  1. I tried both Safari and Firefox. I know I have the most recent version of Safari. I *think* I have the most recent version of Firefox. Fortunately this evening I was able to secure an extra room at the hotel where our event is being held. I no longer need to book the possible Westin room. Thanks so much for your help!
  2. My browser cuts off the possible amenity listings on the page from within better bidding.com that shows all of the hotels for Indiana (specifically the downtown area) that one might find on hotwire. My browser does not cut off the amenities on the bidding helper link you have just shared with me. I tried that link and received the following for my search: FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking I agree ~ I think this is the Westin. I'm not sure if the proximity of the Westin works for our event. I'll let you know if we book it! I did use your links to search Hotwire ~~~ love this site ~~~ happy to help support it! Thanks!
  3. Please help identify a 4.5* downtown Indianapolis hotel listed for 110/night -- 1 night stay; January 17; 1 room/ 2 adults trip advisor 4/5 hotwire: 85% recommend Pet friendly, indoor pool, smoke-free, fitness center, pool(s), restaurant(s), business center, internet access; Accessible path of travel (The only 4.5* downtown Indianapolis hotel shown in the hotel list is the Westin. My browser cuts off the possible amenity options, so I can't see if the above combination is included.)
  4. Okay - unfortunately I couldn't wait longer to book the room. Had to jump with only a guess as to the hotel being either the Hyatt, the Omni, or the Westin. It turns out it was the Hyatt. Taxes and fees 17.91 for a total price of 88.91. The full listing is/was exactly as shown above for the 4* with 95% hotwire customer recommendation: 4* $71: indoor pool, fitness center, pool(s), restaurant, business center, high speed internet access, accessible for the blind, accessible for the deaf, accessible path of travel, in-room accessibility, accessible bathroom, handicapped parking, roll-in shower ~~ recommended 95% hotwire reviews.
  5. Another option showing now: 3.5* $58: Indoor pool, smoke free rooms, fitness center, Pool(s), restaurant, business center, high speed internet access, accessible for the blind, accessible for the deaf, accessible path of travel, in room accessibility, accessible bathroom, handicapped parking ~~ 85% of hotwire customers recommend ~~ Best value, lowest price guaranteed
  6. Okay - the second 4* option is showing again in addition to the others. The amenity list is a little different than was showing last night: 4* $71: indoor pool, fitness center, pool(s), restaurant, business center, high speed internet access, accessible for the blind, accessible for the deaf, accessible path of travel, in-room accessibility, accessible bathroom, handicapped parking, roll-in shower ~~ recommended 95% hotwire reviews.
  7. Hello again! I am trying to identify the downtown Indianapolis hotels given in a Hotwire search (started on this board, of course ;) ) for a one night stay, 2 adults, Saturday, November 17. The following appear: 4* $71: fitness center, business center, restaurant, high speed internet, accessible path of travel, in-room accessibility, accessible bathroom, handicapped parking ~~ recommended 85% Hotwire customer reviews ~~ Best Value 3.5* $65: Smoke free rooms, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, high-speed internet, accessible for the blind, accessible path of travel, in-room accessibility, accessible bathroom ~~ recommended 80% of Hotwire Customer reviews 3* $60: Free parking, free breakfast, free internet, fitness center, laundry facilities (self service), high speed internet access ~~ recommended 55% hotwire customer reviews ~~ Super Savings 4* $71 THIS ONE IS NOT SHOWING NOW, BUT WAS SHOWING LAST NIGHT along with the above 4*, which I thought was really odd as typically only one option from each star category is shown: had similar to the above 4*, but offered roll-in shower too and was recommended 95% of Hotwire customer reviews Thanks for the help!
  8. Thanks for the tip! Love it! ;) (FYI - I've noticed LMT is showing a better price for the 4 night stay at the James in Chicago that I just booked a couple of days ago thru HOTWIRE. LMT is showing a $118.00 rate for non-members and 106 for club members. I paid 123.00. Not a big deal, except I also noticed that the taxes & fees shown on LMT are about $25 less in total than what I paid on hotwire. I would have booked through LMT had I seen this post first! I'll make sure to check both sites before booking next time. Thanks again for the tip)
  9. As always, thanks for the help! This truly is a great service offered -- mega kudos! :) I've noticed that the hotwire hotel list has not been updated to include the 'accessibility' amenities that were included with the James listing this time (as well as the InterContinental that appeared previously). Should the list be updated to include an amenity set with these options?
  10. Okay -- so we went ahead and booked the 4.5 star shown with amenities above and it is indeed the James. Thank you for all the help!
  11. What I think is the James Hotel is now showing at 123.00 per night. The full amenity list is: Fitness Center, Laundry, Accessible for the Blind, Accessible Path of Travel, Handicapped Parking, Restaurant, High speed internet, accessible for the deaf, In-room accessibility, Roll-In shower, Business Center, Spa Services, Free Internet, Accessible Bathroom (Do you recommend one over the other - InterContinental vs James? The InterContinental showed up again earlier today, but at a higher price (180 something, ouch!). The James has only gone up a couple of dollars to 123 now. Maybe we should act quickly??)
  12. I just did another quick search -- looks like the James Hotel is popping up now for the 4.5 star option at 121/night. Chicago River North: 4.5 star, 121/night -- fitness, laundry, spa, high speed internet, restaurant, business center, free internet
  13. Thank you for the reply. :) I agree that the 126.00 3.5 star is likely the DoubleTree. There is now a 4.5 star option at 150.00 showing for Chicago River North area that is likely the Intercontinental given the amenities shown. Since the conference is at the Hyatt on Wacker we have decided that we do prefer the River North location. (There are no Grant Park options showing at all) Is the InterContinental worth the extra 24/night? I know it's only a couple blocks north of the Hyatt. Do you have any experience with either the DoubleTree Chicago or The InterContinental? It just seems there aren't many 'bargains' showing right now... got the W a couple years ago for 76.00 and loved that. (Thanks for reminding me to begin the search from the link on this site. I forgot on the initial search, but I made sure to do it this time to recheck what is showing. :) )
  14. I'm looking for 2 adults, 0 children in the magnificent mile area of Chicago for an extended weekend/business trip July 6 - 10. The business conference is Monday & Tuesday, but we would like to arrive in Chicago Friday night for some weekend fun before business. The conference is at the Hyatt on Wacker --- walking distance would be nice but not necessary. It appears Hotwire has changed the amenities list a bit since I last searched. I'm having more difficulty identifying properties. :( Here is what I see: Mag Mile River North: 3.5 star, $126.00, Best Value, recommended in 90% hotwire reviews: Fitness Center, Business Center, Pool, High Speed Internet, Restaurant --- maybe the DoubleTree? 4 star, $142.00: Fitness Center, High Speed Internet, Accessible Path of Travel, Roll-in Shower, Business Center, Free Breakfast, In-Room Accessibility, Laundry Facilities (self service), Free Internet, Accessible Bathroom 3 star, $108: Fitness Center, In-Room Accessibility, Business Center, Roll-In Shower, High Speed Internet Mag Mile Water Tower Area: 4 star, $127.00: Boutique, Restaurant, Golf, Accessible Path of Travel, Roll-In Shower, Smoke-Free Rooms, Business Center, Accessible for the Blind, In-room accessibility, Fitness Center, High Speed Internet, Accessible for the deaf, accessible bathroom 3 star, $100.00: Business Center, Accessible for the deaf, in room accessibility, Roll-In Shower, HIgh Speed Internet, Free Breakfast, Accessible Bathroom, Accessible for the Blind, Accessible Path of Travel, Handicapped Parking 3.5 star, $160, recommended 90% of hotwire reviews: Smoke Free Rooms , Fitness Center , Pool(s) , Restaurant(s) , Business Center , High-Speed Internet Access , Tennis Nearby , Accessible for the blind , Accessible for the deaf , Accessible path of travel , In-room accessibility , Accessible bathroom , Handicapped parking , Roll-in shower Gold Coast: 4 star, $160, recommended by 90% of hotwire reviews: Smoke Free Rooms , Fitness Center , Pool(s) , Restaurant(s) , Business Center , High-Speed Internet Access , Tennis Nearby , Accessible for the blind , Accessible for the deaf , Accessible path of travel , In-room accessibility , Accessible bathroom , Handicapped parking , Roll-in shower Can anyone help me identify these and/or offer recommendations on which to choose for a fun weekend without the kids?? Thanks!
  15. Oh no! I didn't see your response before I booked the Westin. Next time I will look for your links. :) After identifying the Hotwire hotel options above, I searched a little more and found the best deal directly at the Westin site. They offered a "winter promo" at the reduced rate of 99/night plus the inclusion of a 20.00 gift card per day for use in the hotel's Ingredients restaurant. Effectively we received a 79/night rate. I had read some reviews about the Hyatt that disappointed me, which is why I didn't immediately jump on it. But, the 70/night super rate disappeared quickly from Hotwire anyway - it went up to 83/night within an hour. I'm very glad we chose the Westin! The location was great - directly across from Fountain Square. Our room was decent. We were able to guarantee a king size bed with the view we wanted. The 20.00 gift card worked well for us. The Ingredients cafe has a very nice made-to-order breakfast (plus grab-n-go options throughout the day like salads, sandwiches, and pizza). Places/things we enjoyed: seeing the art deco architectural style of the Hilton (directly next door, but was totally sold out during our weekend stay); the view from Carew Tower (this is atop the building that houses the Hilton); walking around the Reds Stadium, waterfront & bridge area; Nada restaurant/bar, Bartini, The Righteous Room, Lunar Lounge... lots of fun nightlife! A great last-minute, much-needed, weekend get-away! Thanks for the hotel help! :)
  16. Thank you. It appears my guesses are likely correct. I have never been to the area previously. From the reviews it appears that the Cincinnatian has rather inconsistent room quality. Many people suggest that when paying the reduced rate you get exactly that - a room representative of that price (a small, dated, interior atrium room with no natural light) and not indicative of the 4.5* caliber of this hotel. Hmmm... this disappoints me. I'm not thrilled with the Hyatt for this trip, either, although it has the least expensive pricing. Online I found a King room at the Westin for close to the same price as hotwire quoted for the Cincinnatian. Unless I learn otherwise (as in advice from someone having stayed at the Cincinnatian or having purchased a room there through Hotwire), I am leaning toward booking the room at the Westin. Thanks for the help!! Certainly if I choose the Cincinnatian, I will book through the BB HOTWIRE link. :)
  17. I'm searching for a great deal on an upscale hotel room in Cincinnati for a possible last minute get away this weekend. The search is for 2 adults, 2 nights, March 11 & 12 (checking out on Sunday, the 13th), in the downtown/riverfront area. (I'm looking for the nicest hotel/best located - any advice on these properties is greatly appreciated!) I believe I have identified one of the three in question: $93/night; 4.5*; Downtown Cincinnati; 4/5 trip advisor rating; Boutique, smoke-free, fitness, restaurant, high-speed internet, business center ~~~ This is the Cincinnatian? I am unsure of the other two: Downtown Cincinnati; 4*; Super Savings; 70/night; 3/5 trip advisor rating; fitness center, pool, restaurant, high-speed internet, business center ~~~ boards show Hilton, Hyatt, or Westin ~~~ because of the 3/5 trip advisor rating I would guess this one is the Hyatt. Covington Riverfront; 4*; 90/night; no trip advisor rating offered; Smoke free, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, laundry, high-speed internet, golf, spa services ~~~ no clue on this hotel??? Thanks for the help!!!
  18. Hello! I booked this morning using the board's link. :) Search: 3 adults, 1 room, 1 night (10/27/2010) 3.5*, $49.00/night with amenities: Shuttle, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business 3/5 Trip Advisor rating "we're still gather reviews for this property," "lowest price guaranteed" & "best value" It is the Radisson Hotel Cleveland Airport, which matches the board's hotel listing info. :)
  19. Hello everyone! Thanks so much for the wonderful advice. I apologize that I've been away from my regular schedule and haven't posted in quite some time. It's been a rather eventful summer, and things haven't quite gone as planned. Finally last weekend we decided we NEED to get back on track. Although we strongly STRONGLY considered canceling the extended Napa/San Francisco portion of our trip completely, we have decided to keep most of our original plans. While at a coffee shop Sunday we finalized the San Francisco hotel & flights home. Unfortunately the internet connection was terrible! I could not get the hotwire page to load when linked through the BB. Frankly we had trouble getting most pages to load! Unfortunately we were indeed unable to book the San Francisco room using the BB link. But all 7 of the rooms for the wedding the weekend before the San Francisco portion were booked through the BB site's link, at least! :) Sorry guys... Anyway... I can update the wins page with my info (which I will do shortly). We both felt we needed to book something and get plans solidified, so we made the leap. A decent price appeared on hotwire for San Francisco, 4* hotel, two night stay, August 4 & 5, for 109.00/night. As I said, we knew we needed to book it then or we weren't going... it's the Parc 55. Icons that were showing: fitness, restaurant, business center, high-speed internet. It said recommended 90% of Hotwire reviews, but we didn't see a trip advisor rating. The search was made for 2 adults/ 0 children. I'm glad it's in a good location! Too bad it's light on the romantic side, but I'm sure our time in San Francisco will be great! Please share tips on what to make sure we do while there!! (This probably needs to be in a new thread - I'll post separately if needed. We need to rent a car from the wedding in Reno on August 1 for the drive to Napa, and ultimately for our time in San Fran. Our plan is to drop it off at the San Fran airport Friday. IS this a mistake? Should we drop the car off sooner and cab it while in San Fran? Is there an airport shuttle?) Woo hoo - San Francisco here we come! It's our first visit! :)
  20. Thanks for the help everyone! This booking would have been for my boyfriend's sister. She changed her mind from booking her own room to sharing a room with other conference attendees. I'm sorry it took so long for me to update & close this thread (some unexpected events this summer). Thanks again!
  21. Aaron, the hotel lists on the BB show the smoke-free icon as having been "known" to appear for the Westin. Do you have any thoughts on what these two listings might be? As mentioned, my thought was that the smoke-free listing was the Westin. Thanks again!
  22. Hey - what exactly does the smoke-free icon mean? That the whole hotel is smoke-free, or only that they offer a certain number of smoke-free rooms???
  23. Thanks for the input - Are you talking about both listings? Even the one with the "smoke-free" icon when searching for 1 room/3 adults?? I was hoping only the second search I mentioned - the one for 1 room/2 adults - that is not showing the smoke-free icon was/is University Place. Hmmm....
  24. Hello! I am looking for the Westin in downtown Indianapolis for a one night stay, June 18. When searching Hotwire (started using BB links) for 1 room, 3 adults, I think the Westin appears. The listing shows: 4* $69: smoke-free, fitness, restaurant, business center, high-speed internet recommended in 80% of customer reviews, 500+ reviews, overall satisfaction 4.5/5, lowest price guaranteed, best value 3/5 trip advisor When searching for 1 room, 2 adults, I think it's the University Place that appears (fitness, restaurant, business center, high-speed internet). I really want the Westin... so I'll book the first option if it is likely the Westin! THANKS for the help, as always! (PS - the Napa/San Francisco trip is still pending - haven't updated that thread yet because we may have a problem with the dates - will update as soon as we know and can book)
  25. Hey ~ quick note ~ I just saw the Argonaut on HOTWIRE and realized it is a Kimpton boutique hotel. I don't really care for the Argonaut, much preferring the more contemporary, spa-feel examples of some of the other Kimpton boutique hotels I saw on their website.
