  1. I did go through the site, and it was indeed the Hyatt Centric! Very happy with the hotel at $119/night AND there was a $30 off coupon as it was a Hot Deal hotel thru the board HOTWIRE link. Thanks for all your help!
  2. Sorry! One last question, as this seems like an awesome deal: 4.5* Times Square South 95% rating Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Spa services Is this the Hyatt Centric?
  3. Thanks for some great ideas. I am looking them over now, but I was also wondering if you could help me ID the ones in my original post, which I am still interested in as well. Thanks!
  4. Amenities listed: Rated 9.0 out of 10 (or higher) Pets Allowed Restaurant Free Internet Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Also, when you go to book it, it noted a $45/night pet fee. This was a fantastic luxury hotel in a great location. Wonderful customer service and beautiful room. Breakfast was included when we went.
  5. Going to stay with 8/20 - 8/22. Would like to stay at or under $200/night if possible, but willing to go a little higher if it's worth it.
  6. Okay, sorry. I just left follow-up on NY trip from several years ago. I did go through BB and get the Andaz Amsterdam for a recent trip, so I will put that in as well. As for my dates, we should be able to finalize today, but for the moment I am basing it on 8/20-8/22. Thanks again!
  7. Wound up getting great last minute rate at Inter Continental Times Square with AAA for this trip. Thanks for your help!
  8. Taking my 19 year old daughter to NY 8/20 - 8/22 (may extend one day at front or end). We have a concert at MSG, and a brunch on upper East Side, but I'd also like to spend some time with her down around the West Village and Meatpacking areas, and maybe we'll fit in a play. In the past, we have stayed in the Times Square area, but I was recently there and what a madhouse it was! I stayed at The Roxy in Soho and loved the hotel, but don't know how convenient it would be to get to all these other places. So I'd love some input on which area might work best and still have the type of "mojo" a cool 19 year old would enjoy, but I would also love some help IDing these hotels that I got from the Bidding Helper: From Hotwire Easy View: Soho/Tribeca 4.5* Free Internet, Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Internet access, Wheelchair accessible 90% recommended $142/night Times Square South 4.5* Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower 95% recommended $196/night Soho/Tribeca 5* Free Internet, Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Internet access 90% recommended $217 Meatpacking 3.5* Free breakfast, Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Internet access, Spa services 100% recommended 214 One other question - on Priceline Express, would Times Square South be part of Theatre District or Midtown West - Hell's Kitchen? Thanks for your help!!
  9. Just as a final follow-up to this post (sorry it's a few years late), we wound up having to cancel our trip due to a medical emergency. Thank you all for your very valuable help though!!
  10. Heading to NY 4/9-4/11. This Chelsea hotel is listed on Hotwire Easy View at $186. I think the same one (?) is listed on regular Hotwire for $195? Amenities listed include: Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower. Also, can you generally get a better deal trying Priceline vs. just using Hotwire? Thank you!
  11. I think so. I'd like to stay pretty central to the top tourist attractions, and I'm feeling like these two zones pretty much cover it.
  12. Any thoughts on what you think it would take to get a 5* in those areas? Also any recommendation on price to try for a 4* in those same areas? Would I follow the same strategy with a 4*? Thanks again for all the help!
  13. Tried again today. Went up to $220 but no luck. Do you think it would make any difference if I waited a bit and tried again, or should I give up and just try for a 4* in those areas? Thanks
  14. Thanks. Rejected at all levels. Got as high as $195. Thinking I might try again with slightly higher numbers in a few days before going down to the 4*s.
  15. Thank you - just want to confirm the rebid zones... I see them as Finbury, Hammersmith, Kensington, The City, Bloomsbury, and Wembley..is that correct?
  16. Regarding Priceline, I'd be interested in Mayfair/Soho or Westminster, 5* up to $180 (would go a bit higher if necessary - up to $200), 4* up to $150. (Curious about the Grand at Trafalgar Square, which seems to be consistently won for under $100....) Thanks again for your help -
  17. I have been keeping an eye on HOTWIRE for the past few days but have not seen the hotel come up again. I did notice one tonight in Westminster, 4*, fitness center, business center, internet, restaurant, near golf, near tennis. Any thoughts on what that might be? If that doesn't seem to work out (a little higher than we would like, too), I think I will try PRICELINE, so any strategy you can offer would be appreciated. Thanks again -
  18. Thanks, that is great information. I do think we would like to stay in the area of Westminster, Victoria, Soho, or Picadilly, so it looks like on Priceline, we would probably want to be focusing on Mayfair/Soho or Westminster. Would prefer 4* or 5*, and would like to stay under $170 if possible, but willing to go higher - like up to $200 - if necessary. Had noticed a hotel on Hotwire that fit the Park Plaza Victoria a few days ago, but it's gone now. Do you think there's a chance it will come back? Thanks again -
  19. Sorry about the delay - completely forgot about that post. I have responded now. Thank you for your help!
  20. Wound up booking a hotel in Secaucus that was much less expensive and right on the bus line into the city. Thanks!
  21. Hi - My husband and I will be heading to London July 6 - 10. After looking for weeks at hotels on every imaginable site, I find myself completely overwhelmed. Since I don't know the city, I am not sure what area to even bid on should I look at Priceline or Hotwire. We want to primarily do main tourist sites: Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, British Museum, Harrods, maybe theatre, etc. Would like to be central, even though I know transportation is pretty good there. If you could help me narrow down where I should be bidding, and strategy for a 4*/5* within these areas, I'd appreciate it. Looking to stay under $150 if at all possible. Less would certainly be better though. Thanks -
  22. I was planning on 3 in our room, and 2 for the other room. Sounds like I am better off checking HOTWIRE, although there do not seem to be any great deals out there right now. Thanks -
  23. In town for my nephew's graduation at Columbia and thought we'd make a weekend of it in the city. Prefer MTE, TS, or UES...may look at MTW if no luck with the other areas. Hope to keep it around $140 max. Two other questions: There are 3 of us, as my 11 year old is going as well. Do most of these hotels have 2 beds/fit 3 people, or can that be requested after a win? Also, my sister and her husband are going. Are we more or less likely to get a better deal if we try for 2 rooms instead of just one? Thanks for your help!
