  1. Thanks. Is 45 a good deal for this property in Dec? Have a feeling I should have waited longer. The propert is $62 on Orbitz. Not sure that includes or excludes the resort fee. If it includes then I got ripped off !
  2. I have used BB PRICELINE link 9 out of 10 times, no worries there! That's a bit unfair coz when I bid, they don't particularly tell me of the fees. Plus, the 4* category in the area that I bid has hotels which are resorts and non resorts...so it's unfair to the non resorts too. The resort fee is really steep....I hear $18 per day per room!!! Very unhappy about this...
  3. Hi, For the benefit of the forum - $45 bid accepted by Monte Carlo. With tax comes to around $52. Not sure how that deal is, never been to Monte Carlo. Additional question is - I hope I don't have to pay any resort fees when I get there. Thanks.
  4. For the benefit of the forum. Really good deal for the money I spent. I got there and my king bed request was in place! Staff completely helpful, clean hotel, gym, pool. Overall a very good experience.
  5. Interesting. I called the hotel to ask if I could get a king size bed. Per the pricline confirmation"If you are in need of any special arrangements (i.e. bed types, handicap accessibility etc.) to your accommodation, please contact the hotel property directly at the phone number listed below" The operator asked me how I booked my reservation and when I said priceline, she said she can only make a request coz she is not allowed to change a reservation if it's done via PL. What the ??
  6. Thanks Aaron, I am looking to make a bunch of reservations over December (SF, LA, SD, Austin, Houston and San Antonio)...will need some help!!
  7. Hello all, 4* Santa Clara for 07/29-07/31 Bid 50 rejected, asked to raise. Bid 55 accepted - Hilton 55 / night 24 taxes Total $134 For the benefit of the forum. Thank you!!
  8. 1055 Van Ness Ave Fresno, California 93721 559-233-6650 First bid at $39 accepted by Holiday Inn, Fresno downtown. I have no idea how Freshno is. How is the Hotel? I see they state free parking on weekend. Is there any parking around the hotel? Is there much to do around Freshno? I will be going alone but if there is much to do then might take the wife with me. Sorry about the questions, new to US/California. Of course, used the better bidding PRICELINE link! Thanks, let me know.
  9. Thank you kindly! I was thinking Barting to SF and drive back but it's soooo far. May be Oakland?
  10. Hi there, Change of plans so ignore the travel aspect of it. Could you please help with strategy on JC accommodation from the 15th to the 18th. Internet access is must as I may have to work 1 hour or so each day. What have been the recent wins for hotels in this area? THanks again.
  11. Hi Guys, I am flying into NYC (well about to book my ticket) and the cheapest (from LAX) takes me to LGA airport at 1030 pm. The first question is, is it safe to arrive at that time? Also I need to make my way to Jersey City. So how much would a taxi cost? After you have given me some heads up, I will have to book Jersey city accommodation too so some help there would be much much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Let me know. Oh the arrival is 15th and departure is 18th. So 3 nights. Regards.
  12. Ok - some additional Info, I got "Las Vegas Strip Vicinity South" area 8 as recommended target.
  13. Hi All, My experience using priceline was nothing but positive. Just returned from SF and now planning out a trip to Vegas. I have little idea of idea areas to live in Vegas. We intend to do the common touristy stuff and someone recommends us "south strip". The issue we have is, we are 6 adults (2 couples and 1 parent couple) + a baby. I have no idea if I can use priceline bidding for this? Our dates are 11th April to 13th April (2 nights) and I just saw a post per below. 4* Las Vegas (Strip South) Luxor Hotel and Casino $66, 4/11-4/13 I am not alien on the strategies to bid but I need direction on how to accommodate for the 6+1 occupancy. Is there a way I am able to bid? Any help will be greatly appreciated. THanks,
  14. Yup, as it turns out my plane was delayed and I got to Oakland at around 930. Being new to the city, I must admit it was a bit of an eye opener. Lot's of people wondering around and wanting to help (for a $ of course). It was in experience!!! Good thing is, checking in at 10 and I got a water facing room! The service has been good so far. If there was any feedback (and if I were to get very critical) - I think the room had a bit of a cigarette smell when I got in. Other than that, love my 52$ bid. Glad with it all so far!!!
  15. Thank you for your note 'chick' :) I will go the BART way. See how I go....So it will be 3$ airBART, then I think 3.xx for BART to Embarcadero and then $2 for the MUNI I guess. Cheers,
  16. Hi Guys, Sorry if this forum is reserved only for priceline bidding. So I bid on a 2.5* and secured Radisson at the Wharf. I arrive at the Oakland Airport at 7.20 pm so wanted to know the safest way to travel from Airport to the Wharf. To my understanding, I will have to catch the airshuttle to nearest BART, then get to Embarcadero. Transfer to F MUNI line which takes me straight to Radisson? Question is, is it safe enough to travel around that time? Or am I better of taking a direct shuttle (shared) service which is ridiculously priced? If so, are there any cheap shuttles? Please let me know. Response will be appreciated. Thanks.
  17. Hi there, I have a booking via PRICELINE at the Radisson. I will be checking in late (perhaps around 9pm). I was told, it would be better to call them and let them know? I thought a booking means guaranteed check in? Please let me know if I need to call them to inform. Cheers
  18. Thanks mate. I will keep you guys posted on my experience. Thanks a lot for all for your help.
  19. :) Sorry about that :) Then again Bogans here call anyone their mates.
  20. Thanks mate, you know a thing or two about OZ then......I have 3 days on my first trip to SF and coming back later for more so hope to enjoy my stay there! Thanks for your help. I will remember to use the PRICELINE link here to book my NYC trip. CHeers
  21. Hi, Thanks for all the help here. I used your PRICELINE link to get this hotel. Started with 40$ on 3* Fishermans 42$ on 3* USE 45$ on 3* USW 47$ on 2.5* Financial District 50$ on 2.5* SOMA 52$ on 2.5* Financial district Accepted 52$ by Radisson at the Fishermans Wharf. This is my first trip to the States and I hope I enjoy the stay!!!! I will post on how go with the experience. I hope the room is decent and the staff is helpful! I am freaking out a tad to be able to travel around downtown and east bay from FW. Is this area safe. Are there any DO's and DON'Ts? From what I know Fishermans Wharf is a tourist area, so I hope there won't be issues heading out for a cup of coffee, dinner, lunch whatever. I would like to thank you guys for the information. I will need another 3 days in SF later in April and Also 4 days in NYC. Cheers.
  22. Thanks guys. Yes, I have tried the lowball bids. 4* 45$ :) for downtown SF. I have also went up to 55$ for 3* Fisherman's Wharf with no luck. Cheers EDIT - It was using this link.
