  1. I am looking at 4 star hotel in Chicago on Hotwire for Feb 22nd-27th 2017 in the Riverwalk-North Loop area. I found one listed for $86, 95% recommended (top hotel). It shows the last person got The Wit. That's very close to where I want to be. The amenities are listed as Boutique hotel, Fitness center, Golf nearby, Internet access, Pet friendly, Restaurant(s), Spa services. Think It's The Wit? Thanks!
  2. Tried Priceline, had $5 bonus cash bid $35 plus the $5 for $40. Not accepted. Wouldn't let me try again and bonus cash expired. Used Hotwire where I felt safe I would get the Holiday in with parking lot. Don't think I would have gotten Priceline much cheaper even if it was the HI as the taxes and fees were higher. paid $57, 2 nights total $133 w/ free parking. Only there for a show so not to worried about the accommodations. Doing a bit of work then off to the show. If I would have saved anything it would be marginal. Anyway, posted on Hotwire board but info below as well. 3/13-3/15 2013, free lot parking, need for taller vehicle, no ramp parking. Had Doubletree last time, better hotel as I understand but for $57 and no $40 parking charge, good enough. Amenities: (from hotwire) Free Parking Indoor pool(s) Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Laundry Facilities (self-service) Tennis Nearby Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower

  4. I need a place in chicago with a parking lot, my Excursion is too tall for a garage. I'm going to see a show at the Vic Theater March 13-14. Anyway, last time I stayed in Skokie, got the Doubletree. I'm looking on Priceline and the highest rated hotel is a 3-start upscale. It looks to me like it's probably the Holiday Inn North Shore judging by some previous posts. I don't really care what hotel it is but need a parking lot with free parking. What are the chances of getting a hotel with a garage? Thanks! Steve
  5. Sorry about that, meant to mention I purchased through PRICELINE, selected 3 stars. I started with a $40 bid, PL countered with $53. It was $6 cheaper than HW if in fact it was the same property, might have been the Holiday Inn at HOTWIRE? Thanks again for the help!
  6. I got the Doubletree in Skokie for $53. Secured ParkWhiz parking spot both nights 1/2 block from the Vic for $12.99. The parking has good reviews and is private in an area with a fence. I feel pretty good about the whole deal now. Thanks again for your help, it's much appreciated!
  7. Thanks for all of the info! I had thought about leaving my truck at a park & ride but decided against it. As much as I like staying in the city, the cab rides are still $20 with a generous tip (each way). I usually take a taxi for convenience. I am planning on driving to the show from Skokie (or wherever north), I found a good safe reserved place to park near the venue. I will be getting to the venue area way before the show, probably 3-4pm and hang out in that area for a bit before I get in line. So you think Priceline would be a better bet? That's what I used last time. I guess most everything up north will have free parking in lots right. My Excursion will only fit in certain garages so unless I know exactly where I'm staying I hate to risk it. I will only have a small amount of time Saturday to do anything so not too sad about not staying downtown. I will let you know what I decide to do. Thanks again!
  8. I ended up getting a room via Priceline at the Four Points By Sheraton Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile for $55/night (in October). Very pleased, 1st room had a few problems, they upgraded me and all was good. It was a 5 day stay.
  9. Hello, I am on Hotwire and looking at a 3 star hotel in Skokie on 3-30 through 4-1 2012 for $59. Amenities include Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center & High-Speed Internet Access. From research and other posts it looks like The Holiday Inn Skokie or the Doubletree? Only issue is I'm going to the Vic theatre 2 nights and it will be a $35 or so taxi ride each way for 2 nights to the shows but those hotels have free parking. There is another in the Lake View - Lincoln Park - Wrigleyville area for $104. It's a 4 star hotel. Amenities are Smoke Free Rooms, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby and Tennis nearby. That is max 2 miles from my destination but would be paid parking. Last one is in the North Michigan Avenue - Water Tower - Gold Coast area. Price is $101 and it's also a 4 star. It's 2.5-3.7 miles from the Vic but also closer to downtown. Amenities are Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access. Recommended by 90%. I guess I need to decide if I want to have free parking and a long taxi ride and be far from downtown or closer to downtown, pay more and pay for parking. Sorry for the long post, I've never had this trouble deciding. Last trip in winter got a room right off Rush st at the Sheridan Four Seasons for $57, stayed 5 days and they mistakenly only charged $40 parking for one night. That one was easy! I appreciate any help! BTW, I have a Ford Excursion so parking in some ramps can be pretty close, may be able to take the wife's mini van however. Thanks! Steve
  10. I am planning a trip to Chicago from Dec 12 to the 16th. I found a 3 star hotel on Hotwire in the Magnificent Mile Area - Streeterville area. It's amenities list fitness center, business center and high speed internet. The price is $57 recommended by 95% of Hotwire reviews (500+). Could it be the Residence Inn? Seems to fit the profile. The price is awesome, I am going to shows at the Riviera, the Vic and the Civic Opera House that week. It's 5-6 miles from the Riv (4750 N Broadway). What would be your best guess? My only real issue is that I drive an Excursion and it's very tight in parking ramps although I've generally managed in most parking ramps, it's about 79" at it's high point. Not worried about taking a taxi to the venues. Thanks, Steve
  11. Yes, it was the Caribe Royale and cheaper than the travel agent.
  12. Here is another I am looking at for the same dates, March 28-April 4. It's a $94 4-star hotel in Lake Buena Vista - Downtown Disney. I'm thinking it may be the Caribe Royale? The only thing I'm really concerned about is having separate bedroom for the kids. It shows it's a resort and the room is a suite with a bed choice. What are the chances a suite would have 2 queens and hide-a-bed in the same room? Any help would be appreciated! Resort Suite Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby
  13. Can anyone identify Lake Buena Vista - Downtown Disney area condo on HOTWIRE, $104/night, 3/28-4/4. I think it may be the quality suites 1-Bedroom Suite Fully-equipped Kitchen Smoke Free Rooms Complimentary Breakfast Free Parking Daily Housekeeping Air Conditioning Children's Activity Program Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center 24-hour Front Desk Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Condo
