  1. Ok I've tried to bid 3.5* for $ 80, $90 and $95 and it didn't work. Should I try again tomorrow ? How ? regards
  2. Thanks! My doubt: If it doens't work and I lower for 3* I will be able to offer less than 100 for 3*, right ? Or I'll have to keep the $100 bid for 3* ? regards
  3. Thanks I'd rather try bidding in Priceline. Then I'll start with $100 for 3.5* and what should I do if it is rejected ? (PS: I also wouldn't mind staying in Hollywood or West Hollywood area, but I'm afraid of staying in a not so safe area)
  4. Thanks Colfax, The whole area would be ok. I just checked Hotline and they offer a 2* for $88 (high speed internet and complimentary breakfast). Any guess ? I think I might get something better in Priceline but I don't know how I should start bidding. thanks a lot
  5. Please, I'd like to stay in Santa Monica May 14 to 19. I'm willing to pay around $100 (of course, the higher the stars the better). I would stay in a 3* for a better price (around $ 80). I don''t want the 2.5* hotels or lower. How should I start ? What do you think I might get ? thanks in advance
  6. Thank you so much for your reply and advice. I'll probably give up this offer and keep on trying either in HOTWIRE or PRICELINE. I'll click both sites through here. I would like to stay in a hotel 3* or higher but paying maximum of $100, because I know I'll probably have to pay around $25 for parking. Last June I stayed at Sheraton Delfina (Santa Monica) for $100 through PRICELINE. I wonder if I would still get this deal this year. regards
  7. Please help me identify a Santa Monica - Venice - Marina del Rey Area 2* for $71 from May 15 to 19. -Complimentary Breakfast - High Speed Internet Acess best regards logic11
  8. Sorry, I forgot no mention. Rate: US$ 124 Recommended in 100% of Hotwire customer reviews (I was wondering if this could be Hotel Grimaldi)
  9. Can you please help me identify a 3,5 stars hotel in NICE (FRANCE) from April 16 to 19. It has: - restaurant - high speed internet Looking forward to your help. thanks!
  10. I'd like to thank you all, specially Colfax. I've just bid $100 for Santa Monica 3* and got Sheraton Delfina, which is a 3*, from Jun7 to 12. I'm really happy with the hotel I got! Thanks once again!
  11. Thanks Thereuare! I've just read some reviews about the Doubletree Guest Suites and people complaint about the freeway entrance they have to cross (walking) in order to leave the hotel as well as the high parking rates. I've just bid $95 in PRICELINE for Santa Monica *3 and it rejected and suggested a raise of $23 (making up $ 118). When can I bid again ? Tomorrow ? How much should bid ? thanks!
  12. Please, help me identify this 3.5-star hotel in Santa Monica - Venice - Marina Del Rey June 7 to 12 - $ 118 per night 3.5-star hotel in Santa Monica - Venice - Marina Del Rey This hotel features the following amenities: Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities Thanks in advance!
  13. Please help me identify this hotel: 4-star hotel in Near Strip South - $88 June 5 > June 6 (Sat > Sun) Casino Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Is it The South Point (if so, is it worth it ?) thanks
  14. Thanks I've bidded $100 for 4* hotels (north & south) PL rejected and suggested $200 (too high!!)
  15. Thanks Thereuare. I was thinking around $100 for the night of 06/05 > 06/06.
  16. thanks!! Yes, if it's a good hotel Westin would be acceptable. How could I bid to get it ? How much do you think I should bid ?
  17. Hello Colfax Thanks a lot for your interest. To tell you the truth all this hotel bidding has taken so much of my time and now I'm a bit delayed at work. I hadn't had time to check the motels in Trip Advisor. I was wondering if it wouldn't be better to bid closer to arrival time. What do you think ? An in the last resource I'd bid for 3 or 3.5 * and get the MDR hotels (besides boats, what else is there to do there? It's been some time that I've been to LA). I even checked a hotel in Hollywood (Hollywood Heights Hotel) and the fare sounded interesting ($ 119), but I really wanted to stay by the beach and I'd stay in Hollywood it it were "W" hotel, but I think this one must have a very high rate. Right now I'm trying to find a hotel for my last night in Vegas (06/05) and I think I chose the worst weekend to be there. Trying to work and find the hotels at the same time!! I have this page open and I check it all the time. best regards
  18. Thanks thereuare It was not possible to book this Mirage package through the website, I had to call them in order to get it. The problem now is this one night (sat to sun) June 5 to June 6. How much do you think I could bet to get a 4* (on the strip, either north or south) ? thanks!!
  19. I gave up and booked the hotel through the webpage. I decided to book Mirage from june 3 to 4, but it is a package with Cirque du Soleil Love show included (this is the reason I'm going to Vegas). Since the cheapest tickets are around $ 110 I thought it was worth it. Package (2 nights & 2 good tickets) $ 368 + tax + resort fee. Now I need a room from Sat to Sun (June 5 to 6) Thanks a lot for the help. I might try PRICELINE or HOTWIRE and I'll sure use the links from this site
  20. Thanks a lot Colfax! I had already contacted this motel and the rate is: $150.00 plus tax per night. I guess this a bit high for a simple motel. I'll check the threads in the Santa Monica forum on TripAdvisor and I'll try to find more motels nearby. Or just forget everything and try next week again ! I'll let you know what will happen and if you have any ideas in the meanwhile I'd appreciate. I want to stay somewhere where I can rent a bike and ride along the beach in the mornings and where there are restaurants within walking distance for dinner.
  21. Thanks Yellowdog What do you mean by "Sometimes can you undercut the PRICELINE offer." ? I'd spend up to $140 (taxes and fees included) for a 5* and $100 (taxes and fees included) for a 4*. Thanks once again for the help
  22. Thanks a lot. That's a good idea. Although I don't like changing hotels I think I'll try Monday > Thursday in Santa Monica e Friday & Saturday in a hotel near the airport or Redondo Beach. Are these hotels below that you mentioned close (walking distance) to 3rd St Promenade and the beach ? I was seeing the map and they seemed so far. Days Inn $131 Comfort Inn $147 Travelodge $120 Everything in HOTWIRE is too expensive.
  23. (Priceline) I've bidded $ 130 for Santa Monica 4* June 7 to 12 with no success. I'm afraid of bidding less and choosing 3* and getting Marina del Rey (too far from where I want to stay) Any suggestions ?
  24. Thanks!! I've just tried $100 today for 4 and 5* north strip and north vicinity. Priceline refused and suggested $150 (that's too much for me, because there are also taxes over such price) I'd stay in south strip. The problem is that if I bid $100 for 4 stars hotel in south strip I'll get Luxor (I cant get it for under $ 100 out of Priceline). All suggestions are more than welcome!
  25. Thanks for your advice AaronJB. I'd bid $100 if I knew I'd get a 5* either on north or south strip. I just wouldn't like to bid $ 100 and get Luxor (4* south strip) but I'd gladly accept 4* hotels on the north strip. Should I bid $100 for 5* north, south and north vicinity ? I don't mind not having a casino. Any other suggestions ? thanks!!
