  1. I ended up trying PRICELINE (using the Better Bidding links, of course) and starting at $45. I went up in increments of $45, but I was determined to stop before I hit $75 because it looks like it looks like I can get that price via Priceline Express. By using rebid zones and increments of $5 or $6, I was able to get the Omni Orlando Resort for $71 for this period. Thanks for your help.
  2. I think, most likely you're correct that it's the Omni. Is it possible that the Gaylord is back to 4* and no longer lists "Resort" in the amenities? I'm asking, because there only other 4* and higher hotel in the area is showing as $142/night. It's amenities are similar, but when you click on the details, you see that it charges a resort fee of about $15/night. The 4 1/2* shows a similar charge, but says it's about $20/night. From my other research, the Omni has an $18/night resort fee while the Gaylord has a $16/night resort fee, so it seems logical that the Omni is the cheaper hotel coming up on Hotwire. If I change my tactics and use Priceline to bid on resorts in same area, do you have suggestions for a reasonable bid? I see that the Gaylord has been taken for as low as $45. Thanks!
  3. Looks like a good price on a 4.5 star Disney Main Gate Resort, but can't tell if it matches the Omni or the Gaylord as the amenities don't quite fit either as listed in the Hotels.com list on this website. Amenities: Resort Pool(s) High Speed Internet Access Spa Services Free Internet Wheelchair Accessible Roll-in Shower Smoke Free Rooms Restaurant(s) Golf Nearby Accessible For the Blind Accessible Path of Travel Accessible bathroom Fitness Center Business Center Tennis Nearby Accessible for the Deaf In-room Accesibility Handicapped Parking Any way to determine which resort? The Gaylord would be a much better bargain, at this rate, of course. Thanks *I used the HOTWIRE link from this website to do the search.*
  4. Our preference would be the least expensive in the 3 1/2* to 4* range, so I'll probably try the Berkeley zone first then expand to the Concord zone as a subsequent bid. If I can't get anything in those zones, would I try the 3* in Oakland.
  5. Looking at bidding on a nice hotel in the Oakland area. Considering the following zones: 3* Oakland-Alameda (Priceline says median price is $120, Betterbidding Priceline Maps say between $40 to $60) 3 1/2* to 4 * Berkely-Emeryville (Priceline says median price is $169, Betterbidding Priceline Maps say between $86 to $113, but do not mention of the 3 1/2*) 3 1/2* Concord-Lafayette (Priceline says median price is $116, Betterbidding Priceline Maps say between $47 to $70) Any tips on starting points in those areas or what the 3 1/2* in Berkeley might be? I used the PRICELINE QuickQuote to start my search. Thanks.
  6. Researched 3* near Napa for an upcoming trip as Napa itself seems very high and not much in the way of discounts. Retail for the Courtyard was $113 (AAA discount) or $110 (hotels.com). Put in $70 and it was accepted. Would it have been possible to start lower? I used the Better Bidding PRICELINE link to start my search. Thanks for the great site!
  7. Thanks for the info!! It was right on. I used the provided HOTWIRE links to book 4 rooms at this hotel. Hotel details: Radisson Hotel Salt Lake City Airport 2177 West North Temple, Salt Lake City, UT, 84116 Great website.
  8. Updated the old link (we didn't use Better Bidding/Hotwire at for that trip). I redid the search with the HOTWIRE link from the reply. Thanks.
  9. Thanks for the info. We ended up not booking with HOTWIRE as the Waikiki Parc would not have worked for us. We ended up staying at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach booked directly through the hotel.
