Thanks for the reply and for reminding me about the NYC hotel bid. Sorry for not posting a follow up on that -I totally forgot about it. I decided to stay at my friend's house for that NYC trip and that's why did not use the PRICELINE. I was back in NY this month end at Islip Airport and needed a midsized rental car and posted that winning Alamo bid in the NY car rental forum. Also,just a follow up to the Crowne Plaza. The hotel rate on its website was $135+tax.So I saved $90 per night per room x 3 nights = saved total of 180x3=$540 . That's very significant. I have been using PRICELINE for a long time now and the savings never cease to amaze me. Thanks. :)

Hi, Just a follow up to a request I had submitted earlier. I used the PRICELINE link on this forum and got the 2.5* Crowne Plaza in the OKC north area. I initially bid $45 for a 3* hotel,was rejected, added 2.5* and reduced the bid by $1 to $44 and the price was accepted. Here are the bid details : Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $44.00 Subtotal: $264.00 Taxes & Fees: $46.63 Total Charges*: $310.63 Thanks.This is a great site . I used the info in the earlier threads for the 2.5* OKC north and was almost certain that it would be the Crowne Plaza. :)

Hi, First thanks for your help on my NY trip. I bid on a rental car in NY through your link and got a great deal and I posted that info. :) So now, I wanted to bid on a hotel in OKC Airport North. Unfortunately I cannot bid on any other areas as this location is a must for me. So my free rebid options are restricted. I am OK with a 2.5/3/3.5* hotels. My max bid is around $40-$45/night as I want to book 2 rooms for 3 nights from 05/23/10 to 05/26/10. So what should be my bid strategy here? I know I am a bit optimistic for a 3/3.5* hotel here. But just giving it a shot! If not 2.5* should be fine. And as before,will be booking through the PRICELINE links here. Thanks !! :)

Hi , I won a bid for $26 on a midsized car from Alamo at the ISP Islip NY airport. With taxes it is $41. HOTWIRE for the same itinerary was $49 . Maybe could have gotten lower ,but did not want to wait another day to rebid. If rejected,would have bought it on HOTWIRE. I used the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links from this website. Thanks. Just a query-Any info as to what midsize cars does Alamo have at ISP? Thanks for the help. I forgot about that bidding sequence. I just bid 2.5* for LGA ,then just added Elmhurst and Flushing subsequently. And I guess I was bidding way too low because I had time and just wanted a best shot. Yes, this time I will try your bid amount and format so that I maximize my free rebids. Decided to stay with a friend's house.

As I still have time, I just bid for a 2.5* in LGA/Flushing/Elmhurst for $45 ,$46, and $48 using the rebids.And I used the PRICELINE links from here. And -my goal is to get a 2.5* first and if rejected then a 2*.Would certainly prefer a 2.5*.And I want to limit it to $60 max per day. I certainly want to avoid the 1* hotels. Thanks for the NYC info. Yes, I am very familiar with NYC. I was in the Brooklyn Park slope area for 6 years. And I will be driving and I wanted to stay close to the Flushing area. So that`s why any of the LGA/Flush/Elmh areas are fine for me. And boy hotels are so much cheaper in the rest of the country . You can get a 4* hotel for $40 in Texas but it`s just 2 hrs worth parking in Manhattan !! :)

Hi, I just joined this board and already have found it very useful. And I will be posting my bids here and be using the PRICELINE / HOTWIRE links here. My bid request: 4/12-4/16 dates[4 nights ] 2*/2.5* - in LGA /Flushing/Elmhurst areas —any of these 3 areas is fine. My bid amount: 55/day+tax=$260 total price roughly Is this doable? Or should I bid even lower? As a last resort, I could select the JFK area too ,but that would be the last resort. Thanks for the advice.
