  1. and which hotel do think the $100 4* is?
  2. ok awesome. there are two deals #1 - 8.0 guest rating - 3* downtown new orleans, internet, in or out/pool, business centre, fitness centre. $89/night #2 - 8.0 guest rating - 3* convention centre and warehouse-arts district, breakfast, internet, in or out/pool, pets, business, fitness. $82/night when i click to purchase both deals says outdoor pool. thanks so much
  3. i was all ready to book a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal with priceline. did my due diligence in searching and figuring out which hotels were being offered when i read this line "The hotel that is booked may or may not be one that you have seen during a hotel search on priceline. Any sorting or filtering options previously used will not apply to this request." is that true? so priceline is possibility offering a hotel that is not on their website? am i basically reserving ANY 3* hotel in the area with the amenities listed? if so seems like express deals are a complete crap shoot. this is for a 3* in downtown new orleans from dec 12-16th. the deal at $89/night seemed like a great deal.
  4. hmmmm ok so i have decided to take your advice ;) i am going to bid for the warehouse and downtown districts - 3*'s and up. hoping to spend no more than $85/night. any help would be muuuuuch appreciated :)
  5. great thanks getting ready to bid but cannot figure out what/where the 1 rebid zone is... found it - new orleans east
  6. hi there i am wondering if i could get some help. i am looking for a hotel for dec 12-15/2013 in new orleans in the warehouse district. the courtyard seems to be $130/night but i see on here people are paying about $60/night for weekends. i would like to pay up to $75/night. i am sending my mom to a concert in new orleans at the saenger theatre that weekend - we live in toronto - so want her to be comfortable. 3* is fine as all of the hotels in that rating seem to have good reviews. any help would be great thanks
  7. hi there tried and tried to book buffalo all last week and could get nothing at a good price. decided to just use my marriott points and stayed at the residence inn cheektowaga. thanks for all the help - better luck next time

  9. you mean niagara falls not amherst right? :)
  10. ok so you were right about the "when" the bid is rejected. so instead i would like to try for 3*, amherst and downtown however are not acceptable in the 3* range. thanks again for the help
  11. hi again, i want to stay in buffalo/niagara falls june 22 - 23rd (1 night) maximum bid for 3.5 and 3*'s $60 - i see close to this price was won recently thanks
  12. booked with the fairfield inn marriott jfk. nice place, shuttle to the airport and shuttle out to the shoppes. would stay again
  13. this was for 9/16 coming home from dublin. at the time my daughter worked for best western jamaica ny and we used her discount. NOT a hotel i would stay in again.
  14. hi there, i use this site all the time to book priceline hotels (love this site) today however i must be having a brain f*rt because i cannot figure out the best way to book buffalo.:( what i am looking for is a 3.5* in either amherst or downtown, or a 3* in airport or niagara falls. any help would be appreciated. thanks
  15. new to the HOTWIRE game 2.5*, JFK Airport Jamaica area the property says they are still gathering reviews. the amenities are: shuttle fitness centre restaurant business centre laundry high speed internet
  16. got the buffalo marriott for $70 started at $60, they asked for $78 but i just added 2 rebid zones until they accepted $70.
  17. so after rechecking the reviews of the hotels in the 3* price range i see that one of them has bedbugs. with MY luck THAT is the hotel i will end up winning :) so i am just going to search for some hotels in the area with ok reviews and book with them. off rack pricing of course :) thanks for your help, alas jfk and priceline were just not meant to be
  18. Used your logic and selected 3* JFK Bid $65, rejected, added Bayside Bid $75, rejected added Elmhurst Bid $85, rejected added Jamaica Bid $95, rejected better luck tomorrow :)
  19. i can go up to about $125 per night. i will post all of my trials and tribulations thanks for the help
  20. ok now i've got it. i can first bid 3* in kennedy airport/jfk then if not accepted 3* adding bayside then elmhurst, then jamaica. right?? if you check tripadvisor the 3* hotels are not to badly reviewed.
  21. i have used this site many times to book hotels - so thank you we are travelling to ny sept 6th, flying to dublin out of jfk, coming home the 16th and need hotel roms for both those nights. 6th and 16th i think if i am correct that the best bet for clean well priced accomodations are in the 3* range - priceline jfk. what i need to know is what are the rebid zones i can use that have no 3*'s in them so i can be assured to get something in the jfk area. i think elmhurst is one (but i am not certain how updated the ny hotel sticky is) thanks for your help :)
  22. Tried tonight starting at $45 with just Amherst, added 2 more areas and got it after 5 mins for $60, which seems to be the lucky number. I stayed here late summer, again through Priceline and Betterbidding, (paid much more) and really liked the hotel. Parking the car for 4 days was seamless and the shuttle was great. (only problem was we were delayed coming out of NYC for 5 hours so had to taxi it back to the hotel as it was 3 a.m.) Rooms are spacious and staff is great. thanks Betterbidding :) :)
  23. YES!!! After trying for 4 days I finally hit upon the right number $125 for the above resort. 2 rooms from April 2 - 3rd. Pre-cruise. Used the PRICELINE link through here. Seemed only fair as I have gotten so much great info from here. Have never used PRICELINE before. Hopefully check-in/out will be painless. Hope it is a nice place.
