  1. Our dates are in slightly in flux, but I'm researching. I'm befuddled by the options as I can't seem to get any of them to match up. Looking in Arlington, VA - have heard good things about this location and proximity to DC; would of course prefer free parking, but that doesn't yield any options. However, it seems some hotels do offer it, it just isn't listed on Hotwire. Pool is a plus, but not a deal killer - actually, the free wi-fi is probably more useful as we have 10 & 15 yr old. July 6 -11; 2 adults, 2 kids, Hotwire 3* $107 FULL AMENITIES: Free breakfast, Pet friendly, Fitness center, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower 4* $133 FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower 3.5* $136 FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Airport shuttle, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking
  2. July 6-10, 4 Stars, 95% recommended FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Airport shuttle, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access Seems to be The Westin Crystal City. Is this a decent place to stay with preteens and visit the DC area - National Mall/Monuments, etc.
  3. Country Inn & Suites, Buckhead, Atlanta - $94, June 8-13 Free Parking Free Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center
  4. Ok...yes, I do see those now. I guess when I realized how far away Alpharetta was, I got to concntrating on the Buckhead. That one stays the same with the addition of handicapped parking.
  5. There is nothing else listed except handipcapped parking. The prices have only changed about $1. Dates are June 3-6 2 adults, 2 children
  6. Looking for recommendations in the Atlanta area for June 3-6ish. Dates are flexible, location is flexible. Family trip - sightseeing; free breakfast is a huge plus. We'd love an Embassy, but one doesn't seem to show up. This is what I've found...suggestions, recommendations? Buckhead, 3*, 85%, $85 (Country Inn & Suites?) Free Parking Free Breakfast Fitness Center Pool Tennis & Golf nearby Bus Ctr in-room accessiblity bathroom accesibility Perimeter area, 3*, 85%, $69 (Hyatt Place?) Free Parking Free Breakfast Free internet pet friendly fitness pool(s) laundry facility high speed internet accessible bathroom Alpharetta South, 3*, 80%, $91 - no idea Free Parking Free Breakfast pet friendly indoor pool(s) fitness pool(s) business center laundry accessible for blind
  7. Thanks - I'll get it all down on the map. One last thing, how about getting from Midway Airport to the ES Lakefront, with luggage and 2 kids. It will be mid morning.
  8. We most likely will get bus passes for a couple of days. A few questions, if someone can help............. 1. Best way to get from Embassy Suites (Lakefront) to Lincoln Park Zoo 2. Best way to get from ES to Museum of Science and Industry 3. Is the Chicago Trolley worth it - thought the kids might like the ride on a double decker Thanks.
  9. Sorry for the delay. Amenities were as follows: Suite Complimentary bkfst fitness pool restaurant bus center high speed internet The actual dates are 6/16 - 6/19. The ES wasn't available on the 15th and we fly in at midnight (our flight just changed) so we might just stay close to the airport that night and transfer the next morning. Traveling any distance with ages 5 & 9 at midnight doesn't sound fun! We are close to starting our details. I think I'll check into the bus passes since we will not have a car. Love the zoo idea and can't wait to try the pizza place across from the zoo too. Sounds awesome. Again, thanks for all the help from this site.
  10. Just secured Embassy Suites Lakefront, $89/night. I did book through this site. I'm very happy - reviews seem great and should be child-friendly. I think we'll definately be doing the zoo and I am excited about the restaurant mentioned too. Thanks for all the great help and posts. I'm sure I'll be using this site again. All other info is still welcome.
  11. Now seeing 3.5*/MM - $116, 2adults/2kids Fitness, swimming, rest, bus ctr, HS internet Thinking it is the Doubltree - a good choice for kids? I suppose it could be the Wyndham as well. Any thoughts?
  12. We are taking our chances and waiting it out since we can adjust the length of our stay if necessary. But do plan to book through this site. Now I am seeing.... 4 1/2 star, MMS, Fitness, Bus Ctr, HS internet, Rest - $119 - Conrad, InterCont, & James (?) 3 star MMS, Fitness, Bus Ctr, HS internet - $99 - Holiday Inn Express, Hilton Garden, Inn of Chicago (?) Any thoughts? Remember, we have kids 5 & 10 with us.
  13. 7 3-star hotels are available -(loop or Mag Mile). We just want to be walking distance to everything downtown (vs closer to the airport). Not a particular hotel, necessarily. The cheapest thing I see is $119 - which seem high for what others seem to be getting. The only one offering a breakfast and pool is $139. Guess I'll wait it out since we have time, unless I am missing something.
  14. My first attempt at researching and booking with hotwire/priceline and have been reading, reading, and reading. Love this website! I'm really liking the Embassy Suites idea, but not sure if it is available for my dates. It seems a bit more $$ than some other hotels, but might be worth it given the free breakfast. Would enjoy having a pool, so the kids could unwind a bit, but not completely necessary. We'll be 2 adults and two children (5 & 10). Need to be close - walking distance or easy city transportation - to lots of stuff to do. Planning to take in some of the museums in Grant Park, Museum of Science & Industry, American Girl doll store and Watertower Place, skydeck or Hancock tower. Even read something about the Chicago Fed Reserve free tour. Disappointed to see that Navy Pier is not so highly recommended - would younger kids like it? What about the many boat ride tours? We need everything - recommended eating too. Definitely need Chicago Style Pizza (we have a Giordano's here locally - so not that, although we do like it). Is it too early to start bidding/looking for these June dates? Any help given is appreciated.
