  1. having lived in So Cal, now San Diego area, all my life, and being an annual passholder at Disney and having stayed at way too many hotels in the area including the Disney properties, to let you know I STRONGLY suggest you check ANY mileage when you are talking about walking distance. many hotels quote "walking distance" and note that the "block" that the park and downtown disney are on are very long (maybe 2 miles?). AND most hotels with the big rates/deals ie the chains are NOT within walking distance (unless you consider several miles walking distance - especially if you will be drinking). most hotels are on the anaheim transport which I would strongly suggest. Just check to see how long it runs vs the concert times. Also if you are going to an event and driving, you can I believe park in the short term lot and get validated. just fyi - have a great time!
  2. after much research on area with ONLY one and two star hotels, got a great deal on this one.
  3. very very pleased - have been to this hotel for meetings - I was about to give up as my prior tries at $39 down to a 3 star hadnt worked, so went up to 42, no dice, came back several hours later and did 51 for anaheim ONLY 3.5 ONLY. Hotel cost 51.00 fees: 13.81 total charges: 64.81 hilton website - best deal is $99.00, senior rate for over 62 at $94 NOTE parking is $15/24 hour period so probably will check out and move to disney parking lot which is around $15/day
  4. sorry - I guess I dont understand hotwire as much as I thought I did. the one hotel listed with shuttle is 3.5, the other is 3.0. sorry I thought I could only do one LOCATION in one thread, ie not dupont circle AND alexandria. to summarize - here are icons and location: Alexandria 1) 3.5* - suite, shuttle, non smoking, weights, swimming, restaurant, bus center, laundry 2) 3* - suite, non smoking, breakfast, pool, bus center, internet, kitchenette I am thinking 1 is the sheraton suites and 2 is the hawthorne suites?? We are interested in other closer areas however within the following criteria: free or low cost parking (ie under $20), free breakfast, free internet even if in the lobby, and kitchenette/suite style accomodations. For the dates of 4/2 to 4/7, I see NOTHING with a suite icon There is one that comes and goes (possibly as only one can appear at a time in one area?) for Dupont circle that has the following icons I believe as my post was deleted: bed choice, pool, fitness, kitchenette - it was also not rated. At this point I think we need to just wait until the last minute and see what we can get at the last minute. We will be in the general area on 3/30, so even possibly waiting until then? I am not sure about timing, but if at the last minute we can get a deal under $100 in the district we would be willing to compromise on some of the above criteria. thank you again
  5. this hotel appears to be too good to be true but I have no clue as to what it is. dupont circle, 3.5* icons: "bed choice", fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, kitchenette from here and trip advisor reviews it appears it could be 1 washington circle, washington suites/georgetown. the bed choice confuses me - what does that mean? this is a NON REVIEWED hotwire listing at $83/night - seems to good to be true? Is the Hilton which is under construction converting to suites as you can get a room off their site right now for $99/night thanks again
  6. first thank you the only places with these icons are in alexandria, with same price. here are icons and location: Alexandria both 3.5* 1) suite, shuttle, non smoking, weights, swimming, restaurant, bus center, laundry 2) suite, non smoking, breakfast, pool, bus center, internet, kitchenette I am thinking 1 is the sheraton suites and 2 is the hawthorne suites?? both seem to have good reviews - do you think I am correct or am I missing a place? also will post separately about a DC/dupont circle listing.
  7. Thanks in advance, have been lurking but this is my first post. going to DC area with 2 adults, 2 teens for spring break/history/family trip. Need two rooms. April 2 to 7th (5 nights) Goal - "suite" or kitchen with at a minimum a refrigerator and microwave, good neighborhood, 3* or better only extras - will have a car so looking for lower parking rates, included breakfast preferred, pool preferred. proximity to metro and grocery store preferred. what I have found: it appears that the ONLY true suites are in Alexandria, and from my guesses, it looks like the ones listed are the hawthorne suites, and the sheraton suites. Sheraton being downtown, hawthorne closer to a freeway. given above criteria, best bet? best location? any suggestion on another area closer in that would have at least a frig and microwave? I am excluding "outlying" ie tysons, dulles area, bethesda, etc. we DO have a Non hotwire reservation at the Crystal city holiday inn to fall back on. thank you in advance!
