  1. Thanks so much for getting back to me. Darn! The Doubletree won't work as they prefer to be close to Earls Court train station (stayed in area for previous visit). 1 bed is ok if room is handicap accessible. If room is not accessible then 2 beds would be required... I had figured I'd book and call the hotel later.

I checked HW and didn't see anything great, so I may just book directly since we have so many restrictions - especially regarding location.

  2. Hi All,

It's been forever since I needed to book hotels, so am very rusty...

I'm trying to find something in UK London in the "Kensington - Earl's Court" for under $80 usd. We need 1 room with 2 beds - singles are fine or handicap accessible... I was looking at PL deals and see a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for 4*  Kensington - Earl's Court" for $75 usd

     Business Center

     No Smoking Rooms/Facilities

Good: 7+ 10 verified guest reviews

Could this be Dorsett Shepherds Bush or Best Western The Boltons?

Any suggestions? My brain was too mushed to try to figure out a bidding strategy.

    Thanks in advance!

  4. I've stayed here over the years... Just wanted to add that we stayed here in May, in one of the newly renovated rooms. WOW! REALLY NICE! Modern decor and very spacious. More of a Hudson Schrager/ W style /NY modern decor. I stay at many hotels, especially in MTW/MTE area but due to this renovation, Grand Hyatt, is definitely my new favourite. Rooms now have small foyer, bathroom off to side (still small, but nicely decorated), walkin closet, small seating area with chic loveseat, lamp and coffee table. All electronics are digital, even the light switches, which took me a minute to figure out, so I shudder for a middle aged/senior citizen. Since you can not manually adjust the lighting/lamps to your preference it's hard to personalize - also the lighting in general is more of the darker mood setting style. Works well with the room, but may not be to everyone's taste. Upon checkout I had to ask if my room had been upgraded and was informed that our room was the regular king - very impressed!

(I took some pics and will post if I can figure out how to)

  5. Been trying to get a decent 3.5-4* for under $199 for the above dates in MTW, MTE, Times Sq or ESB for the last 2 weeks using HW and PL with no luck. Best I could find was 3* MTE (Radisson?) for $180 on HW. Was just about to request assistance, when this property popped up today. Before confirming, I attempted to try PL for $151 with no luck, so went with HW's $165. Very happy (and relieved)!

  6. Purposely bid for this hotel as it's nightclub/bar/lounge social scene is nice/highly sought this time of yr (NY Fashion Week & US Open), so won't have to worry about nightlife. The rooms are tiny and it's not a fav hotel of mine, but the social amenities can't be beat, considering I will only be in room to sleep and shower it's worth it.

Looked at prior bids, 1st bid $169 CPS was accepted (Strategy was to rebid up to $176 adding Coney Island, then Long Island City, then Upper East).
