PRICELINE accepted my first bid at $33 (I also saved 5% or $1.65 with the coupon code SUMMER), with taxes, fees, and coupon it came to $44.11. HOTWIRE quoted what looked to be the same property at $38, would have been $51ish with HW, so I'm happy.

Looks from past posts that this has fluctuated back and forth between 2 and 2.5 stars. It's 2.5 now, as you can see. Also interesting, I don't know if this is old news but I haven't used Hotwire in a while so I'm out of the loop - on the initial results screen with the hotel choices, this listing had a special icon stating "Risk Free Booking" and a pop-up stating that I could get a refund if I call within 24 hours post-booking. I think we're going to go with it (some of the reviews are pretty sketchy but it sounds like it's improving), but I thought that was interesting. Or, make that $25. When I went to cancel my original reservation, the online confirmation was for a lower rate than when I originally booked. Which would have been a nice surprise, but saving an extra $25 is even better.

You've probably booked something by now, but I just wanted to share that I was able to use LMT to book the Bonnet Creek Hilton just prior to Thanksgiving for about half of the price listed directly. There were also a fair number of suites and timeshare-type properties that came up during my search, which might work better for a larger family. Basically, it's a tedious process but by IDing the properties and keeping TripAdvisor at the ready, you can get an idea of how to narrow it down. Also, I was just able to book the Atlanta Marriott Marquis for the night before the Georgia Marathon, saving $60 off the marathon rate that I'd already booked there. :) Thanks to everyone for this tip!
