$180 bid got Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers. I didn't use hotwire or Pricceline express deals, cuase every time I was needing help to ID a hotel. Deal was gone quickly and price went up.
I am flying in. Can you ID this hotel in Hotwire? Thanks for the help. $171 per night Magnificent Mile North - Water Tower area boutique 1.0 - 1.7 mi | Map 90% recommended Favorite! I cannot edit my previous post, so sorry I have to post another new comment. I went to $164 at still not luck on 4* Millennium Park, & North Michigan ave. Due to high price in DT Chicago, I might consider other areas to stay.
I included Millennium Park with North Michigan Ave in my bidding, still no luck at $136 for 4*. Only few zones left: but I don't know if Oak Park & Franklin Park has any 4* hotel. So I stop here. Looks like even 4* hotel might go up to $160 (or even higher) on these 2 days. Lowest price now in Hotwire is $182 and $183 in Chicago loop. This is slightly over my budget. Should I wait and try next week? or any other suggestions?
Thanks for quick reply. I am fine to spend more for 4* and *4.5* in DT Chicago as long as final price is less than $180. I'd like to stay in a newer hotel. I also want to avoid Hyatt Regency and also skip Swissotel. Just checked google reviews for Hotel Chicago: looks like it's also old and some comments are not friendly. Thanks, David
Want to book 2 nights in North Michigan or Millennium Park, but no luck at $144. Do you know this high price due to Pitchfork fest or this is normal in Chicago summer? I will probably try it again tomorrow. Any more tips? I am fine to go down to 4* hotels, but I am afraid, price is also close to $130 or even $150. Thanks, David
Tried 4.5* and my highest bid at $120 in the same zone but no luck. Decided to start over for 4.0* zone and got Swissotel Hotel at $75. It's a good hotel, but just in this cold winter, I have to walk little bit due to location of this hotel.
This will be my 3rd visit. Stayed in NJ in previous 2 times. Really pain to take a early train to NYC. I have been bidding for few weeks and though should be lucky to win hotels under $200. I am wrong! Not sure this is a good win but thanks for the NYC forum lots of suggestions...I probably should try $200 on CPS before I included it and jump to $215. How is this hotel though? I am going to a wedding on 8/6 in Central Park boat house. Will fly to JFK on 08/05 and leave on 08/07 Thanks, Mishima
Just cannot believe how expensive hotel prices are in August, especially in Aug 9 ~ 11 weekend. Due to really high prices in next few weeks, so changed my travel plan to Aug 23 ~ 25 weekend. Still cannot get any downtown Pike 4* hotel at $140 per night. Saw one 4* hotel at $133 in Bellevue in Hotwire. Finally got Hyatt Regency Bellevue at $115 - 2 rooms and 2 nights. I prefer staying in Pike market area, however, there are many good restaurants in Bellevue.

Will take my family to Vegas for 2 nights (2 rooms). Started from $90 and got Vdara at $105. Reviews are good. Happy for the result. However saw one 5* is $86 on HOTWIRE in the same time period. (The Strip - North area hotel). Any idea? tree666
Noticed SF hotels are pricey. So only tried 3.5* bedding. Jump from $100 to $115 and got Marriott San Francisco Fisherman's Wharf. Online Reviews are good and bad. Hard to say this is a good bid. Anyway, thanks betterbidding again!
Got Renaissance Seattle Hotel at $100 for 2 nights. I started at $60 w/ free bid zones. Try $95 (I jump from $90 to $100), maybe lucky to save a little bit. You can get 4* in Pike market area with $109 at Hotwire. That weekend is not cheap. It's spring, and baseball season. mishima
Will be going to Lollapalooza this summer and want to get a hotel early(at least 3 stars) in Grant Park and River North area. Any suggestion for bidding price for 3*, 3.5* or 4* ? I will guess $120-150 for a 3* hotel. tree666
I have to fly to Portland on Jun 23 (Thursday). Checked this forum and found out people got 4* hotels between $80 to $105 recently. I started to bid using $85, but no luck. I noticed even flight tickets are not cheap at this date. Finally got Benson Hotel at $113 after including almost all free zones. Read reviews of this hotel, people lived here before were not very friendly on their experiences. I will suggest you to try 3.5* instead of 4* (6/23-6/24).
