Thanks. I'll definitely try out mapsandhotels.com.
I would prefer to keep it around $200/night for 3 star or higher.
I didn't see a People Mover in Denver. Hmm. I will look into that. Thanks
My trip is scheduled from 4/9/14-4/12/14, which is the same time as the Denver Auto Show. My conference is downtown at the Sheraton. I am flying, and will be without a car. The only 3 hotels I saw that were close were the Westin, Four Seasons, and Ritz-Carlton, all for around $400+.
Thanks again for any help.
That conversation definitely had some negative vibes going, so I left it alone before it got any worse.I ended up not going to Peoria. I was going for a Girls Softball Tournament, and our team got upset.
Sorry that I did that and I will try not to do it again.
Thank you

I am looking at flying Denver and stay Downtown during the Auto Show. It seems like the Downtown hotel prices have tripled in price because of the event. I see several good deals on hotels outside of downtown. Does anyone have any advice for the best areas to stay in regards to traveling to and from downtown? I saw maybe a free subway??? that runs downtown, I just don't know what areas are close enough to this train. Thanks in advance. Also, I will be without a car, so any other advice would be appreciated as well.
Using the HOTWIRE link on this page, I booked this 3.5* HoteLumiere Suites and Casino for $102 on 8/7/13.
The amenities listed were:
Indoor pool(s)
Fitness Center
Restaurant(s)
High-speed Internet Access
Spa Services
Compared to $154 on other sites per Hotwire. However, I checked the hotel website and it was listed at $119.
I believe Business was also listed, but I can't be certain.

FINALLY took the express deal of 3* Downtown with Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, & WiFi for $107.
Ended up being the historic Missouri Athletic Club. Not thrilled at all about this stay, but we will see.
Also, I may have skipped a bid or two, but I hope this helps someone in the future.
I have used this site to help narrow my hotel options for years on both Hotwire and Priceline. I understand how they work. With a smaller town like Peoria, it previously would have been very easy to narrow down specific hotels based upon amenities and ratings. However, the information that I previously used to do this is no longer available.
Thank you
This was the best possible hotel we could have gotten, as we are going to a game at the Stadium.
I thought for sure based on the price that we would either have the Omni Majestic or the Hyatt Riverfront.
Doing a quick search, the cheapest rate I could find for the same hotel was $103/night.
Definitely a good score on Labor Day weekend.

This topic should be 3.5* St. Louis (Downtown) Crowne Plaza
I was trying to get the 4* Hyatt Regency at the Arch.
I started with Downtown 4* $48 - rejected.
added Forest Park and upped to $50 - rejected.
then added Chesterfield and $65 rejected.
finally changed to 3.5* Downtown $50 and won.
I would say the metro is the way to go. It has stops both at the airport and union station.
As for walking around, you should be okay being so close to hockey arena and mall.
Listed Amenities:
Pool, Restaurant, Laundry, Tennis
Rate per night: $91

Best part is free parking.
Hard to get a good rate this weekend because of so much college basketball in town.
First bid was $81 for 4* Downtown- Vandy rejected for 1 room 2/26.
Added Brentwood and upped price to $90 rejected.
Ended up finding 3* Hyatt Place Brentwood for $77 on their own site.
I would actually move up to 3.5* to include the Sheraton and try $45.

Thanks for the help. My conference didn't get approved, so no Denver trip.
