  1. Got this for a Saturday night. I love that Hotwire lists the number of TripAdvisor reviews now, so you can easily figure out which hotel it is by just googling the number of reviews. So knew to pay a little extra to get a much better hotel. Complimentary Free Internet Amenities Boutique hotelBusiness centerFitness centerPool(s)Restaurant(s)Self-service laundrySmoke-free rooms
  2. Couldn't get a PRICELINE bid under this price for 4* in Union Square East, so went with HOTWIRE. Total was $132 after taxes. Price on their website for that Saturday night is $301, so it was a huge savings.
  3. Bid $50 on first offer. After taxes/fees and such total was $76.93. Hotel gets good reviews too. Hotels.com has it for $117 after taxes/resort fees, so a good deal, and cheaper than anything else I could find with good reviews for that night.
  4. They are really crazy during August. Just booked a compact for $55 a day (after fees was $75 a day) for 8/14-8/19. Rejected initial bid of $50/day. Using normal Priceline, it was $97 a day for the lowest price (after fees). Ridiculous!!!
  5. Bid $80 for a 4 star in downtown Austin, but no luck. $90 got the Hilton, which is half off their asking price.
  6. Something must be going on in Chicago this week, since nothing at all is coming up with Priceline. Went up to $130 for 4* and got nothing, and then up to $140 for 3.5* and still got nothing. Checking Hotels.com for cheap hotels, it only returns 2 under $200, with 38(!) not available on that date. So decided just to hostel it for only $70 a night. Not quite as romantic for my wife and me, but probably more fun anyways.
  7. Tried for Springdale area, but had no luck at 3 or 2.5 stars with $45, $55, and $60 bids. Added the University of Arkansas area and upped the bid to $65 and got this one. Looks really good for the price, though when I checked the website it said it was out of rooms so a bit worried we'll get a smoking room (which my wife can't stay in, so we would have to forfeit the hotel room if that happened...). So will see I guess.
  8. I was really disappointed in this price, since previous posts here had much lower prices. I started at $14, went up slowly over several days to $25, then started going in $5 increments with no luck. Finally bid $40, and still got rejected. But they had a "negotiated" rate of $50, which is about $7 cheaper than on-line, so I went with that since I was leaving and didn't want to mess with it anymore.
  9. First bid accepted, which is the price I guess it would be based off the reports on here. Actually going to be staying there the previous 4 nights too for a work conference (company paid) so it's nice I won't have to switch hotels (though probably have to switch rooms I'm guessing. We'll see what they'll let us do, maybe even not have to bother to check out....)
  10. Had bids of $15, $20, and $25 rejected over the course of a few days
  11. Was able to change dates from my previous post, and got a pretty good deal. I really wanted a walkable location. Trip Advisor reviews are mixed, but overall pretty positive. Room going for $126 on the Radisson website. Used the PRICELINE link. Bids: 4* Downtown $60 $68 $75 3.5* Downtown $62 $70 (accepted)
  12. Was planning to do a surprise weekend getaway for my fiance when she got back from a trip, but couldn't find any 4* or 3.5* in downtown Austin below $115 for that weekend. Hotwire reports lowest for that weekend is $178, while the two surrounding weekends are only $89. Likewise going to the hotel websites directly show rates doubled compared to other weekends. Looks like Bat Fest and a World of Warcraft conference sucked up all the hotel rooms downtown. Bids (all rejected): 4* Downtown $70 $83 $90 $100 3.5* Downtown $70 $83 $95 $115
  13. Was aiming for a cheap 2.5* in Brandon area for the free breakfast, but had bids of $27, $33, and $38 rejected Went down for 2* and had a $27 rejected until this $33 one was accepted. Hotel website has it for $60 a night, so I saved about 50% which isn't bad. Got just ok reviews, but it'll do. Was hoping for the La Quinta.
  14. Tried getting a resort first in the LBV area (for $48 and then $58) but no luck (figured I'd at least try) So then went down a level for 3.5 and tried $52, and it was accepted. Hotel gets good reviews and has free breakfast and free parking (which the resorts often don't) so we're excited! It says non-smoking room isn't guaranteed, is that ever a hassle to get a non-smoking room? My fiance is allergic to smoke and we both hate the smell, so that's the only thing I'm worried about.
  15. Your Offer Price: $13.00 (per day) Total Rental Days: 8 days(7 days and 21 hours) Subtotal: $104.00 Taxes and Fees: $72.72 Total Charges: $176.72 First time using PRICELINE, but definitely not the last. Ended up saving $85 over the car rental reservation I had before. $13/day was my first and only bid.
