  1. Love this deal for $83. Hampton Inn Hallandale Beach Aventura. Amenities on the confirmation are... Hotel Amenities - Free parking. Free breakfast, Boutique hotel, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby, Accessibility, In-room accessibility, Roll-in shower Rate per night $83.00 Nights 3 Subtotal $249.00 Tax recovery charges + fees $52.14 Discount -$15.00 Hotwire total $286.14 Booked through your HOTWIRE link and the extra $15 discount was great. My previous rate was through their MVP site and was for $373 all in. I know I can always get a better deal bidding on PRICELINE than booking through HOTWIRE if they have the same inventory, there's no way I'd get this at 2.5* on Priceline. There's a Ramada in that zone that would always hit first. Saved $87 and wound up in a good spot. Thereuare....thanks for your assistance!
  2. Thanks Thereuare. I'm looking for a place at or not too far from the beach that would work for myself and my son for a boys weekend watching the Mets. I have a reservation at the Hampton as my current plan at $111+tax per night which includes breakfast and parking, but I'm looking to better that deal. Not having to park at the beach is probably worth $6-$10 a day to me if I'm in a beach hotel. I'd stay in MIami if I could find the right place and figure out a beach to go to that isn't going to involve much of a drive. I see the 2.5 boutique is now $116 a night. FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free breakfast, Boutique hotel, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby, In-room accessibility, Roll-in shower 3.5 Hollywood Beach - FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free Internet, Internet access. That's it. If it is the Hollywood Beach Tower, I've been looking up reviews and I'm not sure I'd be happy enough with it. It's very hit or miss and if it's "miss", I'd wish I were somewhere else. 4* Hollywood Beach - now $129 through Hotwire. I don't see the hotel at all through biddinghelper.
  3. 3 nights, June 2, 2016 - June 5, 2016. I'm currently looking in two areas. Hollywood Beach or Hollywood - South Fort Lauderdale - Aventura. 2.5* Hollywood - South Fort Lauderdale - Aventura Boutique $83. 95% recommended. Amenities - Free parking, Free breakfast, Boutique hotel, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Golf nearby. Taxes and fees $52.14. Seems to fit the Hampton Aventura? --------------------------------------------------- 3.5* Hollywood Beach area hotel $83. 50% recommended. Amenities - Free parking, Free Internet. There's no mention of a resort fee on any page. I see the Hollywood Beach Tower is the only hotel on the Standard Rate tab in that zone that is 3.5*, but that includes free parking with a $10 resort fee. Taxes and fees are only $24.35, which is less than 10% per night. Think this is the same hotel? -------------------------------------------------- 4* Hollywood Beach area resort $96. 80% recommended. Amenities - Free Internet, Resort, Near beach, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center. Taxes and fees are $60.95 total, or nearly 20% per night. Maybe the Crowne Plaza? There is also a Priceline express deals 4* for $98 with fees of $50.76 and I have to think it's the same place as this.
  4. My first and only bid was a stab of $46 for a 3*, hoping that the Marriott was back to their old rate. I was really surprised to see this upgraded win on my screen. $229/night through Omni's site. I wonder what I could have won it for? :-) My apologies for not using teh SB link - I thought this was a "no chance" bid and was planning to bid more tonight. $92 (bid) - $21.11 (taxes/fees) - $113.11 total. 6/13/06-6/15/06.
  5. The Doubletree raised their rates for my dates. The Hyatt hasn't dropped their opaque rates yet. I figured it's time to get this done. Failed 3* at $60. Accepted 2.5* at $70. I've noticed consistent winning bids at this Courtyard at 50% of the rate at Marriott.com ($139 weekend), so I expected to win this. Right next to the PATH station for easy access to NY. Courtyard By Marriott Jersey City Newport 540 Washington Blvd Jersey City, New Jersey 07310 Your Offer Price: $70.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $140.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $28.44 Total Charges: $168.44 Thanks to Thereuare for running a great site!
  6. Still trying with no luck. Tried 4* bids in NYC up to $130. The NY Hilton is up over $300 for these nights, so it's unlikely that any bid up to $150 would be accepted, imo. Also tried 2* in MTS, MTE and UMT-CPS unsuccessfully at up to $120. Bid 3* Jersey City at $65, which also failed. The Doubletree Jersey City has a rate of $139 ($144 w/breakfast), so I'm going to book that as a backup and keep trying PL in case something becomes available. I'll probably try 3* @ $70 next bid.
  7. Amazing. I decide to pull the trigger and go with Hotwire. $76/night. I get all the way through to the end, then get a message that my itinerary is no longer available. When I go back to Hotwire, it's $240/night. Go figure... Just checked 5/13-5/16 and it's in the $70's. 5/14 alone is still $194, 5/13 alone is in the $70's. This is strange.
  8. Question for Thereuare regarding Prof's strategy. If Prof were lucky enough to win a 3 night bid at $46 or $48 through Priceline and buy the other room for 2 nights through Hotwire at $78ish, would this qualify for Hotwire's "double the difference" guarantee, making that second room very inexpensive?
  9. Tried again this morning for Jersey City. 3* - $48, rejected. Added 2.5*, $55, rejected. That Saturday night seems to be the issue, as it's priced higher than Friday. I'll just wait and use the same strategy again after the lockout is over. I'd rather not bail out and head over to Hotwire until much closer to my dates.
  10. Thanks, Thereuare. 3* $46 was rejected. I thought the chance of being accepted by the Courtyard was slim, so I did drop to 2.5 and was rejected at $48. I'll try $55 on Thursday.
  11. We're going to add Jersey City to the mix. Hyatt.com rates of $199 for 5/13 and $239 for 5/14. What do you recommend for a bid? If I have to split the bid, do you think there's an issue with winning a one night Saturday only stay? Thanks in advance for your help! :-)
  12. I've been bidding these dates for the last few weeks and have been rejected up to $130. I had been hoping to get the Hilton New York and thought I might be getting close to the date window when availability shows up there. Others have won for $110 when rates have been $279 (king). Unfortunately, rates for the dates of my stay have just been bumped up from $279 to $299, so a win there might not be possible. We live just outside of the city and don't have to stay, but it would be a nice weekend. I might add 4* SOHO to the mix (probably just extra rebids at the prices there) and raise the overall bidding limit to $140. I doubt these are possible at current rates, but I might try them closer to May. 2* MTS with the hope of winning the Murray Hill East, but I'd only go to $90 and rates are already at $219. 3* UMT-CPS at up to $100-125 to perhaps get the Park Central, but 5/13 is currently $199 and 5/14 is $269. Bidding for a bargain stay is nearly as enjoyable as the stay itself. :)
  13. Was unsuccessfully bidding this 2 night stay to $60 for a few weeks. My last unsuccessful bid was $56 and on my last possible rebid I went to $60 again. Accepted to my surprise. I've usually seen a counteroffer when I'm that close, but not tonight. Probably a $3 overbid, but I'm very happy to get this hotel. Hyatt Regency Philadelphia At Penns Landing Downtown Philadelphia 201 S Columbus Boulevard Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19106 Your Offer Price: $60.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $120.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $25.10 Total Charges: $145.10
  14. I think so. I wasn't successful until my dates were within a month of my bid date and was turned down numerous times before that. The rates on Hilton's site are the same as what was listed for my upcoming dates. I'd book something cancellable as a backup and just wait until the rates come down.
  15. San Jose's a busy place the week of Feb 28. The downtown Hyatt St. Claire and Marriott are both sold out for one or more days and my 3* Downtown bids failed at 37 and 40 (Redwood City for the rebid). Switched to SJC at 2.5* with the hope of winning one the "typical" 2.5's (Courtyard or maybe one of the Suite hotels) while knowing an upgrade to 3* was likely if I bid $37. Failed bids at $30 and $35 (adding downtown San Jose). Added Redwood City at $37 and was upgraded to the Hyatt San Jose. $129 on Hyatt's website. Reviews aren't great, but how bad can it really be for $37?? Check-In Date: Monday, February 28, 2005 Check-Out Date: Friday, March 4, 2005 Hotel Name: Hyatt San Jose 1740 N 1st St San Jose, California 95112 Your Offer Price: $37.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 4 Subtotal: $148.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $24.47 Total Charges: $172.47 Great job with this board, thereuare. :)
  16. Sorry...it's easyclicktravel.com. Just look higher on this page and you'll see "a new year, a new tool... easy search for easy click"....
  17. EasyClick shows that LaQuinta at $109 + tax (enter Hollywood as the city)....
  18. I had been bidding this for weeks for my in-laws and are very happy that they raised their limit from their previous cap of $125. Only the Hyatt and JW Marriott showed any availability. It isn't often that you get a chance to win a WDW zone resort other than the Wyndham or Hilton, but when they each had a sold out day in that range, it opened the door for some of the higher priced gems to come into play. The "hyatt.com" internet rates were $249 for the first night, $229 for the next 4 and $269 for the last night. Universal and WDW resorts, using the 8 area rebid zones. Bid and rejected at $85, $100, $110, $120, $130, $135.......accepted at $140 (there was no counteroffer at any time). Check-In Date: Friday, February 11, 2005 Check-Out Date: Thursday, February 17, 2005 Hotel Name: Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress One Grand Cypress Boulevard Orlando, Florida 32836 Your Offer Price: $140.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 6 Subtotal: $840.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $123.15 Total Charges: $963.15
  19. Vholic - can you tell us which Sheraton Sunnyvale you won? There's a "Four Points by Sheraton Sunnyvale" on Lakeside Drive and a "Sheraton Sunnyvale Hotel" on North Mathilda Ave.
  20. First bid of $40 was rejected, bidding 4* Sunnyvale-Santa Clara only. Ignored a $12 counteroffer and added Milpitas at $41. Accepted at the Hilton. Check-In Date: Friday, February 25, 2005 Check-Out Date: Sunday, February 27, 2005 Hilton Santa Clara 4949 Great America Parkway Santa Clara, California 95054 408-330-0001 Your Offer Price: $41.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $82.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $16.52 Total Charges: $98.52
