  1. Hi, I see some recent bids won for Grand Hyatt for $105. Sounds to good to be true! I would love to find ANY 4* hotel in NYC for that price or under $120. Is that possible March 26-29? No specific area preferred. Cost and a nice hotel is more of a concern. ANY bidding strategies appreciated! Thanks!
  2. Correction: Sat., 3/25 - Tues., 3/28 Looking for a 3* or higher for less than $100 on Sat. night and 3* or higher for less than $180 on Monday & Tuesday night. Anywhere in NYC is fine if it's nice. Saturday night we have to pay our own $$, so NJ is still an option if at a great rate. Last year we paid $47 per night for two nights at Hyatt Jersey City and then stayed in NYC for $159 at Sheraton Russell. 3/26 & 3/27 my company is paying, but they still want me under $180. I'll be at a conference in Chelsea, but any area of the city is fine if I can get a nice hotel for a great rate. ANY suggestions are appreciated!
  3. How early should I start bidding for a trip to NYC March 24-28? Should I wait until next year? Is this high $$ season? Last year I went in early March and stayed at Hyatt New Jersey, which was great and is always an option too. Thanks!
  4. I live in central Florida and I'm looking to get away from it all for just two nights for any time next week - on the beach for under $75 - anywhere - prefer central or south FL - thinking of mid-week 6/15-6/17, but am flexible on dates. I've been looking at Sanibel/Captiva, Marco Island and St. Pete/Clearwater areas. I'd like a hotel right on the beach or within walking distance with a spa nearby, but not sure what hotels will work or if Pricline hotel list is still current for Marco Island hotel and I don't see any on the list for Sanibel/Captiva. Trying to stay under $75. Any suggestions sincerely appreciated.
  5. :) Got it at $47 per night on Priceline! I'm so glad I found this very helpful board. This was my first time and I'll for sure use again in the future. Thanks so much! 3* Hyatt Regency on the Hudson - Jersey City March 4 - March 6 $47 per night on Priceline 2 nights @ $94.00 $20.96 taxes and service fee $114.96 total
  6. I'm ready to try Priceline at $48, but I see that the Doubletree is also on the 3* list. I really only want the Hyatt. What are chances I could get Doubletree instead? It appears most people get the Hyatt on this board, but I thought I would ask you real quick before I try it and get Doubletree instead. With Hotwire it lists the amenities (pool) so I feel safer, but sure would like to save another $20 a night if I can. Let me know what you think asap please. I want to book something today. Thanks so much!
  7. Does this sound like it? These are the amenities listed on Hotwire: Hoboken - Jersey City Hotel 3.5* This Hotel features the following amenities: Restaurant(s) At least one restaurant is located on the premises. Restaurant hours may vary. Pool(s) Property features at least one pool area. (Note: This amenity offering may be seasonal. Please check hours/availability directly with the property.) Business Center Guests have access to business equipment/services. If I tried Priceline instead, what should I do and will my chances of getting this particular hotel be good? Thanks
  8. Help please! I'm new to this board and amazed at the great deals that can be had! We are traveling to JFK-NYC March 4 - March 8 (4 nights) on a combined leisure and business visit and have to pay hotel costs on nights of March 4 & 5 while my company will pay for nights March 6 & 7. We want to spend no more than $100 per night for the first two nights, but I can go up to $199 for the last two nights. I thought splitting up the nights at two hotels would work best for the budget and Jersey City Hyatt sounds like a great deal for us on March 4-6 - staying in a nice hotel, great skyline view and very convenient to NYC - we are going to see Blueman Group Sat. night and then we can stay closer in the city when my company pays those last two nights. This is only our second visit ever and last time we stayed at Sheraton on the Hudson in Weehawken, which was very nice and great views, but seemed a bit far away from it all (took the ferry and then a bus) and then two nights at Sheraton Towers in the city, which was great and convenient. We prefer to stay in NYC all the days at one hotel, but doubt we can find anything nice (3* or higher) around $100 on Fri. and Sat. night so Hyatt sounds like best choice. What is the best way to get the best rate - Priceline or Hotwire for this particular hotel? What is the percentage chance it will be that hotel? I just did a search on Hotwire and got a rate of $69 for Hoboken-Jersey City with only two hotels listed. The one that sounds like Hyatt has 3.5* with restaurant, pool, business center. Could that be it? I may just book this one while I can as it sounds like a great rate. Would Priceline rates be better or also more of a chance I could get a different hotel? Any and all suggestions sincerely appreciated. Thanks!
