  1. I found out today that there is a resort fee at this hotel (even though it was not on the Hotwire booking site and the Hotwire representative told me there was no fee when I called before booking). I called the hotel direct and was told that every guest pays around $32. Then I contacted Hotwire again - - they said their web page for this property was wrong - it should have stated that there was a resort fee. I booked this property thinking there was no resort fee, based on their booking site and what the customer service person told me on the telephone. I did talk to a Hotwire Supervisor and she said they could not do anything about it... I would have to pay the fee. I thought the FTC requires booking sites to disclose a resort fee at the time of booking. Do I have any recourse? Yes, it was a good price for this property - - but doesn't look that great when you add on another $32/night.
  2. Just booked additional nights under a separate reservation, 3/30-4/3 for $103 night. No resort fees are listed on the Hotwire page. Used BB HOTWIRE link. I'm very pleased with this deal (can't believe it was a few dollars less than earlier) and look forward to staying there.
  3. It was the Encore as I originally thought and you confirmed. Guess I was a non-believer at the ridiculously low price, so I only booked the one night with intention of adding four more. I called Hotwire before booking and was assured there was NO resort fee. - - so it must be in the Tower Suites, because the regular Encore does charge a resort fee. Will try to add nights before March 30 and see what happens. If not, I have a back-up reservation at another hotel. The amenities were just like posted previously. I used BB and the Hotwire Easy View. Thanks for your assistance - - love the Easy View feature.
  4. Hi. Looking at 5-star, north strip. March 29-31. $106. Used the HOTWIRE link on BB site to begin my search. Thinking it's Encore because no resort fee is listed. What do you think? If Encore, I'll book it right away. Thanks. Amenities listed are: Free Parking Suite Casino Fitness Center Pools Restaurants Business Center Internet Access Golf Nearby
  5. Used BB HOTWIRE link to start search. Needed just one night for the end of a 6-night Vegas trip. Based on the amenities list and previous posts, I was fairly certain it was the Wynn when booking. I've stayed at this hotel before and satisfied with the price - with tax and fee the cost was $114.75. AMENITIES: Free Parking Casino Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  6. Just to close out this post - I ended up booking the Venetian direct and snagged a good price for an upgraded Rialto Vista Suite for my mom's birthday celebration with no resort fees!
  7. Hi. Here is the rest of the list with accessible items. Price is $107 now - was $109 earlier. Thanks. 8. Hi. Clicked through the BB HOTWIRE link to start my search. Looking at 5* North Strip for $109. 95% recommend. I'm thinking its Encore because the resort fee is $5 less than Ven and Pal, even though the amenities are similar. Please let me know what you think as I'd like to get something booked - I've never stayed at Encore and would like to try it. Thanks! :) Amenities: Free Parking Resort Suite Casino Fitness Center Pool Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services MISC ACCESSIBILITY STUFF
  9. Wanted to close out my thread by reporting that I stayed at Paris in a comp room. Couldn't obtain a 5* north strip hotel for the price I was willing to pay. Vegas was totally jammed that week - - maybe end of summer flings. There also seemed to be more young children than normal in the hotels and on the strip.
  10. I just wanted to chime in here and say that I stayed at Red Rock a few years ago while hiking the park. It is an awesome hotel - first class and very clean. Your kids will probably enjoy it. Movie theatres, bowling alley, kids gaming area and great swimming pool. Not too far from the strip. There is a hefty $25 resort fee - probably the only real negative about the hotel. I think they are running buses to the strip and airport for guests.
  11. Yeah Aaron, I'm a cheapie! I didn't realize the rates have stayed higher in Vegas this summer. Guess the economy is improving! Actually, I've got 5 comp week nights at Paris through their Total Rewards Club, based on my casino play, and Saturday, Aug 13 at $40. However, I would be willing to bid up to $75 for one of these 5-star north strip hotels to have a nicer hotel, closer to where I want to play this trip (poker room at Venetian). Then I would just cancel the freebie. Anyway, that's my plan. If I can't get a 5-star for that price, I'll just keep Paris and bring some good walking shoes. :)
  12. Just want to report that Priceline bids rejected today. Began bidding at $65 for 5-star condo north strip vicinity (trump). Rejected. Raised bid to $70 and added 5* strip north (Wynn, Palazzo, Venetian). Rejected and Priceline countered for $90. I know I've underbid, but based on past experience, Vegas in August is brutal and you can usually get some super hotel deals. Will try again as date gets closer. I've already booked a back-up strip hotel direct if the bidding doesn't work out. Used BB PRICELINE link to begin search. :)
  13. Amenities for the Microtel: Complimentary breakfast, fitness center, pool, high speed internet.
  14. Was seeking simple, but clean, overnight stay near LAS (arriving after midnight Aug. 12) before moving to strip on Saturday. Bid on Hotwire's 2.5 (near strip south) knowing it was Microtel, as I've stayed there before. Not fancy or upscale, but fine for a few hours of sleep. Used BB HOTWIRE link. :)
  15. Wanted to close out this post. Ended up booking an off strip property via Hotwire (Microtel Inn and Suites - Airport) for these dates. Used BB's HOTWIRE link to start my search and book the property. I posted the bid information on this forum's Hotwire board.
  16. I was hoping this was the new LaQuinta, which is also a 2.5*. However, it is the Microtel Inn and Suites Airport - across from the Outlet Mall. I'm satisfied with this more quiet venue as I'll be on the strip the other five nights. Reviews are excellent and there is free Internet, breakfast and shuttle. Total cost was $126.60: $53 x 2 plus $20.60 for fees. I used BB's HOTWIRE link to begin search and book the property.
  17. Started search with BB HOTWIRE link. Looking for a less expensive hotel for April 29-May 1, first 2 nights of a week long stay. Hotwire is showing a 2.5* near strip south with 100% customer satisfaction. Can you help me identify it please. Icons show: complimentary breakfast, fitness center, pool, high speed internet. That's all. Price given is $53 nt. for the Friday and Saturday stay. Thanks.
  18. Hi. I haven't booked it but I'll respond anyway - - I'm sure its the RIO - the # of restaurants and location is a givaway. Harrah's website shows a $49 RIO rate, so that is a good deal if you want to stay there.
  19. Used BB PRICELINE link to begin bidding for 5* on LV Strip. Yes, its a weekend, but this far out I did not want to go over $100. Bid $85 for 5* North Strip; not accepted. Added North Condo (Trump) increased bid to $87; not accepted. Added South Strip increased bid to $90; not accepted. Added Fremont zone increased bid to $92; not accepted. Will try again as date gets closer.
  20. This is a follow up to my previous post. Tried again on Priceline today and was able to get 2 rooms for 2 nights at $80. each for my son. First bid of $75 was turned down so I added Boulder as a free zone and upped bid to $80. It was accepted. I think this is a very good deal, considering the going price on various websites, including Lowes is $169 a night. Thank you for your help in clarifying the adding of zones to rebid. I accessed PRICELINE through the BB link .
  21. Ok. Went back and completed threads. Thanks for the reminder.
  22. I ended up rescheduling this stay so ultimately did not use Priceline. Thank you though.
  23. For this visit, I ended up going with someone and we were able to use 8 comped nights at the Venetian, (4 each) so didn't use Hotwire or Priceline.
  24. Hi. Started search via BB link. Trying to reserve 2 rooms at Lowes (Lake Las Vegas) for my son. First bid was $75. Rejected. Added Boulder Strip (free zone) and bid $80. Rejected. Tried to add Condo N. Strip but PL wouldn't let me uncheck the 5 stars, so couldn't use this as a free zone. I don't see the 4* Golden Nugget on Priceline anymore, so wasn't sure if downtown is a free zone for this? Any other free zones? Strategy? I would rather no go any higher since $78 was a successful bid by someone else. Thanks.
