  1. Wow, this does NOT look like a 3* hotel (the only one on the PL list on this board is the Residence Inn, where I've stayed before, and which is nice). In fact, Best Western's are "examples" of 2 and 2.5* hotels on Priceline. Published rate for this (Friday) night is $99. Savings not particularly impressive, and earlier bids in the $55 range for the various Providence areas were not fruitful. Seems a similar hotel was available as a Priceline Express deal for $70. Interestingly, the 2.5* hotels in this area (e.g., SpringHill Suites, Fairfield Inn) are going for $150+ and are clearly nicer properties. Really disappointed with Priceline. I suppose there's no real recourse?
  2. Had booked Sheraton for SPG Cash & Points ($90) but figured I'd see if I could get the Marriott at a similar price (and no points) My first bid was $100, which is lower than any other bid posted here since it seems the Marriott went to 5*. Bid was accepted. Total price $115.49, compared to published rate of about $264 (weekend rate)
  3. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $58.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $116.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $23.66 (USD) Total Room Cost: $139.66 (USD)
  4. Couldn't get anything on or near the Strip (Saturday night) at 3.5* level, bidding up to about $80. First bid at $72 for 3.5* in LAS Airport region was accepted. Total with fees, $89. Hotel is considered 4*, so this was an upgrade. Published rate for this hotel is $120+tax = $134. Total savings of about 33%, probably could have done better.
  5. Was hoping to get this hotel in the $90 range based on precedent bidding here. Started at $85 and rejected. Added zones for free rebids at $90, $95 and $105, all rejected. Added Orchard Road after deciding that might be a better place to stay anyway. Bid $107 and it was accepted! Of course it was the Conrad Centennial though. So much for staying near Orchard Rd. Total cost $262. I bid through the BetterBidding PRICELINE link.
  6. Tried multiple bids for 4* couldn't get anything at up to $71. Did 3* at $50, rejected. Added Gloucester-Runnemede-Deptford NJ (only region without a 3*) and raised bid to $55 --> accepted Total price $70.65 with fees. Used BB link to PRICELINE at top of page.
  7. 5* Budapest Marriott $66 + ~$17/nt in taxes & fees :) 4 nights. First bid successful!
  8. First bid, BH-WH only, 3 stars, $65 rejected. Added Bel Air and raised bid to $71 rejected Didn't want any other areas (learned subsequently that I could have added Santa Monica with slim chance of being assigned a 3* at those levels) Waited 72 hours, re-bid for BH-WH $75, ACCEPTED!
  9. First bid, $80 for 4* Notting Hill / Bayswater...hoping for Hilton Paddington which I've seen on one of these boards once or twice. Rejected Free rebid, added Regent's Park / Baker St hoping for second choice Hilton London Metropole which has come up more frequently, upped bid to $85. Accepted! Just an overnight layover in London, so convenient access to Paddington was key as I didn't want to stay out by LHR (I'm arriving into LGW anyway, so I'd have to incur transport costs somehow).
