  1. Booked via Priceline last night and got the Hotel St. Regis in the Detroit - New Center Area for $64 + tax a night for June 6-8, 2 Nights.

In town to watch the Jays and Tigers, go Jays.  I knew I would get the St. Regis as it's the only hotel on any site in the zone LOL.

Just to add, called to get 2 beds and they are going to charge me $20 per night for the 2 bed room.  Still great price as the regular is coming up at around $100 per night.

  2. Don't forget you can use re-bid zones that don't have a 4* to increase the number of bids you can make each day.

For example these zones don't have a 4* and therefore if you add them 1 at a time and re-bid you can not win a hotel in those areas:

    • Civic Center South - Hayes Valley
    • Fisherman's Wharf
    • Japan Town - Civic Center North
    • Marina - Lombard Street
    • SFO North - San Bruno
    • South San Francisco

I did a check on Hotwire for your dates and a 4* is going for $200+, so $130 might be hard to get. I'm no expert but I would suspect that $160-$170 would be more possible.

  3. Just booked the 2* Shilo Inn in Oakhurst near Yosemite for 1 night May 31.

Started at $55, and it took 3 re-bid zones to get it for $65, $80.26 with tax. Hotels.com has it for $44 more a night.

    Re-bid zones added:

    -Angels Camp (no 2*)

-Buck Meadows (figured it was out of the price range)

-Mariposa (already had tried high amount for this area but was not affraid if I got one here)

Again used the PRICELINE link on the site.

Any tips for Yosemite would be appreciated, headed there with my mom, planning on checking out the Valley area as it sound like a lot of the major sites are around there.

  4. Just won the Hyatt Regency in the Financial District.

    June 1-4 - 3 nights.

    $92 a night, $328.92 total.

Need some help from my friends here finding nearby parking that is less than the valet $50 a night. Hotels site has the 3 nights at over $800.

Sweet, used the PRICELINE link to start my bidding. Took 4 re-bid zones. I started at $80 and was told to bid again raising my bid by $20, I said NO, and added re-bid zones increasing by $3 till I got it. Once they offer the $20 re-bid you know you're close.

    Thanks to everyone here.

  5. Hi Everyone,

Won the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa last night for May 22 - May 30/11 8 nights. Took all re-bid zones including the marina area only selected Resort level and went from $80 to $106 to get it. was hoping for a hotel/resort right on the beach but this is still great.

Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $106.00 (USD)

    Number of Rooms: 1

    Number of Nights: 8

    Room Subtotal: $848.00 (USD)

    Taxes and Fees: $140.16 (USD)

    Total Room Cost: $988.16 (USD)

Gotta love PRICELINE, hotels rate is $159 a night.

  6. I've bid several times on Priceling, but this time I might need a second room. a buddy is potentially going to join two of us and then a second room would be nice rather than extra person fee or air matress on the floor, LOL. I can't remember if when i've booked before with the name you own price, if I was given the option of a second room, I know I was offered to extend my stay for the same rate.

I'm holding off on bidding until my friend confirms his airfare. By the way it for Easter weekend, April 21-25 4 nights in New Orleans.

    Thanks.

  7. Hi Guys,

Just wanted to follow up on my experience at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Atlanta. It was awesome, hotel is excellent. The renovation of the lobby was of little issues and has no construction noise. Access to the MARTA system is perfect through the Peachtree Centre station and provides perfect transportation to/from the Hartsfield airport. Good location for any sporting event, we went to Falcon, Hawks, Georgia Tech Football and Thrashers games, a very busy weekend.

Best of all, Jerome Bettis was outside our hotel the last night and I got a picture with him, sweat!

  8. Just won the Hyatt Regency Atlanta Downtown. Started at $40 with downtown zone, had to re-bid 6 times by adding zones without 4* luckily there are 15 re-bid zones for 4* so I figured a $2 increment was good.

Got it for $52 Nov 11-14.

Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $52.00 (USD)

    Number of Rooms: 1

    Number of Nights: 3

    Room Subtotal: $156.00 (USD)

    Taxes and Fees: $31.74 (USD)

    Total Room Cost: $187.74 (USD)

Had a cancelable room booked at the Marriott downtown for $413, I like this much better :)

I love PRICELINE and this site.

    Thanks guys.

  9. Just booked the Double Tree Guest Suites in Santa Monica, Aug 28-30, 2010.

I was trying to the the Courtyard Marriott which is a 3*, had bid for a few days ($80-$109) with the re-bid of lawndale, then bid $114 today and got this. Happy with the upgraded hotel and the location is awesome (right at the pier) but the parking at $28 is a killer. Oh well very happy and free wi-fi, why is this not free at every hotel!

This site is awesome and I tell everyone I know to use PRICELINE and betterbidding.

  10. Could not get prices I wanted in Hollywood so I changed to Beverly Hills.

Stated with 2.5* Bid $96 rejected, then upped it to $102 and added Lawndale zone for the free bid and won. Was trying to get the Best Western Carlyle Inn @ 2.5*, oh well I'm happy.

    Residence Inn Beverly Hills

    August 25-28, 2010

    $102 x 3 nights + taxes = $360.72

Best I could quickly find was $160 a night for this hotel
