  1. We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Crowne Plaza. It looks like they've finished the remodel and now it's a very nice hotel. The lobby is gorgeous and comfortable. Our flight arrived in Phoenix late and we had a hard time finding the hotel (we were tired and Mapquest wasn

  2. I decided to give this one a go again, having been rejected 4 days ago at $45 for the same - a 2.5* by the airport.

I started at $42, expecting to go up to $47 on my next bid, and voila! I was accepted on my first bid at $42. Of course, if I'd had any suspicion of an acceptance I would have started lower. But no complaints! Rooms are going for $125.10 on their website, and reviews have gotten better since the recent renovation.

So my experience goes to show, if you're not getting your price and have the time, patience really pays off! Four days made a big difference to me! :)

  3. Thanks for the well-wishes, thereuare! It should be a great trip. Every hotel on my vacation except one will be a priceline hotel. I love being able to stay in nicer places for lesser money. No Days Inn for me this trip! :)

Too bad the grand canyon isn't giving out priceline rooms for a reasonable rate. I got rejected on a $40 bid for a 2* in G.C. (Holiday Inn Express) on 3/10 when the 2 week advance rate is $60! And Priceline was giving me a hard time for a lowball bid. Just how much do they want me to go up in bid?? I booked directly and got a $60 rate for the room I wanted (i.e. nonsmoking). Otherwise PL has been giving me awesome deals!

Thanks for everything and I'll post reviews when I get back. :)

  4. I really lucked out on this one - it's great to get a nice place in Sedona without spending a fortune!!

Funny thing -- ever since this afternoon when I won, I thought it was the Poco Diablo. Seems like everyone had been winning the Poco so I just assumed that's what I got. When I started to type up this review, I looked at my itinerary to spell Poco Diablo and realized it was the Hilton - horray!! I'm thrilled!! :) A very nice surprise. :)

Anyway, my bidding started at $60 for a resort in Sedona and was rejected. PL countered to $77. I upped my bid to $65 (free re-bid) - success.
