  1. Update: due to a huge devaluation of my currency against the dollar, my maximum bid price had to be readjusted to $135. Couldn't get anything for that price. Fortunately I had a booking with Herald Square Hotel locked to my currency, so I will stick with it. Once again, thanks for your help!
  2. Tried bidding for a 4* without success. I browsed the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals list and one 3.5* property showed up for $89/night, but I couldn't close that deal. Got back to bidding and started at $80 which was accepted. Pretty happy with the price; cheapest one I found in that area was a 2* (Windsor Inn) which would cost 62% more. As usual, I started by clicking on a link from BetterBidding to PRICELINE. :)
  3. Hi, I need help identifying a 2.5* ESB hotel in Hot.wire for $181~$175/night (getting different rates every time I check) from 10/30 to 11/02. Full amenities: Business center Free Internet Free breakfast Restaurant(s) Smoke-free rooms Tennis nearby Internet access 80% recommended (4.5/5 guest rating) Thanks!
  4. Sorry, I was unaware I had pending follow-ups. Done! :) CPS would not be an option, then. I would go as far as $160 before taxes; there's a 2.5* in Hotwire (ESB) offering free breakfast for $181/night.
  5. Hi, I currently have a refundable reservation on Sheraton Tribeca for USD 223 before taxes. I'm looking for 3* and up hotels maxing at USD 200/night including taxes in the following regions: Central Park South Chelsea ESB Greenwich Village MSG Midtown East Midtown West Times Square Union Square - East Village Could you help me plan a bidding strategy? Thanks in advance!
  6. Amenities shown: Smoke Free Rooms Restaurant(s) High-Speed Internet Access Free Breakfast I could not get a winning bid for $130 at this area on PRICELINE. Found this offer at Hotwire and decided to take it, once again using this forum's HOTWIRE links.
  7. Winning bid was $160 plus a $10/night Priceline bonus. My rebidding zones were, in order: - Midtown West @ 140 - Times Square @ 145 - MSG @ 150 - Coney Island @ 155 - Long Island @ 160 Naturally I clicked on one of this board's PRICELINE links before starting. Thanks for your support!
  8. All bids failed. $78 to $113 (+7) for all 3.5* rebid zones. Tried two bids for 3* in USE and Richmond, $103 and $113, still no luck. Meh.
  9. I have 8 rebids (7 rebidding zones with 3.5* and another one adding 4* hotels). Starting at $78 up to $113. Let's give it a try.
  10. Facts: I do have a reservation @ The Beresford (free cancellation) for $129/night ($447 total + taxes). I'm looking to a 4* or 3.5* in Union Square East for a total of ~$400 tops including taxes. I have a $7/night Priceline coupon that expires today, so my max bid would be around $113/night for a total of $120. How should I proceed? Thanks for your help!
  11. I have booked a King Ocean View room @ Westin for $159/night using a promo code. I'll probably stick to it but will let you know if I change my mind. Once again, thanks for your support!
  12. Thanks! On the first screen, if I input any value below $110, Priceline says that "Based on recent data, your price has only a small chance of being accepted.". Made first bid at $110 and got rejected. Retrying on $5 increments up to $120. I'll let you know how it follows up.
  13. Looking at the calendar of wins, the Westin shows up with a price range of $90-235. Something around $120 seems reasonable for the dates I will bid (Jun 4th-Jun 8th). Should I start with $90? Search has already begun using this forum's Priceline search box. Thanks!
  14. Thanks for the heads up. This may not be (heck, probably isn't) the correct forum for this follow-up question, but here it goes: If I understood correctly, the Renaissance is rated as a 4* in PRICELINE, so bidding exclusively on the resort category would "almost certainly" avoid this property. Amirite?
  15. There you are, thereuare. :) Sorry about the delay.
  16. I'm sorry I haven't had the proper time to follow up on this one. I have booked Presidente Intercontinental (4*) through Priceline from 3/15/11 to 3/18/11. My first bid of $100 was promptly accepted.
  17. Amenities don't match any of the 4* in Hotwire's Hotel List. Here's the description: Curacao area hotel Amenities: Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Spa Services Any guess? Thanks!
  18. I'm pretty sure that this is the Renaissance because it's not a beachfront property. Palm Beach - Oranjestad, Aruba area hotel Recommended in 85% of Hotwire customer reviews Amenities: Resort, Free Parking, Near Beach, Casino, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services, Children's Activity Program I was looking to get the Westin, Radisson or Hyatt Regency. Should I try Priceline instead? Thanks!
  19. Could you guys help me ID this 4* Cancun North Hotel Zone area condo? It's listed at $109 on Hotwire from 3/14/11 to 3/18/11. Amenities: Resort (no resort fee) Beachfront Studio Fully-equipped Kitchen Smoke Free Rooms Free Parking Daily Housekeeping Air Conditioning Children's Activity Program Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center 24-hour Front Desk High-speed Internet Access Spa Services Condo Thanks in advance!
  20. Ended up nailing the Ramada Plaza New Yorker for $130. Pretty decent deal imo. Thanks for helping!
