  1. Won Radisson Blu at $55/night for September 1-3. Edit: Holy crap, not the Radisson - the Radisson Blu. Swanky-danky! Wow. On Hotels.com, this is currently $179/night. First time on the board: Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Of course, booked through the HOTWIRE link at the top of the page.
  2. Not a bad deal on PRICELINE - happy to hear that the entire hotel is smoke-free. Kind of chuffed they took my first offer, though this is $12 less for the night then Hotels.com had it for. Of course, used the PRICELINE links at the top of the page. Last stayed here about 13 years ago - curious to see how it has changed.
  3. Hi there, The amenities were exactly as reported, including the double listing of the Wheelchair accessible. Copied and pasted directly from the Hotwire website.
  4. Had to pull the trigger, and it was the Park Plaza. Not a bad rate, considering there are many other nice hotels in the area with lower rack rates.
  5. Having a hard time IDing a hotel. Came up using the HOTWIRE links on the page at a great $55/night. Amenities are: Indoor pool(s) Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Free Parking Free Internet Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Wheelchair accessible Roll-in shower Can't say I'm all that fond of the new amenity listings (i.e. this car has doors - it's an amenity!). Since it's 90% recommended, I'd guess either Hilton Garden Inn, not Park Plaza. Could be a different hotel though. What say you all?
  6. Well went up to $85 today, and got the room using the PRICELINE links at the top of the page. Nice win, got the Staybridge Suites close to the I-94. Nice to always report a new hotel on the win page. And as a final follow up point, contacted the hotel, and we were given queen studio suites under our Priceline bid. Not bad, though buying this room direct would have cost an additional $55-60 for the weekend.
  7. Well, was able to book with a $5 increased bid on the PRICELINE links at the top of the page. Will update my thread in the Priceline forum.
  8. Hi All, A bit frustrated with my 3* Priceline bid, so thought I would check out the Hotwire offerings through the link at the top of the page. I found a 2.5* for $66/room/night in Fargo for these dates with the same amenities listed as the Kelly Inn 3* (Shuttle, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Complimentary Breakfast, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry). Any chance the Kelly Inn got dropped 1/2*, or could there be some other property that matches this? Depending on replies, I may actually purchase this, or I may go back and up my Priceline bid another $5 today.
  9. Well, tried $81 today with no luck using the PRICELINE link at the top of the page. No luck, but nice of them to offer me an immediate rebid at $106/night. We didn't do the rebid zone as the likely hotel in the Fargo zone will be close to the mall and shopping for Black Friday. Although the Moorhead 3* is likely a nice hotel, it's a bit too far out of the way. Off to $86 tomorrow I guess.
  10. Sorry about that! Date was check in November 24th, check out November 27th. A basic room at the Holiday Inn is at $103/night, while there are no basic rooms at the Ramada right now. Average stay for the night at the newer LaQuinta (pretty much the nicest LaQuinta I've seen) is around $107/night. Tried $76 today - no luck. Guess it's off to $81 tomorrow. Median price today showed as $139.
  11. Tried bidding through the PRICELINE links at the top of the page. Although median price was originally reported as $119, a bid of $61 was refused. A rebid of $71 was also refused. Too bad as it looks like the only two hotels that fall under this categotry in Fargo are the Holiday Inn and the Ramada Plaza.
  12. And things get even better! I sent the hotel an e-mail this morning with my Hotwire confirmation #, and wanted to confirm that if the hotel was not 100% non-smoking that we would prefer a non-smoking room. Not only did I get a polite and prompt reply confirming the hotel was 100% non-smoking, I also received the good news that my Hotwire booking secured me a King Suite, worth at least $50 more than what I bid on Hotwire. Looking like it was a really good win!
  13. Think the title is pretty self-explanatory. However, when recently doing a Minneapolis search, I was excited to see Eden Prairie to come up at $51/night - this option disappeared when I entered that I had two kids. Funny part was that even after I added my kids and resorted the search, this hotel still showed up. Then when I clicked the Hotwire "Search" button, this hotel was unavailable. Technically, Hotwire would have allowed me to book the room even though it was likely a King room and would not have slept all four of us.
  14. This was my latest win, and a reasonable rate for a hotel in this area that serves a complimentary breakfast. it's actually $20/night cheaper on Hotwire than the non-cancellable rate offered through a popular booking site. Amenities listed were: Airport Shuttle Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Centre Pool Business Centre Laundry Facilities High Speed Internet Of course, searched for and booked through the HOTWIRE links at the top.
  15. Searching 2/2. Think we'll be skipping HOTWIRE for this one - it's worth $50/night in a strange city to know exactly where you'll be. Thanks anyways!
  16. Well, changed dates and the number of hotels went down. Using the HOTWIRE links at the top of the page, for 4/12-4/14, I got Munich City Centre 3 1/2* for $98/night with the following amenities: Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, High Speed, Golf, Tennis It's only at 65% recommended which makes me a bit nervous. Regardless, couldn't find a match in the hotel list.
  17. Hey Folks, Looking at booking a Munich Hotel for a few nights in April, and checking through the HOTWIRE links at the top of the page. However, the search results returned 5 different areas for Munich (Munich, East, West, South, and Airport). Not much luck matching against the list. Of interest was a 4* in "Munich Area" for $79. Amenities are: Fitness, Restaurant, Laundry, Hi-Speed Internet Any guesses or other ideas?
  18. Booked my first ever hotel through Priceline today using the PRICELINE links at the top (of course). 3* Eden Prairie accepted at $51/nt - pretty good as usually the Thursday night is in the $120/nt range. And the winner was the Hilton Garden Inn - Eden Prairie
  19. Sorry, my bad. I do know better. Extra bit - hotel is 100% recommended. And if I book, it will be through the HOTWIRE links at the top of the page!
  20. Looks like we're going to the UK in the spring of 2011, so we decided not to go to Florida this year. Thanks for your help though!
  21. Have done a Hotwire search, and have found a Bloomington West 3* for September 3-6/10 at $59/night, but the amenities do not match anything on the list. Amenities listed are: - Shuttle - Fitness - Pool - Restaurant - Business Centre - Hi Speed Internet Any ideas?
  22. Interesting looking condo on Hotwire in the Orlando - Celebration/Maingate area. Lots of amenities listed: On the search page (in this order): Condo Studio Parking A/C Kids Activities Fitness Centre Pool Business Centre On the pop up when selecting the site (in this order): Studio Parking A/C Kids Activities Fitness Centre Pool Business Centre 24-hr desk Laundry High Speed Internet Tennis Nearby Kitchenette Condo Any ideas? This was found using the Hotwire search links at the top of the page.
  23. Good win here! Thanks for the help - I would have never bid on HOTWIRE again without this forum! 3* Near Strip South for April 22-23 for $42 - Doubletree Club Airport. Amenities were exactly as shown on the hotels page: Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, Hi-Speed Internet, Golf, Tennis Booked through the HOTWIRE links on this page. FYI, these rooms are $75/night anywhere else.
  24. Answered my own question - looks like the MGM Grand. Had to click on "see all" to see the spa icon. If I book it, I'll use the HOTWIRE links on the board, and post my win back here!
