How did you book your really good rate at Holiday Inn Express. I'm looking for one (though for this trip I might prefer the location at 205 N Federal Hwy, Dania Beach, rather than 17th street).
I would like to book this same hotel for that price two days later, checking in 4/12/2014. I'm not sure what my odds are.3* Orlando (Airport MCO) Hyatt Place Orlando Airport Northwest
$50 ... 4/9/14-4/10/14
I won this same hotel for the same price back in October. I am pleased with the price and the hotel.
Priceline Express Deals listed a 3-star hotel that appeared to be the Hyatt Place Bethlehem for $62/night.
I bid $50 for 3 stars in region Bethlehem and was rejected. They suggested I up my bid to $64.
I then bid $55 for 3 stars in regions Bethlehem+AllentownDorneyville (Dorneyville region doesn't appear to have any 3+ star properties) and my bid was accepted: 3 x $55 + $26.85 taxes/fees = $191.85
Presuming it really was the Hyatt Place, the ExpressDeals page listed:
I hope I get free breakfast any parking anyway, even though I didn't purchase through Express Deals. Otherwise I should have just paid the extra $7/night.
It does indeed have a pirate-themed very shallow pool for the kids.
They charged me a $5.50 resort fee, which I wasn't expecting. I know
some places charge these fees, but this was a Holiday Inn a year ago.
However they also gave me a $20 food voucher, also unexpected.
It does seem to have free internet—not sure why they didn't list it.
2* Cocoa Beach - Cape Canaveral area hotel
[beachfront] [fitness center] [pool(s)] [restaurant(s)] [laundry facilities] [tennis nearby]

$39 + $10 in fees
It turns out to be:
International Palms Resort on Cocoa Beach
Today a 3* showed up with [complimentary breakfast] but
otherwise the same, so I booked it for $49 + $12 in fees.
It was indeed the Hyatt Place Orlando Airport Northwest.
check in 10/23/2010, check out 10/24/2010
Thanks for the clarification. For some reason my brain didn't
realize that Northwest and Northeast aren't the same word.
Now I must ponder whether to try for Hyatt Place or go with
some lower-end (no HDTV) places I know about for $30-35.
I'm hoping to book a Hyatt Place in Orlando on 10/23/2010,
mostly because it's the only hotel I can find that verifiably has
HDTV (not just an HD-capable set, but an HD signal coming in).
Any Orlando location would be fine, but they seem to be all
booked up for 10/23/2010 except for the Airport location
(Hyatt Place Northwest, 5435 Forbest Place) and one so far
to the north that it shouldn't count as Orlando.
Looking at the "Pinned: Hotwire Hotel List - Florida" post is
confusing. Here's what it says:
3* Hyatt Place Northwest (5435 Forbest Place) 2.5* Amerisuites NorthwestAmenities: Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business
(possibly same as Hyatt Place Northeast)
OR
Amenities: Shuttle, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business
Did two hotels get mixed up there, or did the Amerisuites
Northwest close and reopen as Hyatt Place? I would normally
presume the latter, except then the "possibly same as Hyatt
Place Northeast" bit makes no sense.
Anyway, I used the site's HOTWIRE link and was presented with:
3* $48Orlando Intl Airport MCO area hotel (0.2 - 3.0 mi from MCO)
[airport shuttle] [fitness center] [pool(s)] [business center] [high-speed internet]
Recommended in 95 % of Hotwire customer reviews
Since this does not list [complimentary breakfast] as an amenity,
may I presume this is not Hyatt Place?
GiddyUp booked the Hyatt Place Northwest (for December) for $49.
It showed as 95% recommended, but also Complimentary Breakfast.
3.5* at $50 was rejected, before this 3* at $59 bid (+ $13 taxes and fees) was accepted.
PRICELINE suggested I increase my bid by $14 after the rejection, but I did not.
I was hoping for Crowne Plaza Englewood (which I could have booked directly on priceline for $84+fees, as opposed to $90+fees for Holiday Inn George Washington Bridge) but this hotel will suffice. I guess I should have kept the 3.5 stars instead of moving down to 3 stars.
3.5* Tampa (Downtown - Historic Ybor - Harbour Island) Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk Hotel
in Priceline Hotels - Florida
Posted
amenities: Pets Allowed, Business Center, Restaurant, Free Internet, Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Fitness Center
$83 quote, $104 after priceline fees/taxes (not including $1.50 Additional Mandatory Fee to be collected at the hotel)
Because of the $1.50 additional mandatory fee, it was obvious that this was the Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk.
Unfortunately, I was confusing it with the Tampa Mariott Waterside, which is what I really wanted, but that's on me.
