I have been trying to lock a hotel down by the airport for a few days. Started at 35 and worked my way up most recently started at 40 and rebid twice before having the offer accepted at 49. I am not thrilled that it is a Ramada, but we are arriving late and leaving early so it should be fine. I used the PRICELINE link.

You guys really came through on this one! I was having sticker shock on the greater FLL area for the period referenced above. I am a first time Hotwire user (generally stick to Priceline) but this worked out great. This is the Golf location but from what I understand there is a shuttle that runs between the two hotels (beach and golf) on the half hour between 10am - 8pm. I used the HOTWIRE link. Was able to get this deal twice in the last week. Bid 50 and was denied, rebid Allen Park and added 2 dollars and got it for $52. Great looking property and fairly close to the highway based on the map. I used the PRICELINE link.

Grand Vista Hotel, Grand Junction, CO - Not really sure if priceline should be calling this a three star but I am hoping for the best. It was $35 plus 5 dollars bonus cash.

I stayed at the Diplomat a couple years ago on someone else's dime and when I wanted to go back I ended up at the Crowne Plaza via PRICELINE as well. I was disapointed but decided to go through with it. The Crowne Plaza turned out to be surprisingly nice and had a very nice pool area to lounge around for a weekend. It certainly isn't as grand as the Diplomat but at $66 you still got a good deal. When I stayed they even upgraded me to a room with a balcony regardless of the fact that I had used the PRICELINE negotiator. That should speak to the hospitality and way that that particular hotel does business. I would encourage you to go through with your plans even if you have to go to the Diplomat for a conference it is a short walk away (less than 5 mins).

This is an amazing deal. The place is right down the street from the airport and has shuttle service to and from the airport. It has a huge lobby, nice elevators etc. My only complaint is that I think the check in staff had a chip on their shoulder about the price I had paid. The answer to a decent amount of my questions was that such options were not available to "guests who book through third party websites." But for the price I can deal with a rude guy in the lobby.

I recently bid on two nights at the Marriott in downtown Detroit. This is a great hotel and is within walking distance of all the downtown spots including the casino, sporting venues and the river. $62 was my first bid.
