I saw that the Hilton Garden Inn Chelsea was coming up as a win on Priceline. If I bid and won a 2.5* in Chelsea, I could get it or the Holiday Inn Express, both of which have queen, king and 2 beds. I may try to place bids there (knowing that there may be a third hotel that will come up). $149 is the highest I will pay.
In the meantime, I made a reservation on Quikbook at the Wyndham Garden Midtown Convention Center for $149 per night. Is this the same as the Wyndham Garden Times Square South? If so, it's rated #16 out of 411 hotels rated on tripadvisor.
Is this possible? I've already bid up to $125 for a 3.5* in ESB and to $140 for a 4* in ESB. I was targeting ESB because there were a few good hotels there that would've been nice to win. I also am concerned about bed size. I am traveling with my mother and would like to get 2 twins/doubles or a king. I know how iffy that can be with PRICELINE, but it seems that some hotels are more open to requests than others. Suggestions?
Unfortunately, does not work for NJ. It appears that there is a parking garage at 10 Exchange Pl. with Central Parking System and it looks close. The website says to contact the city directly to get a rate. Anyone here know the rate?
Bid 4*, $65-90, all rejected Bid 3.5*, $65-90, all rejected Bid 3*, $65-80, accepted at $80 Am very happy with this win. I don't know which I will get - Luxe or Lite (although I expect Lite). I will post a follow-up. Used PRICELINE link above.
After a starting bid of $55, used two free re-bids to get Marriott for $65. Room currently retailing for $284. Used PRICELINE link here. Thanks again, BetterBidding!
I first bid from $50-65 for 3* in Joliet and Tinely Park with no luck. Then bid $50-65 for 2.5* including Hammond, Tinley Park, and Mattison. Finally got a win at $65. Courtyard Hammond's website lists $120/night. Courtyard By Marriott Hammond 7730 Corinne Drive Hammond, Indiana 46323 219-845-6350 Used BB PRICELINE link for all bidding.
Sorry my original post was such a mess. I placed one bid of $55 for 2.5* in Crystal City zone (having given up on 2.5* in Alexandria-Old Town zone after bidding up to $70 - all rejected). I won on that first bid.
Thanks thereuare! I gave this a little more thought and did a little more looking. The rates on Hotwire were $105 for 7/1-7/3 and $79 for 7/3-7/4. I appears very likely that the hotel on Hotwire is the Hilton. With that in mind, I rebid for just 7/3-7/4 starting at $65 and increased by one dollar per bid. I won the same hotel (Hilton Alexandria Mark Center) for $69!! So for 7/1-7/3, I'll probably have to go up to approx. $90-95 to get a win on Priceline. I plan on trying again tonight when my 24 hours is up. I'll post my results. For any bidders reading this, I did take into consideration that I might get a completely different hotel and was willing to live with it. I'm very fortunate that this has worked out so well! Thanks again! (Used PRICELINE links for all bids)
Ok. I followed the above and got the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center for 6/29-07/01 for $65! I got the "click here to extend your stay" button, but when I tried it offered the room for additional nights at $100 each night. So if I want to TRY to stay in the same hotel, I'm now willing to go up to $75. Would you mind providing me with a new strategy for the additional nights? (BTW, I did not do the last set of bidding (7/2-7/4)). Used BB PRICELINE link for ALL (and that was a lot!) of bids.
Yes, I'd like to start with a 3* first, then a 2.5*. My next best deal would be the Hotwire 3.5* for $89. I was thinking $70 would be my limit for both 3* and 2.5*.
