My dates are some sort of flexible depends on the availability on the redeem flight award. So far Oct seems very promising on the seat available and would like to visit NYC before it getting too cold.

Took a look at the PRICELINE hotel maps, seems like Chelsea only has 4* and up. Do you think it is possible to bid a room around $160? Currently priceline express deal has a 4* $166/night (restaurants, fitness center and business center) at midtown east. Any guess which hotel it is?

I saw another post around the same time as my trip and was told $160 will be unconventional. Would like to stay around Soho, lower east side or the new hip neighbourhood (if any of you have recommendation). Would like to know the typical/approx. cost around this time of the year? And should i wait until closer time and the price will be lower? Thank you Grace

Tried bidding 4* in MTW and UWS yesterday with mutil re-bid zone started at $120 and increments at $5. Stopped at $140. Today tried again with both areas (MTW and USW) with the same strategy, no luck. Then decided new bid on 4* with CPS, ESB, HK, and TS. First bid ($120) was accepted.

Typo on the Topic line It should be $125* not $130.

Used up all the re-bids zone in Dupoint (was hoping to get Hotel Paloma) and decided to try new zone for 4* hotel in Capitol Hill. Based on wins, most likely to win this hotel at $89. So i started at $70 and increments of $5 until 3rd re-bid zone i increased by $2 ($87). Got accepted on the 4th re-bid zone.

Checked the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins and the list of hotel in MTE was hoping to get W New York or Grand Hyatt (which both were listed Wins on 7/4/10). But no luck. Yesterday first bid $125 ($115 + $10 cash reward) got accepted. Should had start bidding lower to see if they accept it.

Yes, this is the replacement. The dates are not confirmed, as i'm flexible on the traveling date. I just want a good deal with a nice hotel.

Looking for at least 3.5* - 4* around $150 - $170per nite. Or should i try out PRICELINE?
