  1. Sorry I never saw this request and message in my inbox. Here are the amenities from the 3.5* Hilton - Mystic: Amenities Free parking Free Internet Indoor pool(s) Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Self-service laundry Internet access
  2. I am so sorry that I never posted my results on this HOTWIRE purchase and hopefully this information can close this thread. We did travel to Cooperstown back in November 2014. It's now showing in my history that the property is 2.5*. This is what we got at the time: Best Western Plus Cooperstown Inn & Suites 50 Commons Drive Cooperstown, NY 13326 $68.00 per night Thank you, Scott
  3. Feb. 18-21 Was $434 *, sale $190 per night 56% off 4-star Hotel in North Scottsdale area 3.2 - 10.5 mi 85% recommended Great! Free parking, Free Internet, Resort, Casino, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Golf nearby This has to be Talking Stick Resort, right? It's the only one I see with a casino. Taking family (me, wife, two boys 13 and 10) and not sure we want to be at a casino resort, although this deal looks good.
  4. Got this deal for 2 nights (Thursday and Friday) in the city. Best rate on starwoodhotels.com (and Priceline view all deals) was $258. Priceline Express Deal for this hotel (4* with same amenities) was $163. Started "Name Your Own Price" bidding at 4* Copley for $130. Got the Priceline marketing "Counteroffer" message and wanted me to add $75 to bid again right there. No thanks. I added free rebid zones (that have no 4* hotels): Watertown for $140, Saugus for $145, South Boston for $150 and then Jamaica Plain for $152 and got it. Room subtotal: $304 Trip protection: $10 Taxes & Fees: $58.20 Total charged: $372.20 We know the parking will be steep but we're ok with that as we're splurging for a couple nights in the city with our boys. I actually added the Trip Insurance for $5/night just in case someone gets sick and we can't make the trip. Usually if someone is very sick, you can't go, and if you get a doctor's note then you can send that in, it's the only way a refund is offered on Priceline. In our case, worth the $10 for a $372 two-night stay.
  5. Thank you for the information. If it is indeed the Best Western Plus Inn & Suites, that property is listed as a 2* on PRICELINE. Even the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites is listed as a 2.5* on Priceline. I don't even see any 3* or 3.5* listed. Is it possible that HOTWIRE is bumping up these star levels for the same properties? 3.5* seems pretty overrated for a Best Western Plus. I actually just looked on the sister site MAPS.HOTELS and it brings up Best Western Plus as 2* and Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites as 2.5*. Same as Priceline. Just confusing why Hotwire is showing 3.5* when there clearly isn't one there.
  6. Hot Rate is $69 for a one night stay Friday 11/21, checking out 11/22, for 2 rooms for 4 adults/4 kids. Amenities list shows: Free Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Self Service Laundry I couldn't find a Cooperstown area in the section that lists what hotels have come up before. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Scott
  7. Glad to grab this property. Great location. Two day trip to relax with our boys. Aquarium is across the street. Olde Mystic Village and some great restaurants are walking distance across the street. Mystic Seaport and downtown Mystic is about a 5 minute drive. We can shoot up to Watch Hill or Misquamaquit Beach or even to Mohegan Sun if we so choose. Not sure why Hotwire has upgraded the Hilton to 3.5* as you still have it listed is a 3* on BetterBidding, as does Priceline. I like the fact that Hotwire knows I have 2 adults and 2 children and is basically guaranteeing a room with 2 double beds. Priceline doesn't do that although I've never had an issue getting a room with 2 doubles when 4 of us are traveling.
  8. Almost positive this is the Holiday Inn - New London. I've been trying to get the Radisson-New London for 8/7-8/9, and knowing the amenities that somebody else listed it having, the Radisson isn't showing up. The 3* property that is showing up for these dates, for a very good $59 rate, is this one you're trying to identify with the fitness center, restaurant, pool, etc. Relatives of mine have stayed in this Holiday Inn and I'm not sure what the reasons are, said it was a dump and asked to leave. I would definitely check out the reviews on TripAdvisor or elsewhere. Just my $.02.
  9. So after I just posted that last message about trying to identify a 3* St Pete Beach hotel that's showing for $182, I found this deal and purchased it. It's weird. When I searched Hotwire for 2 adults and 2 children, the 3* for $182 came up, and not this 4* property. But when I changed the search to 2 adults, 0 children, this 4* Resort came up for $131. It turned out to be the Don Cesar. I know families stay at the Don Cesar and am wondering why it wasn't coming up when I searched for 2 adults, 2 children. We know the rooms are smaller at this resort since it's an older building, but all the other amenities are fabulous. If we can upgrade to a junior suite or something a bit bigger on our own for another $50 a night or something like that, we probably will. At the very least we should be able to get a room with 2 double beds, and that will be sufficient for us. The complete list of amenities at this 4* property are: Resort, Beachfront, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services, and Children's Activity Program. This forum has been very helpful in our travel research and purchasing vacation hotels. Thank you.
  10. Hello. Last year I got the 3* Sirata Beach Resort for $109 from 4/13/08 - 4/18/08 for 5 nights. The property's amenities were Resort, Beachfront, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High speed Internet Access, and Tennis Nearby. We were hoping to get the same place for our vacation this coming April 2009. Unfortunately the same week this year is Easter time, so rates are a lot higher. Anyway, I was about to purchase the 3* that's showing on Hotwire at St. Pete Beach for $182 (dates are 4/12 - 4/17), but I just realized that it doesn't show the Resort amenity or the Tennis Nearby amenity. Is this still the Sirata? The amenities this property is showing are: Beachfront, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, and High-speed Internet Access. Did they change some of the listed amenities or is this a totally different property? As I look at the list of Hotwire hotels in this St. Pete Beach-Treasure Island zone here on betterbidding, the only 3* that is listed is the Sirata. I'm just confused. Now there's a 2.5* showing up for $185. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Scott
  11. We decided to take our very good chances and book the 5 nights together. It is the Sirata Beach Resort, so now it can definitely be confirmed on the forum. Check-in: Sun, Apr 13, 2008 at 4:00 PM Check-out: Fri, Apr 18, 2008 at 11:00 AM Sirata Beach Resort 5390 Gulf Blvd Saint Petersburg, Florida 33706 (727) 363-5100 Hotel 1 room(s) @ $109.00 per night x 5 nights $545.00 Taxes and Fees: $72.33 Hotel Subtotal: $617.33 We're pretty happy. Maybe could have gotten it for less on Priceline, but could have definitely had the Beachcomber or Grand Plaza come up there. We wanted Sirata and got it. This is a great resort price during school vacation week. I'll be sure to check back after our trip and let you know about whether there are Spa Services or not. Thanks for your help! If somebody could, please change the title of this post to reflect the name of the hotel (3* Sirata) and the price ($109) and the dates (4/13-4/18). -Scott
  12. I'm trying to get the Sirata Beach Resort for 4/13/08 - 4/18/08. Looks like somebody was asking about this same Hotwire hotel a few months ago. The replies suggested it was the Sirata, but not positive because of some Spa icon. There is no Spa icon coming up on this hotel in question. 3* - St. Pete Beach-Treasure Island. $109/night. Says retail is $157. (Problem here is that I find the Grand Plaza Beachfront Resort on Hotels.com for $157 and I don't want that hotel.) The Sirata is coming up on Hotels.com for $179. Amenities listed are: Resort, Beachfront, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, High speed Internet Access, Tennis Nearby. I usually use Priceline, and I know several people have gotten the Sirata recently for $55 or so for stays in November and December, but we're looking at a busy school vacation week in April and the rates are higher. I know that Priceline also has Beachcomber Beach Resort, Bilmar Beach Resort and Grand Plaza in their inventories, and we don't want to chance getting the Beachcomber. It doesn't have good reviews anywhere we've looked. If we definitely knew this $109 HOTWIRE was the Sirata, we'd buy right away. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
  13. I am also trying to find out about this 3* Condo-Resort in Chatham-Brewster on Cape Cod. I am thinking it very well might be the Ocean Edge Resort and Golf Club. Can anyone confirm this? This is the only Resort that's come up in the Brewster zone on Priceline in the past. My dates are 6/3-6/5 and it comes up for $168/night. Amenities listed are: Condo-Resort, Kitchenette, Restaurant, Pool(s), Fitness Center, 24-hour Front Desk, Children's Activity Program, and Golf. Thank you.
  14. Sorry about that. Here is the full list of amenities for the Sheraton University Hotel and Conference Center (Central Syracuse 3*) - Airport Shuttle - Restaurant - Pool - Fitness Center - High Speed Internet Access - Business Center - Laundry Facilities (self-service)
  15. I was so confident that this 3* Central Syracuse hotel on Hotwire was the Sheraton because of the pool amenity, I booked it this afternoon. Success!!! Here's what came up for $87 night (lowest available online is $129.95, and Priceline had rejected me up to $95, which is odd). Sheraton University Hotel & Conference Center 801 University Avenue Syracuse, New York 13210 (315) 475-3000 Please add to your New York hotel list. I'm not sure what the 4* in Central Syracuse zone is.
  16. oh, and one other thing... I have received counter offers on Priceline for this specific 3* University zone, so I know the Sheraton has got to be available. First it was a counteroffer for adding $17 to my $60 bid. I actually did that and then they came back and said "due to hotel inventory changes" there wasn't a room. Then again I received a counteroffer in starting a bid at $75 (and then at $80). Both of those times they asked to add $22 more. I haven't done that as yet as I've been trying free re-bids and I've gone up to $95. So I haven't actually gone up to the $97 or $102 Priceline was looking for in the counteroffers.
  17. Thanks for the reply. I will add that I've done a little more research and there aren't any other 3* or better hotels in the Central Syracuse zone that have a pool. This leads me to believe that it's got to be the Sheraton.
  18. Hi, this is my first time posting. Looks like a great board! I am going to be in Syracuse from 3/4-3/6 and I really need to stay at the Sheraton on the University Hill. I didn't see any Syracuse hotels listed in the Hotwire hotels page for New York. Can anybody tell me if the Sheraton has ever come up for Syracuse? I know it's the only hotel in the University zone on Priceline (but I haven't had any luck in landing it through them yet). Currently when I check hotels on Hotwire for those dates in Syracuse, there are two zones coming up - Carousel Center/Hancock Airport and Central Syracuse. Looking at the maps, I know the CC/Hancock area is North Syracuse and the Sheraton is NOT there, and it looks like the Central Syracuse zone is equivalent to Priceline's University zone. There are 2 hotels that are available: a 4* Best Value for $99/night and a 3* for $87/night. I'm thinking the 3* may be the Sheraton since it shows a pool under the amenities and the 4* does not show a pool. This would be a great rate since the lowest available online is $129. I really just want to be sure before I book. Thoughts? Advice? Funny thing is I've actually bid up to $95 on Priceline and still haven't gotten anything for 3* in the University zone. Thanks, srgreene
