  1. Used the PRICELINE link and bid $50 for a 4**** at SFO Airport. Received counter offer to increase bid to $65. Added Union Square East and raised bid to $57 and was accepted. All in all a GREAT stay but next time will definitely bid for a hotel closer in the city. Although we used the BART to get downtown, we found it a bit expensive for a family of 4 if you wanted to go more than once...would have been easier to just stay in the city. We are now have been to the city and know we would like to stay a bit closer to the action. With that said, this hotel was a GREAT DEAL for a hotel near the SFO airport. Great Facility and they treated us very nice. Free shuttle to/from the airport (and BART). The only negative I have is that they charge to use their Business center if you have to do more than print boarding passes.
  2. Well I DID search for this hotel and couldn't actually find something that matched....it's quite possible I missed it, that is why I posted it. I just did ANOTHER search and found this thread but they didn't mention the amentities. Not to mention the list of hotels for Buffalo on the Hotwire hotel list does not list a 2.5 star under 'Downtown'. http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?sho...ffalo++downtown

  4. Just a quick update. We stayed one night at The Barclay and one night at the W. I would definitely NOT recommend The Barclay. The only good thing I can say about the stay was the bed...it was fabulous. We arrived approx 8 am and I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask for an early check in...every hotel that I have ever been to has been nice enough to allow for early check in IF there is a room available. They confirmed that our room WAS available but wanted to charge me $100 to have the early check in. I explained that we just needed the room for about an hour to freshen up and change and then we wouldn't be back again until 4pm (we had a 6 hour walking tour at 10 am). They wouldn't budge. The other thing is that they require you to sign a document that allows them to CHARGE your credit card for $100...not hold, not just an imprint but actually charge it. They will then refund the $$ if not used but that it would take 7-14 days. They even have a sign on the front desk stating this. I refused to sign the document, asked to talk to a supervisor and was basically told that is their policy and they are not budging. I never did sign the document but they charged my cc anyways. Thankfully the next night was at the W hotel where we not only received an early check in but also a 2 room upgrade ! And the price was $25 less.
  5. We decided to stay another night and fly home early Monday am. I bid $105 for MTE and received the W hotel (yeah...this was what I wanted!!!). It will be interesting to stay at both the more traditional Intercontinental Barclay and then the W. I'm pretty sure I know which one my 13 year old will like best. Looking forward to the stay. I used the PRICELINE link to place my bid. Thanks again to this forum. Jen
  6. Decided to stay an extra night also (see my other thread where I got the Barclay) so I big $105 for Sunday night and got the W hotel. :) I'll go add mine to the list but just wanted to put a little thank you here..you gave me hope again for getting the W. So two nights in NYC at two different hotels, one more traditional and one more 'swanky'. :) I love it. And yes, I used the PRICELINE link.
  7. Taking my daughter to NYC for her 13th birthday. We were hoping for the W hotel but ended up getting The Barclay. :) Oh well...still a pretty good deal. I tried all last week to get a 4* for 3/5/2011 and all bids were denied up to $120. Today tried $130 for MTE and was accepted straight away. I used the PRICELINE link.
  8. If I decide to 'go for it', I"ll be sure to post back and let you know which hotel it is.
  9. Didn't realize I didn't follow up. I have posted the outcome of my Dallas trip.

  12. Argh...I want this deal and it won't come up for me. :) 3/18/2011 - 3/22/2011. Boohoo
  13. Hi there, I used PL last Christmas and got the Sheraton resort and we loved it. The room they were supposed to give us was a 'garden' view but we could most definitely see the ocean from our room...it was lovely. That's a good tip on the maid service...we weren't aware of that. The food at the resort is very pricey..I believe breakfast was around $20 per person.
  14. Will definitely use the links in the future..sorry just forgot this time.
  15. Wow...great deal. Just bid $39 (based on information from a previous poster) and got the Doubletree hotel in Stapleton. Bid was accepted first try. Lowest rate on their website right now is: $159 /night for night of 10/17/2010. One of the best deals yet for me on PRICELINE. Whoohoo.
  16. Hi there..does anyone know which hotel this matches to: 4**** in DFW North and Grapevine area hotel Airport Shuttle Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Trying to get it for tomorrow night. It's showing as $59.
  17. Bid $43 and was denied Included Coronado and rebid at $47 - accepted. :) Free shuttle to/from airport and the zoo...perfect for us. Very happy.
  18. I also believe this to be the Sheraton. I have stayed there and loved it however, that price of $200 is a bit high. I was able to get it for $129 and in fact, for the dates I am searching on (5/28/10 = 5/31/10) it is coming up as $129. The hotel is quite nice but be prepared to spend a lot on food if you stay at hotel. Within a short walking distance is a few nice places to eat (Roy's, etc). We rented bikes and cruised up and down and found good snorkeling and restaurants.
