  1. Is it me or Something has changed at priceline ? Usually it was easy to find the "name your own price" to bid on a hotel room. Now i can't find anymore. I go to the site and all i find is express deal or retail deal. Is this Something that i do wrong? thanks for the help
  2. funny i though i already post the amenities... Wi-Fi - Complimentary up to 5 mb/s Premium Wi-Fi - Additional cost up to 20 mb/s Massages upon request 24-Hour business centre Laundry facilities Shoe shine Fitness Centre and Sauna News-stand Butler services Childcare services available Concierge clés d'or Garage parking (€ 25 per night) Currency exchange Valet parking Dry cleaning Express check-in and check-out On-site restaurants: Salon Grand Place, Chutney's, Bubbles Bar
  3. For a change their was no surprise here. Althought i would have hope for a Sofitel the Warwick is a great place to be, close to the train station. I bid priceline too, but i haven't been lucky with it lately so i didn't push my luck going too agressive. Beside there was not too many 5 stars on the Priceline hotel list Happy Customer here
  4. Funny Priceline. I've been working on this deal for about 3 weeks. Analyzing every hôtels, every possibilities because i was not particularly happy with my "win" in Frankfurt (Monopol hotel). I was ready to land at NH Prague City since it was the only hotel in that area on the hotel list.... Again i was wrong. I say again because i don't know what's going on with Priceline/hotwire but recently i've been constantly adding new hôtels to the hotel list. I hate to be surprise, although its priceline you know ! If can't deal with it, don't play ! i believe this is a nice win anyways... ; Free Wi-Fi · Car park · Transfer service · Cash machine · Bureau de change · Catering service · Concierge service Minimarket
  5. thanks for the tip..just did that. Called priceline and talked to them about it. , and they say they couldnt find the website that provided the best prices...although i had the link
  6. Just a little note about this bid. Trivago listed that same hotel 8 dollars cheaper. So i cannot consider this "win" a good deal. More and more we need to be aware of other sites before bidding as plenty of better deals are available elsewhere. Priceline and Hotwire obviously need to be aware of that if they want to keep Customers around.
  7. Going to Stuttgart but no way to find a hotel room in that city. A major tennis tournament in the city so i had to go to Frankfurt. Again the Monopol Hotel isnt a bad place but it was not on the hotel list so...it's always a bit of a surprise.
  8. hi, I'm going to Belgrade and wanted to bid on a hotel in Belgrade Serbia. Going into the bidding page i saw that there is no map, no regions at all in Belgrade. Is it safe to bid in Belgrade ? i dont see any past results in Serbia at all. thank you Pierre
  9. i tought it was obvious enough...from previous posts on the subject. Their was no other hotels than the 3 Disney hôtels; Coronado, Port-Orleans and Caribbean available on both hotel lists here. Thats why i rarely win flipping a coin.... But that's part of the hotwire game..
  10. Well i have read most of the posts about the Disney area giving myself more chances to be on the Disney property. According to the hotwire hotel list here all of the 3.5 hotels were on the Disney property. I've put all chances possible on my side... But i failed. i had to fall onto a new hotel.. This TownePlace Suites by Marriott Orlando at Flamingo Crossings is not a bad place, actually its a good hotel, but i wanted to use the Disney shuttle to move around. I'm dissapointed but not terribly...it could have been worst. Free parking, Free breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Tennis nearby, Kitchenette
  11. Exactly what i thought it would be. The Holiday inn express. as a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal Expensive at 76 dollars for a 3* in my opinion but their was nothing better in that area for the time of my stay.
  12. Interesting story behind this win. Started my bidding war at 60 dollars for a 5 stars in 4 or 5 central régions. Most of the regions laughed at me. So i boost my bidding at 69 dollars, then got a counter offer asking for an extra 33 dollars ! I decided to rebid adding just one dollars and one extra area (Kurfuerstendamn ) and got accepted at 70 dollars ! That hotel seems nice, in an area that i wanted to be Since this is not my first visit to Berlin and most of my visits were in the Potsdam area, I wanted a different place to be. Good win i believe.
  13. sorry for the link i posted. this is the amenities i had so it is probably the Holiday inn Express...we shall know very soon.
  14. I'm not a patient guy so i tried again using priceline for Strasbourg, France may 22nd to 25th 2017. This time i add a 3 stars and lower my bid to 70 dollars. I got a counter-offer of ....104 CDN! If you convert this amount to US fund its the exact amount (76 dollars) that is listed at the express deal. More and more i believe its the Holiday inn Express..
  15. It's been tough lately to find the hôtels i want today. i've been denied countless times its getting a bit discuraging. The priceline express deal list this hotel for a stay from may 22nd to the 25th 2017. Its a 3 star Now could this express deal be the Holiday inn express in Strasbourg ? Thanks in advance.
  16. this was not as good as my previous win in Paris. Made countless bid in Canadian fund the last one turned down was 85 dollars, then made a mistake to relog and forget to set the currency to Canadian, bid 90 US funds ..and got accepted at 90...while express deal was giving the same 4 * (maybe) for 74 dollars US I contacted priceline about their 10% or 20 % refund policies when your "winning" bid is higher than the express deal price. Of course i didn't win the argument with priceline. I've been to that hotel before and it's still a great place to go.
  17. I have to say this is probably my finest win as far as an European hotel is concern. I'm in Paris for tennis at Rolland-Garros and i started my bidding in that area but had to add 20 other areas one by one until i add that specific area and the price i wanted. . Great win, happy Customer here !
  18. that was a weird bidding session. My fist bid for a 4* was 75 dollars. Priceline counter-offer me at 116 dollars. I turned it down. The next i tried 5 bucks extra, now up at 80, still got tha counter-offer at 116 dollars. Turned it down again. Then yesterday i made a mistake. I bid 100 dollars expecting to bid for 4*, forgetting that i had already mark my bid at 3*. To my all time surprise the 100 dollars bid for 3* stars in Detroit was also turned down ! Then today i add one dollar to my 4* bid, now at 101 dollars got accepted ! Strange..they turned down 100 dollars for a 3* yesterday but got accepted today for a 4* for just one dollar extra. I think its a good deal.
  19. It was a rather quick battle. Started at 130 4*, had to climb up to 145 dollars and boom..accepted. Still Venice is an expensive city, i don't think i could have done a better job. A good place anyways.
  20. don't know why the header said 99 dollars. The winning bid was 130 dollars.
  21. bid 150 for a 5* got denied. Then add 4* dropped the price to 130 and boom...got it. Maybe i could have got this one a little cheaper...maybe.
  22. Started with a Bid 5* for 125$, only Rome (Coliseum-Termini) location , got turned down. Then rebid again at 100$ adding 4* i got accepted instantly. Good deal, decent hotel, great location. For the price i think its a good win.
