  1. Got the Hyatt Place, which is what we wanted. Decided not to try in the Blue Ash area since there were many other 3 stars which we probably would have ended up with. Started at $50/nt for Kings Island area (declined) then KI + Fairfield area (no 3*s) - $55/nt (declined) changed to KI + Ft. Mitchell (no 3*s) - $60/nt (declined) Then all 3 - KI + Fairfield + Mitchell - $65/nt (accepted!) Thanks for your help. Better bidding is always where I go first! FYI - When I created the thread, I actually did it wrong. Dates are 8/2 - 8/6.
  2. Please close this thread. I will be creating a new one with my finalized deal (which was a bit different then what I was originally asking for).
  3. Thanks for the info. I do have a question, what would Zone 2 be? I am having trouble finding a zone that doesn't have a 3-star.
  4. Would ideally like to get a Hyatt Place in Cincinnati or my dates (8/2/12 - 8/5/12), but that might be tough. We highly prefer the Blue Ash area and definitely need 3 star or higher. Budget is up too $75/nt. Any help with a bidding strategy would be greatly appreciated. Also, if there are any clues I missed that would give an idea of what the 3 star in Blue Ash for these dates is, that would be great too. Thanks!
  5. Ended up winning the bid for $85 a night for 8/5 - 8/7 (Friday and Saturday). The 2 star hotel is: Holiday Inn Uniontown 700 W Main St Uniontown, PA 15401 Bidding went as such: $52/nt $62/nt $72/nt $79/nt $85/nt - accepted Of course, I used the PRICELINE link :)
  6. On Holiday Inn's direct site they have it listed at $127/nt.
  7. Amenities included: Comp Breakfast Fitness Center Pool Business Center Laundry Facility High Speed Internet Access Kitchenette
  8. Sorry...you are correct...the $115 is not correct. The Fairfield is $135 and the Holiday Inn is $144. Let me also correct that my max bid is not $70...more like $120. I am just hoping to get around $70 since these are both only 2 star. Can you please suggest a strategy?
  9. Well, since my 3.5 star didn't work out, I decided to go with a hotwire deal on a 3* in Dublin for $53/nt. It ended up being the Chase Suites Hotel. Of course, I used your HOTWIRE link.
  10. Was hoping for the Hyatt Place, but am happy with this deal. $53 a night for Chase Suites via HOTWIRE link. We will get to try something new. Thanks!
  11. Went up to $70 a night on the 3.5 star with no luck. I guess I will give the 3 star a try. What would you suggest a starting bid be at?
  12. I think I will try the 3.5 star in Dublin up to 70. That way the board can have a newly reported hotel too if I clinch it. What do you think as far as starting bid and increments?
  13. Best published rate I found was 115 a night. I was hoping for under 70 / night / room, but I am not sure how reasonable that is.
  14. Just another note...we are happy to use either PRICELINE or HOTWIRE...but it doesn't look like hotwire has any nameless deals in this area. Again, I appreciate your help!
  15. Ideally, under 55$ night. We would be happy to go up to $70 a night for the hyatt place or Embassy Suites...since a@larger suite appeals to us as we have 2 kids. Also, if these budgeted amounts don't seem reasonable, our dates are flexible if it helps. We do want to stay away from the 3.5 star Crowne Plaza in North Columbus as we stayed there a few months ago and it was quite dissapointing. Thanks for your help!
  16. Ideally, we would like to stay in the Hyatt Place, but I know that there are quite a 3 star's in Dublin. What would you suggest an opening bid be and what increments are best? We are also open to try for the 3.5* in dublin (which I believe is the Embassy Suites), but again, I am not sure what amount to bid. Thanks!
  17. From the forums, it looks like this would most likely be a Fairfield Inn or Holiday Inn, which we are fine with. We need to stay in this area, and there aren't any higher rated hotels. We are staying for 2 nights with 2 rooms. I used your link and tried $52/nt/room...but that was rejected. What would you suggest our bid increments be? Thanks for your help!
  18. Was looking to stay @ the Hyatt Place..Thanks to your forums, allowed me to get what I wanted...started out @$35 for 3* raised to $45 and got it. Probably could have gone a bit lower, but we had to firm something up today. And I used your PRICELINE link, of course! Thanks again!
