  1. I started at $45 and increased my bid $4-$5 a night to $68. Today, it gave me the option of increasing my bid to $79, so I figured I would go ahead rather than waiting another 24 hours. I figured it was going to be the Omni since that was the likely Hotwire identified hotel and the price was the same, but that's ok! It's not my first choice since it doesn't have an outdoor pool, but it satisfies all other requirements! We're pleased with the win.
  2. That was my guess as well and since it doesn't have an indoor pool, I think I'm going to try my odds on priceline instead. Thanks again for your help! I'll use the PRICELINE links and post any wins I get :)
  3. Thanks! Here's the information: 3/10-3/17 (2 adults, 1 child) Hilton Head Island Area 4 star $79/per night + resort fee 95% of Hotwire reviews recommend (overall satisfaction = 4.5), TripAdvisor 4.0 out of 5.0 Amenities: Resort Beachfront Property Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Kitchenette Spa Services Children's Activity Program
  4. Is it possible to distinguish which resort has an indoor pool with Hotwire? It looks like of the 4 listed resorts, 3 of the 4 have indoor pools. We're trying to bid for March and have 2 small children, so it's an important feature. Thanks in advance!
  5. Thought I would share my recent successful bid with Priceline for our trip to Puerto Rico! We loved the El Conquistador resort and were really pleased all around. I had called a couple days in advance to secure a crib and spoke with the front desk regarding an infant life vest for the catamaran ride to the private island. They were extremely nice and very helpful. I asked about an upgrade (even at a cost) and she said that they would see what they could do at check-in. When we arrived, I was shocked to find out that they had upgraded us (at no charge) to an ocean-view room! The rooms were clean, though the cribs looked like little metal cages and we ended up not using it. The pools and the grounds of the resort were very well kept and the private island was amazing! The only thing that I didn't like, and can probably be expected of any resort, was the food and parking. Food was overpriced and blah. We had a rental car so we went off property for almost all meals and went to the grocery store for major staples. We often do this when we travel anyway, so we were planning on it. From a tripadvisor review, we knew to ask about Enterprise parking. If you rent a car through Enterprise, you can park in their lot for free on the resort. Overall, extremely happy with our stay and would go back in a heartbeat!
  6. Good points... 1. I am willing to take my chances on getting a hotel outside of the 3 properties listed. 2. My goal is the least expensive 4* or better. Thanks again :)
  7. I was hoping you might be able to help me with Priceline bidding an upcoming trip... Dates: March 13-18, 2010 Area Desired: PR Rio Grande-Humacao Budget: Would prefer to stay under $200, would LOVE to get something closer to $100 I don't have a preference between resorts or 4*, but would be happy with the El Conquistador, Wyndham Rio Mar or the Gran Malia. I'm assuming the Las Casitas are not including in Priceline? We'd love to have a waterview, but I don't think we can get it with our budget. Any tips for starting bids? Thanks in advance!
