  1. I tried for the 4* Carolina Hotel in Chapel Hill for July 1 with unsuccessful bids starting at $50 and ending at $70. I then tried 3.5 in Durham which was my preferred location at $48 and was accepted with first bid. Hilton Durham near Duke University. I used the PRICELINE link from Betterbidding.
  2. I bid 75 and was excepted - Hilton Americas. While I probably should have started the bid process again given the gap in time since my last bid, this will work for my one night in Houston and it is a much better price than Hotwire for same property.
  3. Should have searched the forum first. This property appears to be the Hilton Americas. It is further away than I wanted so I will continue with my Priceline bidding.
  4. The 106 property does have internet. I missed listing that amenity. If this is the hyatt, I will purchase via HOTWIRE. If not, I will start bidding on PRICELINE again. Thanks
  5. Looks like time not on my side here. Hotwire increased Hotel Icon by $10 so my bidding on Priceline will be tougher. But before I start again with Priceline bidding, do you have any thoughts on other Hotwire hotel for 106 with 95% approval and 4* Gym Pool Business center Restautant Spa
  6. I would like to stay at or near the Hyatt Regency but I see that Priceline 4* hotels can be a good distance away within the same Downtown zone. However, I am willing to take the chance and potentially getting a hotel further away in this zone. I will just catch a cab or hit the tunnels and walk. So far I have tried up to $72 but the bid has not been accepted.
  7. Do you have any suggestions on bidding for a four * Houston hotel in the downtown area for June 1. I would love to get Hyatt Regency via Priceline since it is very close to where I want to be. I also noticed that Hotwire has a deal for 4.5 star with amenities of Restaurant and Internet and 90% approval rating for $92. Any idea on what hotel that might be?
  8. I noticed the price surge in hotels in March and thought it prudent to go the VRBO route. I was able to find a unit near Gramercy Park at the price I was hoping to spend on a two PRICELINE hotel rooms. All's well that ends well.
  9. Using the information on this forum, I tried, unsuccessfully, to get two 4* rooms via Priceline for me, wife and two teenagers. Now I am wondering if I should either up my bid on two rooms or try to get one room (suite?) that will comfortably fit all four of us. Not sure of best way to go at this point :) . My bids were as follows: 85 - mte 88 - mte,mtw 90 - mte, mtw,ts 92 - mte, mtw,ts,esb 95 - mte, mtw,ts,esb, cps 97 - mte, mtw,ts,esb, cps,hk 100-mte,mtw,ts,esb,cps,hk,msg
