  1. Won the Ramada Plaza New Yorker for $127 for 2/15-2/16. 2 Rooms. Started out bidding 4 1/2* ESB, MTW, Chelsea, TS, MSG. No luck up to 130. Started over on 4* same areas. Starting at $100 and won $127. Some of the reviews are a concern, but know the location will be great. Hope this helps others looking to bid. Thank you for posting bidding strategies for others that helped me with my bids. Least expensive room on their web site is $349.
  2. Headed to NYC for Presidents Weekend. Bid $ 84 for 4* ESB rejected. Added MSG $88 rejected. Added MTE since this was our second choice of zones to stay in, bid $89 and it was accepted. W New York Hotel on Lexington Avenue. Two nights $224 including taxes and fees. Used the PRICELINE link at the top of the page. Thanks again for this site and help with successful bidding strategy.
  3. After looking at all the hotels I bid for 4/22 PDX Airport 3.5* for $40 which was rejected but offered for $12 higher, I declined and resumed bidding adding a zone and increasing to $42, rejected. Bid again for $44 adding another free zone and was accepted. Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel. Total cost $57. Thank you all for your help we are very pleased with our results. Being new at bidding we found it very interesting when Priceline offered us a rate. To us it was at least a good indication that there was availability. Is this what experienced people have found? Thank you again.
  4. This part of my post was move to my Priceline PDX airport topic. Here it is. Bid $52 3.5* for Downtown, rejected but offered to buy for $15 more without any changes. I declined and resumed bidding by adding a free zone and offering $55. Accepted Portland Marriott City Center total charges $195.63. I used the link from this board and thank those who were so helpful in my failed 4* bid and also my PDX airport postings. Location was the most important factor for me and the price is really what I had in mind to pay so I am happy with my results.
  5. Thank you so much, that really helps to know you can add lower star levels and decrease your price. Even though I have read about rebidding it is a lot to take in. I am currently working on bids for two different dates and that is a big help. And thank you for the p.s. it will help me in making my post more clear.
  6. Planning to bid for PDX hotel for one night. Want to be at the airport for early am flight the next day. Since I am new at this, and want to only be in the Airport zone how would I proceed with free rebids. Say if I add a star rating category, do I still have to increase my price. Or is the strategy to bid high enough initially? Any help before I start would be appreciated.
  7. Started out with $52 downtown and kept adding zones at $55 $58 to $$60. Decided to stop, afraid of hotel too far from downtown, but was enticed back by PRICELINE email. Did not know before registering here that I should have come back to the PRICELINE link here. Anyway, I decided to add a couple more zones with only 3* listed went to $63 then $65. All failed. What next? Start over after 24 hours?
