  1. Tried bidding for quite a few days. Played low balls for a while, and then realized the retail price was going up every couple days. Today's lowest price online is $109 + tax which is $10 more than yesterday's price, so I decided to bid higher to secure a room. $60 - Rejected $65 - Rejected $70 - Rejected $75 - Rejected $78 - Rejected $80 - Rejected $83 - Rejected $87 - Rejected $90 - Accepted The total amount after taxes and fees is $109 which is $10-20 cheaper than retail prices.
  2. If you checked the price for every individual night, you would see the price difference. It's more expensive during from Mon to Thurs. I was able to get one night April 30 - May 1 at Hilton Orchard for $90 However, I have been unsuccessful to get any 4*/5* on April 29 - April 30 for up to $95 because the retail prices are higher on that day. If you try splitting your stays, there is a good chance that you get at least one night at a 5* hotel for low price. Good luck.
  3. Right now, I just hope the political situation in Thailand will be better by the time I travel, which is two weeks later. Does anyone know if priceline will provide any support like allowing us to change the dates or even cancel the bookings in this kind of situation?
  4. Thanks for your info renostyle. This is going to be my first time to Singapore, so I probably won't spend too much time in the hotel. $80 for an upgrade seems a bit too much, considering I could buy/eat quite a lot of stuff elsewhere.
  5. Marriott actually has a few different resorts in Thalang: JW Marriott, Marriott Phuket Beach Club and Marriott Mai Khao Beach. Just to clarify, I am going to the Marriott Mai Khao Beach this time. pmc22, I haven't started my trip yet, but Hilton should be pretty nice. :) Too bad Priceline doesn't have any hotels in Phi Phi Island for us to bid.
  6. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $55.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $55.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $17.69 (USD) Total Room Cost: $72.69 (USD) Got it in the first bid. I bid this one because I will have a early flight in the morning and this beach/hotel is very close to the airport in Phuket. Then I don't have to wake up so early and travel all the way from Patong or other beaches to catch my flight.
  7. Tried to bid 5* two nights from Thurs April 29 to Fri May 1 a few days with no luck, even up to $90 per night. Today, tried focus in Orchard district solely. No luck up to $88 from Thurs April 29 to Fri May 1. Then used the last free bid: $90 - Orchard + Everything but Bugis and City Hall + removed the first night -> WON Might be able to win with lower price, but $90 is totally acceptable. Though, tomorrow, I will have to bid for one more night, April 29 to April 30, for Hilton because I couldn't even extend my stay one more night for the same price.
  8. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$70.00 Subtotal: US$70.00 Taxes & Fees: US$20.47 Total Charges: US$90.47 Not quite remember the exact order of bidding. Should be something like these: 5* Laguna $60 5* Laguna + Cape $65 5* Laguna + Cape + Patong $67 5* Laguna + Cape + Patong + Karon $ 70 This is the first time I won something. I am very happy with the price and the hotel. Might extend for a couple days for the same price.
