  1. $25 rejected Rebid $28 accepted 10/13-10/14 Gave option to extend stay with the same price per night. BTW, I think Hotwire had the same property for $31 but I missed the 6:00pm deadline to get that. I came out better on Priceline though, but with more work.
  2. I would like to add that the Sheraton is in the Central Birmingham bidding zone.
  3. Thank you for reminding me. I had multiple bids rejected. I will list them below: 3* bid up to $35 rejected 2.5* bid up to $36 rejected 2* first bid $35 accepted
  4. Your Offer Price: $35.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $35.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $12.10 Total Charges: $47.10
  5. Great deal. I bid $37 rejected, then I bid $40 Accepted. Your Offer Price: $40.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $120.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $25.22 Total Charges: $145.22
  6. Bid $55 - rejected, but got the chance to increase bid $15 more to rebid, but I did not do that. Bid $60 - accepted Once again, another great deal in DC. I also bid $59 for a 4* and was rejected. (probably no suprise there)
  7. Wow, I just checked and the 4.5* swag mentioned above is at $85.
  8. Disregard my post above. I booked with Priceline for the 19th-22nd for 204.75 through U.S. Airways. I saved 39%. The published fare is $335. I just decided to leave a day early. By the way, US Air did not have the cheapest published fare. Delta and Northwest both had US beat by $5 on their websites.
  9. I enjoyed this hotel. It came up in the Capital Hill/Convention Center area on Priceline. It was walking distance to Union Square and the Capitol building. The staff seemed professional, and friendly. There was plenty of street parking on the weekend. Do not waste the $20 or so dollars for valet, or you could park at Union Square for less than the valet cost. During the week it might be a different situation with parking. The room was small, but it suited my needs. It was incredibly clean, especially the bathroom. They put out the Washington Post in front of every door in the morning. There is a nice Irish pub downstairs called The Dubliner. It was very authentic, and I thought the drinks were very reasonably priced. $4 for a mixed drink. There were people sitting beside me at the bar with Irish accents, so thats how I can say it was authentic. Like I said, I was pleased. I also got a great bargain through Priceline. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.
  10. Expedia $334 Travelocity $334 Orbitz $336 But Hotwire has a clearance fare for $231. That is a significant saving over the other fares. I would really like to arrive in HSV before 6:00 pm. My questions are: 1. Do the Hotwire clearance fares iteneraries come from the list of "regular fares" they display on the other tab on Hotwire? If they do, would the clearance fare come from the very least expensive options on the "regular fares". 2. Is there a trend as to what time departing flights would leave on a Friday? I am not a frequent flyer so I don't know if a 6:05 am or 8:30 pm departure on Friday would be a higher demand ticket. (I would assume Hotwire gives you the less demanded ticket) 3. Does Hotwire have a preference between Northwest and Delta when the prices are the same? I will be sure to use the boards link when I purchase. Thank you in advance!
  11. I am thinking about buying this Entertainment Card to receive this $30 Hotwire coupon, but I can't find any information about when the deal expires. When do the 2005 Entertainment cards expire? Does the Hotwire deal expire at the same time? (By the way, when I say expire, I am not refering to the 30 day limit on when you can mail in your rebate form) Thank you in advance. I will be sure to use the board link if I decide to buy.
  12. Amenities include pool & complimentary breakfast. The going rate for this hotel was $199 per night. This is the first weekend of Jazzfest. I have read excellent reviews about this property, and it is VERY close to the casino and FQ. 2 nights + tax & fee = $229
  13. My search has ended. I ended up booking the 2.5* hotel I identified as the La Quinta Inn and Suites on HOTWIRE . $98 per night x 2 + taxes = $230 I have read excellent reviews on this property, and it looks like we won't have to take too many cab rides. Plus free breakfast. I will post my win on the Hotwire forum, and I used the board's link. Thanks for you help.
  14. I need to clarify my first post. My bid limit is $85 per night. My overall limit is $100 that includes taxes and fees.. Thanks for providing the HOTWIRE link Thereuare, but with taxes and fees it equals about $120 a night. I have bid up to $85 on 2.5* in CC, CBD, and FQ with no success(for 4/22-4/24). I am not to worried, because I think when the date gets a little closer some stuff might open up. :) Swag-Thanks for the info. This is going to be for a bachelor party so I think we will primarily be on Bourbon.
  15. 1. Is the Convention Center area or Central Business District closer/more convenient to Bourbon Street? My first choice is the French Quarter, but I am trying to keep it under $100 a night. So I need a backup plan if FQ doesn't pan out. 2. I want a 2* or higher for the first weekend of Jazzfest (4/22-2/24). There is not much data on 2* or even 2.5* on the web, so do you think I can find a bargain for this level of hotel? Thanks for your help, and I will be sure to post my P/L bids once I get some feedback on this post.
  16. I started bidding at $55-rejected, then I used the 1 re-bid at $60. Great bargain, and I can't wait to tour DC Your Offer Price: $60.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $60.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.65 Total Charges: $75.65
  17. Hi I am trying to put together a strategy for getting a hotel in Washington (Conv. Center/Cap Hill) 4/1. My limits are: 2*=50 2.5*=60 3*=75 I would prefer to stay in a 3* for <$75, so should I start my bidding there or start at 2* and work up.
  18. I bid $50-denied. Then $52-denied. Then $55-denied. . Then I won the room for $58. Thanks for the information about re-bidding without having to wait 72 hours. Check out the link below for this helpful tip Thanks! :) PRICELINE RE-BIDDING
