  1. Express deals showing for $76/night. I started bidding at $60 and increased by $1 and $2 increments. Won at $67.
  2. Started bidding at 60 and included the old town zone. I increased my bids by $5 intervals. Express deals had the same hotel for $81.
  3. Started bidding at 55 and worked up to 65. Good deal considering the PGA tournament will be going on then.
  4. Bid up incrementally to hit the jackpot at $95. The weekend before was so expensive we changed our plans to visit Cape Cod instead of Boston.
  5. Please add this 2* hotel to the list. Great budget option in a city that is pretty darn expensive! Amenitites: Smoke Free Rooms Airport Shuttle Business Center High-Speed Internet Access
  6. Bid 12 for economy first and was rejected. Then bid 13 for compact and accepted. I probably could have bid 12 on the compact to win.
  7. Thanks for posting! I'm looking at these exact dates, and have unsuccessfully bid up to $115. I guess I will wait it out and pray for some better rates!
  8. Started bidding @ 110 with ESB, CPS, and TS. Counter-offered for $140. I increased bidding increments $5, until I hit the Loews at $120. Excellent deal considering their lowest published rate that night is $299. Very satisfied. Appreciate this website! :) BTW, I bid MTE and MTW up to $155 with no luck.
  9. Started bidding 3.5 stars up to $80 with no luck. Moved on to a 3 star instead. Bid 60 for a 3 star. Denied. Priceline counteroffered for $17 more. I increased my bid $10 instead. Won at $70 on a Friday night with probably a cruise leaving or something (availability looks low).
  10. First bid accepted at $65. Hope I didn't leave too much money on the table. Can't believe the bid was accepted that low. Looks like regular rate that night is $231, so quite a savings nonetheless! Good luck fellow bidders!
  11. Started bidding at $60 and increased in $1 increments to get to winning bid of $65. Good deal for a Christmas night!
  12. Excellent deal. Saved about 40% based on the regular rates out there. Seattle Minivan Alamo $20 a day. Hotwire was listed at 28.95 a day, and I suspect it was Hertz.
  13. Bid using all 4* zones except for the 1 that started with a "B". Bid $70 initially, and PRICELINE countered with an offer of $103. I bid up incrementally to $95 and won. Still a good bargain in my opinion. I saved about half! Thank goodness for PRICELINE!
  14. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$110.00 Subtotal: US$330.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$46.97 Total Charges: US$376.97 I bid $100 for Central Rome. It was rejected then I added Vatican City for $110 and it was accepted. There is a chance I left some money on the table by not bidding Vatican City for $100, so you may want to try that. Nonetheless, I saved a heck of alot of money! The non-opaque price for this location is: Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): US$246.99 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: US$740.97 Taxes & Fees: US$78.48 Total Charges: US$819.45 Also for your reference, I bid up to $120 for 5* with none accepted.
  15. Good post. I'm not sure if I'll be using PRICELINE either. I'm not seeing tremendous PRICELINE savings in Paris like I've seen for London.
  16. 1st bid $56 Counter offer of $64 by PRICELINE Rebid at $60 Another awesome deal.
  17. Bid $18 for economy - rejected $20 accepted for compact.
  18. Thanks Lonestar. You're right. Its not worth the $30 savings to book with hotwire and all the trouble I could go through with them. Thanks.
  19. Sunset, thanks for the info. I'll try the 25% cut off the non-opaque price for the car.
  20. Lonestar, thats why I stopped the bidding at 147. More than 147 is not worth the booking on Priceline. There are zero undesireable RESORTS on the big island, so there is no risk of getting a stinker. Not sure if you are trying to come across helpful or not, but you are condescending. I posted as a guide for the readers that are looking for some recent data.
  21. Just wanted to post some info for the readers. I've bid up to 147 over the past month with no luck for the big island - Kona. I am expecting the Sheraton, and the non-opaque price is $179 and the hotwire price appears to be $166. I'm going to give it a while longer before I bite on the hotwire price, maybe something will open up between now and then. I guess the big island is experiencing the travel boom all the other destinations are facing. BTW, I have been rejected at $20 for an economy car rental from 3/18 - 3/23 and $32 rejected for a convertible.
  22. Multiple bids over several days. Used Hilo as the rebidding zone. $169 rejected $179 rejected $189 rejected $199 rejected $209 ACCEPTED Priceline had a non-opaque special rate for the nights I bidded for $267 +taxes and fees. I'll be on the Big Island for the whole week, but that hotel looks booked up for the rest of the days for now. I think I got a spectacular deal since the Mauna Kea is closed indefinately for repairs beginning 12/1. All the reservations from the Mauna Kea transferred over to the Hapuna Beach Hotel. Some say that these hotels sit on one of the best beaches in the world. Now I'll be on the lookout for good deals on hotels for the rest of the stay 3/18-3/23 (probably in Kona) and a cheap rental car for the week.
  23. I hope rates go down some. I've booked my flight to the big island for March '07. I am hovering looking for a great deal on the Haupuna Prince or Manueu Kea hotel.
  24. Several rejected bids. Finally accepted at $49. I can always count on Priceline for this property. This hotel runs $100+ on standard sites.
