanks
  19. I bid $55 for a 3* in Lake Charles last night and was denied again. I'm going to go for $65 tonight and see what happens. The only other 3* (besides casinos) any site shows is comfort suites. Comfort suites is rated 2* on priceline. Would the priceline bidding rate the hotels differently? Would priceline possibly put me in the comfort suites even though their retail star rating is 2*?
  20. I'm looking at an area where PRICELINE only has one 3* hotel listed in the "browse hotel" - full price section. Should I assume that I will get the same hotel bidding 3* in the same area? If so how much should I bid off the rack rate? I bid $45 for a 3* on PRICELINE with no luck. I will try again tomorrow and post results on the priceline forum.
  21. Done. I always try to use the links on searches and booking.
