  1. HOTWIRE agreed to honor the reservation. Two rooms-3 nights-$42 per room per night total $280. July 25-28th. The hotel was the Shangri La at the Shard Thanks
  2. After watching for days we finally saw HOTWIRE had a 5* for $42 and we got the Shangri La at the Shard London. Total was $280 for 2 rooms for 2 nights. A week later we called the hotel and they did not have our confirmation. I contacted Hotwire and they said they cannot honor the deal and they used excuses as "their supplier' cannot get that hotel any more. The hotel is not sold out and I believe Hotwire should honor the deal ---since i am not allowed to cancel with Hotwire they also should not be able to cancel with me. The reservation continues to show up on my HOTWIRE account ---truly frustrating with Hotwire taking this position---I never knew they did not have to honor the deal and they still took my money.
  3. Hotwire booked my 5* Hotel at the London Shard but a week later the hotel has no confirmation? i contacted Hotwire and they said it would take 2-3 days---it's been over a week. Can Hotwire cancel me because the prices was too low? I have 2 confirmations from them and it still shows in my account on their web site but something strange is going on? I know I cannot cancel a reservation but---can they cancel?? That would not seem fair? Your thoughts?

  6. Thanks--not sure we would get the "crash Pad' which looks very small. Looking for a 4* or 5* for $150. Need 2 rooms--the other couple think we should book now but I generally wait for the last minute. Have you seen any common winners for the Mayfair area?

  9. As of today Priceline Express has a 5* on Princess Street for $164 with only 4 amenities--through bidding helper Business Center Free Internet Restaurant No-Smoking They also have one on High Street 5* for $154 with only 2 amenities Free Internet No smoking Both areas include bed choice
  10. Trying to determine the 5* hotels on both High Street and Price Street. Descriptions appear to be similar--I think one could be Caledonia and the other Sheraton which are both acceptable but I don't want to get something different-- Free Internet Business Center Fitness Center Golf Nearby Indoor Pool Pool Restraunt Smoke Free Has any other 5* appeared on either Hotwire or Priceline Express? Thanks
  11. Totally disappointed with Hotwire and promise never to use again. I could have used hotels.com and paid less. The total for Hotwire is $450 and Hotels.com--which they promote was $436!! Also hotels.com ranks this hotel as 3* and NOT 3.5*! I called to complain and they said they would refund $5 but not $14 as they don't refund the tax difference--so much for the price guaranty. i think Hotwire is very misleading in many aspects and should be avoided at all costs. i will stay with Priceline who has a much better reputation and is a more honest company.
  12. They emailed me and confirmed my reservation and said the following: "two Classic single rooms, each room having one single bed for one person only". I think I'll wait until we get there and see what happens--I just never expected a 5* to have rooms with twin beds--I think I will stay with PRICELINE who allows two people to a room. Thanks
  13. I went to hotwire to sign up for two rooms. i did not change the persons from 2 to 4. I selected a 5* hotel and it was the Westin. When I went to their web site to see the real price I noticed that they had plenty of rooms which only hold one twin bed! I thought all rooms would accomadate two people but I think I was wrong. I'll have to request the hotel for an upgrade when I get their or my wife and I can each take a room and have the kids sleep on the floor.
  14. I saw a 3* in Florence which had Boutique Golf Tennis Hi-Speed Internet Any idea who this is for $88?
  15. I just signed up for two rooms on HOTWIRE at $103. I forgot to put four people and left it at 2 accidenatlly--will I get only one twin bed? I went back the next day and put 4 just to see what would happen and it was $300! Cheaper to get two rooms at $103 each than 1 room for $300. Will they give me a double bed? We are a family of 4--I guess we could do with a twin for one night?
  16. I am going on the same date and ready to bid now. I have gone up to $245 for 3.5 and 4* all rejected. Willing to split dates 2 and 2. Will go to $300. HOTWIRE had a room at over $400!! I am also willing to go to 3* and will go for MTE,MTW CPS,EBS,MGS--can you advise? Thanks
